What should I do?
this event runs a little deeper then just feeling i ripped off the gas company and put the attendant's job on the line. since being the last one to be employed at the company at which i work, i take out the trash. dah!!! well, about three weeks ago i was about to take a trash pail from the loading dock and take it to the dumpster. as i looked up i saw ray, he is a 72 year old electrical genious sorting through the garbage. he said to me, "do you like baseball?" i asked why and he handed me two envelopes which he found in the garbage. they contained a signed lithograph which had mrs. babe ruth's signature on it and a signed sports illustrated cover signed by johnny bench and a signed lithograph of brooks robinson. i knew what i had at the moment, but i snatched them anyway and placed them securely in my truck. when i got home i found even more treasure. included in these envelopes was a telegram from the mayor of baltimore to babe ruth stating that a limo would pick him and his wife claire up for that evening's game and he wanted to know if the invitation to the game included his wife as well. on the front of this telegram are the words babe wrote to his wife about the mayor picking them up in a limo. on the back of this telegram are hand written words by babe, that i am sure i've heard him say in a sound bite or two. even just as incredible is a death benifit reciept paid to mrs. claire ruth, with the original envelope and post mark from 1952. my quandry is; for at least the past three weeks i have not known what to do with these treasures. i asked my neighbor dale and he said, "ureeka!!! those are yours because they would be in a landfill if you didn't have them." i have been showing them off and some friends and relatives have said, buy that car you need. i on the other hand have not even taken them to collecters in order to come up with a true monitary value for them. i am in a quandry. i lean towards returning them to my boss', husband and wife, just so i can show them what a wonderful guy i am. on the other hand, for the past three weeks i have imagined what they are worth, but never got them apppraised. i need a car and especially dental work, before this one bad tooth i have causes me extreme pain in the future. so i have decided to let the group consciousness determine what i do. short sweet and simple, i need your opinions.
no joke!!!
now the goose bumps are everests, i just opened my home page of myway.com and this is what it states:
your fortune for today...
look for beauty in your trash.
my horoscope for the day!

you could be all worked up now about the injustice of your role in the world, knowing exactly what the best course of action would be to change things for the better. but the present moment has a convincing quality to it, making it difficult to alter the current course of events. don't confuse intensity with the need to make an important decision now. wait for more clarity and logic.

hi billy,
well you have a great opportunity to be of service with that which you have. so the question you can ask yourself is how can you be of service to others on the best way with this. this really doesn't exclude you doing your dental work and getting yourself a car, they can be essential in being of service to others. it's for some reason dw payed 9000 grand for his theeth
one of which is the lack of health care and social security in the usa
but that's another story.
but maybe the first thing you need to do is getting a good estimation of the value of that which you have, on this way you can see the possibilities you have before you...

Deja Vu
billy, i have had similar situations though none having the potential value of what came to you. beyond all other considerations, ask yourself what would you do if this were a spiritual "test" that the gang on high loves to give us in the hopes that we succeed with flying colors and just keep on rising!
i encourage you to go to your center of "feeling" and just imagine yourself going through the actions of what might be your predominant choice/option and then see how you "feel" -- what is the difference between feelings when visualizing returning the items to their supposed rightful owner and feelings experienced when selling it for $50,000 and getting a few more things than just your teeth fixed. :d be sure to surround yourself in a triple capsule of golden white light to ensure purity of space without unwanted interference when doing this. let the feeling that is most in harmony with who you define yourself to be emerge to guide your actions....and enjoy the ride!
much love,

