1,000 mark!!!

we've hit it!

just want to send out a /cheer. i've been watching the member number increase ever so steadily over the last couple of weeks.

it's just cool to see the community grow.

and bravo to the moderators (chris and lighteye), managing 1,000 member's posts (although i'm sure not all are active...but hey, thats a lot of people!) is no easy task. and for anyone that isn't technically inclined, running a forums with such a large and ever increasing user base is no walk in the park!

everyone in the community should take a moment to give a big cheer to the divine cosmos forums! our consistent discussions help create this dynamic system which reflects, in my opinion, a sort of 3rd density social memory complex.

even you lurkers, whom haven't posted yet or registered deserve a big cheer!

well, i guess the '1000' of the thread description has grown to almost 4000 now.

as of december 2008, the numbers are:

total members: 3991
active members: 3369

thats quite a community!

on a personal note: please feel free to send me a 'friend invite' via the profile page. it seems as though a lot of the 'connective' features of forum life really aren't used to their fullest extent. think of it as a mini-facebook

ps i'm amazed by the number of 'guests' that roam the forums. they usually outnumber the registered members by about 3 to 1!

this forum has likely the highest active:registered ratio i've seen, that's more important than just registered amount.
