i feel that i have a blockage in meditating and communicating with my higher
self, or anyones higher self for that matter! lol. i am looking for advice on
how to "get in to the gap." it seems that some people can do this quite easily
and other, myself included, have a much harder time. any advice is welcome!

you might like do some research on the net and find out about various
meditation systems and teachers. it is both a very complex and simple
field, where like in any profession or skill, there are better and more
efficient ways to achieve ones goal. the means to achieve the desired out
come are many and varied, and should be harmonious with your personality,
natural inclinations and talents, i.e., not every method or advise is
appropriate for all who are meditating :-)

with much blessings and kind regards,

    adam.

    hi matt,

check out shareguide.com - sept/oct 2004 edition. the special focus
of this edition is meditation. one particular article titled,
"meditation is understanding" is an excerpt from the book, "the first
and last freedom" by j. krishnamurti. in my opinion, this is a great
explanation about the subject of meditation.

    i hope this helps.

    peace be with you,
    helen

what is your current approach to meditation? can you
describe your method? one of the big hurdles i had to
clear was getting rid of unreasonable expectations.
there are many different ways to still the mind, and
different people will benefit from different
    approaches.

    zee here:

    dear matt et al:

we accumulate tensions. those tensions provide obstructions and discontinuities.
i have a document, a script, titled: advanced deep relaxation orientation.
    it is thirteen pages long.
it is also a cd. it lasts 52 minutes.

there are also the exercises. these are other cd's
it commences with quiteness, ease, surveying your body for any point of:
    distraction, disturbance, discomfort or distrstress.
    notice your breathing.
    notice your breathing rhythm.
    soften your abdomen.
relax your chest and loosen your sholders.
your attention situates in your eyes, usually.
you want to mobilize your attention.
you want your attention to follow your in breath.
right at the peak of the in breath, point your attention to any point of:
    distraction, disturbance, discomfort or distrstress.
say, in sequence, one breath following the other,
    touch, soothe, relax, release, retrieve.
say this repeatedly, until you feel the results.

    that will introduce the process.
we can send the script and cd's, if you are interested.
    warm regards,
    zee