i had a situation similar to this when i was working at cavalier hotel and found a diamond on the floor behind the register, after a bat mitzvah the previous night in which 2-3 different women insisted on coming behind the register with me to make phone calls rather than have it handed to them across the counter.
i returned the diamond to the hotel lost and found, knowing that one of them might call, having lost it - even though i desperately needed money at the time. dreams and readings later confirmed this was the proper decision.
in a case like this i would get an appraisal of how much it's really worth first. it may not be anywhere near as much as you think - perhaps 1000 bucks at the most, if not less. or, it could be a lot more, but you don't have the information.
then, i would explain the situation to the people who threw it away, and offer to do all the work of making the transaction.
let them decide what is fair. if you come to them saying you can get 10k, they might be content to give you 9 and take 10 percent - whereas if you already go in saying you'll do 50-50, then you may have needlessly given up leverage in the negotiation.
i would say any cut bigger than 50 percent on their part, if they ask for it, is well worth the money, because then you learned something about their character and the status of your friendship. that may be the cosmic point.
it's also possible that if they're well off they might not ask for a cut at all. this is really a barometer to find out what they're all about once you put it back in their hands. just remove the ambiguity around it before speaking to them by getting a real, solid estimate. you don't want wild speculation getting in the way - if they need money and think 10k is coming in and it's only worth 750, the whole game changes.
just my 2 cents after extensive contact with the negotiations that are common practice in hollywood, coupled with a perspective that honors the most important principle in the law of one philosophy - the preservation of the free will of others.

before you make a decision, billy, i would suggest that you put yourself in the hypothetical position of having lost your own great treasure and try to feel what you would like the finder to do with it.
but as you are the finder in this case, perhaps try asking yourself which course of action would best exemplify 'unconditional love'. do your personal needs eclipse love of others as self?
as you have legitimate questions regarding the rightness of keeping this treasure despite suspecting that you know who might possibly have inadvertantly lost it, perhaps you could view this as a test set up by your own higher self to give you the opportunity to balance some of your own karma. do you think this is possible?

My Reply, I disagree
first, attach yourself to matter, that is what you get, it is false in nature. it means nothing. true value is the essence of the heart from which it sprang. a simple thought is made into matter. the value of something is letting go of what you percieve as matter. ethics, which has to do with the heart, has nothing to do with matter, a diamond a gem a value of anything is not. let them all take their money and worship it as if were a god. then you will learn why the last great teacher taught us to do away with the temples that worship money and own people, enslave them, and control them as negative 5-d are attempmting now. weather it was a pebble, a diamond, a piece of sand or what not, if you had no eyes would you know the difference of the value or the truth in your own heart? it is an illusion. it matters not! it is what is created in the heart.
i am all for intention and abundance if used correctly (unselfishily). if not, i care not about your appraisal, value and worth. you are no greater than they that desire riches, not of the heart but of the 3-d (from the 2-d) animal instinct of control/tribal/iconic god of religion. there is no substance to which you refer. these days are fastly fading.
value = heart = love = freedom
no charge at the gate!

Pyramidnj, David and Mark
i so intently have been waiting for a response and guidence for my delema. david, oh if you only knew what your direct response to me has meant. as does the others. i am overwelmed with emotion, especially sinse the wind has picked up and the rain has come. it is silent now. i must confess that my ever growing need to return these finds to their rightful owners has very well out weighed my desire for any kind of monetary gain. i, in posting my delema have been hoping to be dissuaded from returning them. i thought that perhaps if i put it in the terms of proving what a great guy i was, then perhaps it would cause others to think that perhaps i was not such a great guy, because my first instinct was not to simply return these items. i see that as folly now. i, in all divine love, could never part with these great treasures for my own gain. keeping them was more of a reality then selling them. but every fiber of my being had already conceded to the fact that i would in fact return them. i was hoping a judgement would be made as to sway me towards gaining from them, but i see that, that could never happen in such a community of enlightened beings. i certainly believe i am not jumping the gun and posting my desire to return them. but regardless of having to count the votes, for and against, i have become most comfortable in envisioning myself entering my boss' office with them in hand, verses trying to explain to a collecter how i came to have them in my pocession and the lies i might be very convincing in telling him.
may the divine love i have been blessed with, bless all who have endured any quandries of this 3d existence.

billy, it looks like you have indeed found beauty in your trash!

if those were in my possession, i would turn them over to the baseball hall of fame, where they could be kept safe, yet everyone would be able to enjoy the collection. nice chunk of history there.
but before doing that, i would ask around to see if anyone has lost something. then ask lots and lots of questions as to the contents of the collection.
that sort of thing shouldn't be stashed away in some private area and not seen, in my opinion.
i'm scorpio too.
