Using your email address as your login

it is perfectly permissible to use your email address as your login name for the forums.

however, it is not advisable to do so... instead, use your real name or a nickname or a combination of letters from your first and last name such as jdoe or johndoe or johnd.

why?

because when you use your email address as your login name, it appears at the top of each post that you make. if you are wanting to keep your email address private, then do not use it as your login name. also, spammers can easily access your email. keep in mind that we do not and will not ever sell your email address to anyone!

just trying to be helpful for those who are wanting to keep their email address private.
