David: Long, but worth the read... http://www.studycenter.com/downloads...on_to_Come.pdf Ron: As you say, it is long and certainly contains interesting information, but soon after presenting its "scientific" introduction, it quickly gets down to what is apparently its "real agenda". Admittedly, I have not read the entire document, but unless I've totally misinterpreted it, this is racist Christian propaganda - disguised as science. Actually, Christ, himself, seemed to have a clear and balanced view, and I don't believe that he would have endorsed the dark implications presented in this document. A balanced perspective is essential for all of us - and especially for those who study the LOO. All I suggest is that if any members of the asc2k are not already doing so, consider a broad range of philosophical, spiritual and religious materials (including the Ra material and LOO) before deciding what "rings true". Defnitely check out Michael Tsarion's work (for example, video lecture: http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...85184878490822). Tsarion may seem like a spiritual rebel to some, perhaps even the anti-Christ to Christians who misunderstand the nature of the soul (and it's role in the Trinity), but what he has to say about free thought and the true nature of the soul (as opposed to the ego) needs to understood by the world as we move into the forth-coming eras of mankind and perhaps post-mankind. Admittedly, I > have not read the entire document, but unless I've totally misinterpreted > it, this is racist Christian propaganda - I would agree, but the one thing I found of value is that I have never seen a more eloquent description of the motivations of many atheists:- 'Fortunately, they have answered that question for us: Oxford zoologist Richard Dawkins said, " Darwin made it possible to be an intellectually fulfilled atheist," (unintentionally confirming Colossians 1:21's assertion that intellectual position is dictated by spiritual condition.) (Johnson) Aldous Huxley revealed ulterior motives as well, saying that the scientist "is also concerned to prove that there is no valid reason why he personally should not do as he wants to do. For myself, as no doubt for most of my contemporaries, the philosophy of meaningless was essentially an instrument of liberation. from a certain system of morality. We objected to the morality because it interfered with our sexual freedom."' I have seen very few examples of strong atheism which I did not feel were primarily an act of rebellion against theism, rather than a genuine believe on the part of the adherent in the lack of a creative principle. I apologise for bringing this up if it is off topic, but it is an issue which has caused me some emotional pain of late...Wikipedia has been taken over by atheist fundamentalists, who are preventing anyone from submitting anything unless it adheres to their particular brand of materialistic pedantry. In order to try and bring this somewhat back on-topic...I'm trying to remember...Does Ra say anything about atheism in particular? |
