don't know if this remarkable account is genuine or not, but seems to be. i do feel that levitation is definitely possible. as a child i would have recurring dreams, which were vivid that i could levitate just by using my mind to "will" myself to.
has anybody else experienced such dreams?
please feel free to add anything you may know about the subject of levitation.
i read a great book over the weekend by a brilliant uk psychic. there is a chapter in which he mentions a medium many people saw levitate, chair and all, due to spirits who he knew from a previous life who sometimes felt like teasing.
i don't believe that spirits in general cause levitation though.
anyway, here is a levitation performed by an african shaman:
thank you, that truly was a sight to behold! we limit ourselves so so much in what we can do... we are god!! what else can we be, really? if god is the all and the ultimate, the one and only, then we simply must conclude that god cannot create anything less than it's perfect self. last time i checked we are apart of that perfection. it's time we started acting like it! honestly, now we've heard the tales from the masters of old, who have shown us true potential. "these things shall you do, and more." people, we can do whatever we desire. as long as we stop creating limits. as self gods we are creating limits to our own being. let's not do that .
i know. the last thing i thought to myself last night, before falling asleep, was that i have been creating my own limits.
perhaps i'll be swept off my feet some day soon. :d
up, up and away with levitation
i don't want to sound like a wet blanket but our job here in 3d rarely includes chasing after such ephemereal stuff as levitation and other psychic eyeball candy.
i'm reminded of a story of a young accolyte who became enthralled with magical powers and went off on his own, he ended up spending years and years studying the magik needed to enable him to walk on water. he finally met with phenomenal success. the now middle-aged man -- his head filled with his accomplishment -- went to show off his powers to his old teacher. he strode across the waters of the ganges and confronted the aging sage who had had been contemplating his amazing progress from the sandy shore.
the former student swelled up his chest and proudly exclaimed, "see, teacher, what a marvel i have accomplished as the culmination prize of years of dedicated effort!"
but the old man wasn't impressed at all; in fact he said to the water-walker -- using a rather fatherly manner -- "my dear son, you poor thing, all that tedious work. oh my!.. but, but why? didn't you know that for a mere rupee you can simply hire a boat to take you across the river?"
all this magik stuff is transient. it is a dangerous distraction from our real job of living positive polarity... which is in comparison quite mundane, but generates lasting results. personal powers reeks of the negative path.
when we arrive in time/space such marvels of mind come naturally. after playing around with such it becomes meaningless ...and thus dreadfully boring.
and yes, "spirits" from the astral planes can levitate objects during a seance. there is a wealth of suggestive documentation from years back to the present. much of this type of seance work is merely to prove the state of personal existence after death. personally, i've come to the point where i don't question the fact one bit, so levitations and such don't generate much excitement anymore.
one problem with trying to absolutely validate psychic phenomena is that creating an absolute proof of such a demonstration violates the law of confusion.... i.e., one being confronted and convinced against his/her will. such things have to remain foggy, whereas one can reject it and go his/her way.
sorry. the above is rather cumbersome... but i've run out of time. and i promised to convert some wine into water.
my best to all...bbb

can you poor me a glass of that wine?
i often have the same recurring dreams as that, it honestly happens about twice a week . i mentally will myself to fly or to levitate...but its hard to explain as in the dream i feel i am using my mind and it does take a slight degree of focus to reach this state, and sometimes to maintain my levitation or flying.
i concur. and while the idea of levitating myself sounds rather exciting, miracles of this sort are often more useful, i believe, to the negative entity or adept, as they are quite useful for more efficiently abridging the free will of and controlling others. interesting, yes. useful to the positive entity? only as indicators of spiritual progress and not as ends in and of themselves.
Down to Earth
i've been recommended to ground myself, and that's exactly what i need with all the neptunian influence i've got just now in "an uutobiography of a yogi" by yogananda paramhansa there's also a story about a yogi who got seduced by his own ability to materialize all the richies of the world....he became a true "materialist" if you wish:d and had to start all over again
in one of my more recent dreams i was practicing meditation while my friend tom was just sitting watching me from the other side of the room when i began to levitate and i was overjoyed for some reason. i really felt as though the dream was real and i was actually doing it. i remember looking down and seeing the space between me and the ground and the feeling of floating, but then i fell flat on my face as i looked over my legs, lol it was embarrassing but i was so excited in my dream that i did it successfully while my friend was there because it was something i wanted to show him that i could do. yet it's just a dream and my actual powers are nothing like this.

thank you for sharing that - i've read it before, don't know when or where, but a nice reminder.
i guess i'd have to admit, the one ability i'd like to have is telekinesis or the ability to move objects with my mind. however, that is a selfish pursuit, and as mentioned, wouldn't likely offer anything to spiritual growth other than "attention" which could lead to things like "greed", etc., something i don't want. once upon a time i thought it'd be nice to be able to do this so i could say "see?!? these things i am studying are for real!!!".
fortunately, i've given up on that type of "in your face" approach and am content with being subtle. that way, people who "pick up" on my vibe have the free will to ask questions or engage in discussions that would be far more fruitful than any bedazzlement... so far, few takers, but thats ok. i'm content with my current presence on the dc forums for now. :d
p.s. - oh yeah, and that wine comment was priceless! i cannot say enough how much i appreciate a little humor to balance out the more serious topics.
