"a clear explanation does not exist of how these structures formed by natural means. offered this point of view as a geologist, i admit the possibility that it could be a question of not natural, that is to say structures, created by man, or some intelligent entity." - manuel iturralde of the national museum of natural history, havana, considered to be the foremost geologist of cuba.

national geographic magazine will sponsor another underwater exploration of the sunken city off the coast of cuba this fall. russian-canadian oceanographer pauline zelitsky will head the expedition. political differences prevent the us from participating, and much of the work has been done by france and russia. so far, the exploration has been done by remote-controlled mini submarines, armed with video cameras. their provocative images have shown what look like stepped pyramids, extending as far as south america (where these types of pyramids were built by the mayans).

zelitsky's theory is that a peninsula once stretched from the yucatan to cuba, which collapsed due to seismic activity. this reinforces the theory that early man did not arrive in the americas by crossing the bering straits (a land bridge from russia which no longer exists) but instead arrived from asia via the pacific ocean. british archeologists have found human footprints in puebla, mexico that are 40,000 years old. on her early expeditions, zelitsky discovered an underwater city with not only pyramids, but geometrically precise passages, tunnels and temples, many carved with ancient symbols.

according to the investigators, these structures seem to be remains of streets, pyramids and buildings. most of these blocks have gigantic dimensions, reaching to five meters of height and several tons of weight.

    Default Don't Go There!

    hey there, kilik-

sweet post! don't go there, don't smoke the cigars, etc. is what our loving government has been telling us for about the past oh, what, looong time.

and it's such an amazing coincidence, as nelson and i were talking just the other day about planning our next conference, after the grand hotel at mackinac island, in cuba! via brazil, of course, because as we all know, we can't go there, but the back door is wide open!

david, i hope you're done with your movie by then, because havana is smokin'! and not just the cigars.

yeah, it's a part of the old atlantean civilization, one of the western-most areas, but just check out what our military-mightys has been doing in this area the last few years- it's international waters, but: you can''t go there.
they're probablly mining the area for whatever ancient tech and such they can get, and ware-housing it with all the similar booty from iraq.

it's interesting that its only 1/2 mile down underwater. i wonder what causes something to sink, was there a big cavern underneath that collapsed, or was it that the city was simply a beach front town that was caught by some enormous rising tide?

another aspect that might be interesting is the proximity to the mysterious "devil's triangle" which is also located near that part of the world, i wonder if there is some relationship or if it is simply coincidence.

speaking of finding lost items, is there any new info about the hidden chamber under the sphinx? i believe the cayce readings suggested atlantian artifacts would be discovered there.

    Default Finding Atlantis

the problem with current searches for atlantis are that they are based on sightings or educated quesses. there actually is enough scientific information out there to resolve the whole issue - and it involves genetically tracing back the major crops we eat today to their origins, and looking there. here is an 8 minute video that does that:
