View Full Version : Should I or shouldn't I?
Hi everyone,
first of all let me introduce myself, since this is my first post here at DcForums.
My name is Gilles and I'm from belgium ^^.
I discovered this site recently, great site btw.. i enjoy hearing David's perspectives.
I was quite stunned when he started to speak about the LoO material.
I've had this material around for like 1 year, maybe 1.5.
Anyway the fact is i'm like only 17 years old.
and about this information synchronisity comes into play, i've had it with all books i've read, which concerning like "New Age stuff" are about 7 or 8 maybe.
I've had it also with the secret (ive had this in my bookmarks for about 6months i guess) and what the bleep do we know.
Now i just made the spontaneous decision to ask:
should or shouldn't i read the law of one?
sounds pretty dull huh :P

sounds pretty dull huh :PNo. I would say probably not. Altho you likely expected a different answer, but the bottom line is; you'd probably be bored stiff. So go ahead, prove me wrong.
What would be much more helpful for you at this stage of your journey, is to just expose yourself to a few of the ideas of the Law of One, and kind of let them simmer in the back of your mind. Read the Study Guide by my friend Bob Childers, PhD, if you're interested and then go from there. This is some pretty deep stuff and it's not exactly for beginners. I started reading the Ra stuff a good 10 years before I really started taking it seriously and actually applying the ideas in my life. I do encourage you to familiarize yourself with the forum here, because you could learn a lot by reading and interacting with the members here.
You can find the Study Guide on this site, or try this alternate link, which is a bit cleaner;
http://www.spiritofra.com/Ra-section%201.htm
Or you can download a nice clean PDF version here;
http://thesonsofthelawofone.com/Resources/Law%20Of%20One%20Study%20Guide.pdf
And there is a sort of condensed alternate version here;
http://www.spiritofmaat.com/archive/sep2/ra.htm
Reading the Law of One has changed my life. In it I finally found a description of the universe which was perfect and resolved many paradoxes and questions. I would recommend starting with the Study Guide as it is more condensed, linear and annotated by David for insight and clarity.

I would recommend at least reading the study guide, then if your interested in a deeper grasp of the material, then read through the whole thing. There are also online search engines that you can use to search through the material.
I expected the answer in a way, I do believe I haven't read it yet for a reason.
Maybe in the past I wasn't ready yet, maybe even now I'm not ready yet.
Well I'll decide in the near future :)
Thanks for the fast response everyone.
I'll definately take a look at the study guide first.

I remember ages ago now, and I don't know why. I used to get quite ill from reading the Law of One first time round.
I think the best thing to do is dip in to the things you are interested in, and never, ever, EVER take it too seriously.
Also www.lawofone.info for specific subjects.
After many years I say I'm still in the process of reading the Law of One the first time around, I confess humbly. It seems as if the circumstances in my life constantly rearange in some way where I feel as if arriving at the wisdom contained within after already having some life experience which somehow fosters the teach learning - as if I arrive to better accept the wisdom than someone who just sits and reads them cover to cover.
If someone asked me about the choice to read the law of one, it would more be a question about the choice to live the law of one - the words in the books as small affirmations as to how it is in some way or another.
(Also, I only seem to read dabbles here and there, at the rate of maybe only a couple pages a week if any at all...I'm such a loaf in some ways.)

When I was 17, most of my concept of spirituality related in a conventional sense to attending church on Sunday. It wasn't until I was 28 that I found a book on "seeking", and so more conscious of being so. It was surprising to me to find that the church I grew up in (Trinity Episcopal of Santa Barbara) has built a Labyrinth on its front lawn. In retrospect, my seeking path seems somewhat Labyrinthian in some way, as if I have stayed true to some early impetus. So maybe the choice to read or not to read is a choice to be true in some way, either consciously or unconsciously.
