    Default 2012, and other things

i am responding to david's recent news article concerning 2012. in it he states that the prophets of the world were not focused on the mayan calendar and 2012 until at least the late 80's and early 90's. this is not exactly correct.

ken carey, in his trilogy, "the starseed transmissions", "the return of the bird tribes", and "the third millenium" started writing about the end of the mayan calendar back in the 70's. in fact, this was his main focus in all three books. these writings are the most powerful, clearest, most poetic and most loving descriptions i have ever read describing what the end of history is all about. and he makes it very clear that preparing for this event is the most important thing anyone can do in these days of rapidly intensifying love energy on this planet and throughout the universe.

there certainly seem cultures that are bent upon the idea of preparation to defer hardship caused by seasonal extremes. in sweden people have long days in summer and short days in winter, and the culture can seem to reflect an attitude of preparing for winter during the summer. in other cultures that are more moderate there seems less of what seems like a sort of genetic predisposition - to arrive prepared, because the moderate climate doesn't pose some risk that may threaten survival.

it may be that 2012 contains some such seasonal element that would put some cultures at advantage in comparison with other cultures, though it may be that this is simply metaphor. in a general sense, there seems a message about coping with change - arriving with an attitude that will foster well being in the face of change may be a baby step in arriving prepared.

in the corporate world there is a book "who moved my cheese?" which plays on the concept of dealing with change. it may be that these sorts of influences help to prepare individuals regardless if they buy into any 2012 thing or not...
