Astronomers around the world agree, Comet 17P/Holmes is one of the strangest things ever to explode in the night sky. It's a comet, yet it looks like a planet with a golden core and a green atmosphere.

Golden age is coming?

Wow.

A few years ago I was really into prophecy etc.

This brings to mind Malachi Martin who said to watch the sky, and I believe he also said at some point army's look to the sky and stop fighting, they just stop and lay down their arms. (not a quote, it's been awhile)

How about Zitchin's Planet X?

Or Nostradamus and the 2 suns?

Then there's Ed Dames, who I had pretty much dismissed and still don't really like... but in his killshot movie he mentions an object coming into the solar system and it screws everything up, including massive flares that fry us up good.

But if I was one to still accept prophecy, I'd probably go with Malachi... well Zitchin always had an aura of truth, more like he just believed what he perceived in the ancient texts. Who knows?

Are any comets talked about in any of David's communications? A couple of the 'prophecy's' above also hint at a pole shift as David's mentioned.

This one is really odd... if you click on Zajats link above the site now mentions how the comet has continued to expand and is now 7 times the diameter of Jupiter??? That's is absolutely crazy.

And what makes a comet 'explode' going away from the sun? Does this have more to do with the increasing energy in the solar system? Weird stuff.

Hey Holmes fans,

No, not that porn-star Holmes...the 17P/Holmes comet that you guys have mentioned. ;-)

I suggest that you go to the "New Sciences" section and find a new thread with the title of "Astronomy" for some links and commentary on this fascinating comet and you'll see an echo of Heavyflea's speculation of the higher density of energy in our solar system as being the cause of the sudden "explosion" of the Holmes comet in my own speculation.

It is my bet that the comet is using the higher energy density as an added fuel source for the explosion with our friendly ETs setting it off just at the right moment/place in our solar system. If it was any closer, it may have affected Mars and its inhabitants (mostly, if not all, underground), otherwise I think that it would have been set off sooner for a more dramatic effect.

This astronomy-related, "Strange Comet" thread being in this particular "Divine Cosmos" thread is like a fish out of water; it should have been posted in the "New Sciences" section under the "Astronomy" thread, I think. I actually had a hard time finding this specific thread because I did not expect to find it here in my search of this thread that I had swore that I had seen some Holmes-related thread somewheres in the entire Discussion Board, hence the value of placing the right subjects in the right threads is evident.

I suggest that each time you post something about the subject of any thread, change the subject line to something that is relevant to the central point of your post in that thread and I suggest that for every thread every time. If we all do this, then finding specific posts in threads for specific information would become much, much easier than seeing 10 or more freak'n posts with the exact same subject line with the discussion going off in divergent directions, some of which can be useful in one's research...if one can find it!

So, the central point that I'm making for all of us in this board is to:

make the subject line relevant to the central point of each of your posts, please.

I am in awe that this comet has grown so large - 7 times the diameter of Jupiter as of Nov. 1st, as HeavyFlea stated.

I did some math after hearing that, and I ended up checking it three times and with a friend to see if I calculated right, because I was so amazed. From where I looked, Jupiter is about 142,800 km in diameter, compared to the Sun, which is roughly 1.4 million km in diameter. Since this comet is now 7 x Jupiter's diameter, that means it is relatively 71% the size of the Sun!

I also did some photoshopping and made an image of the comparisons in size of the comet now compared to the planets/sun.

<note: image of solar system is from JPL, I expanded the images size for the purpose of comparison. Also, the planets orbits are not to scale, and there is also a brown dwarf system in the original image in the lower right>

EDIT: < Also, note that the comet is between Mars and Jupiter, and that it is about 241,401,600 kilometers from Earth - again, the orbits in that picture are not to scale>
