Law of One - Initial Contact Made How?

I have been devouring and enjoying all of the Law of One material. I am wondering exactly how the initial contact between Ra and the channels was started? There is some discussion about the arrangement of certain objects around the channel to facilitate communication....anyone familiar with the details?

Don and Carla had been working together for twelve years channeling, researching, and writing two books in the area of metaphysics before I (Jim McCarty) joined them in December of 1980. Unsure of what to do as the first project together, we considered rewriting one of those books, SECRETS OF THE UFO, and I had begun background reading and taking notes. Three weeks later the first Ra contact occurred and was totally unexpected. It happened when Carla was conducting a teaching session in which one of the Sunday meditation group members was learning how to channel. Don sat in on the session, but I was out shopping and happened to walk in through the front door loaded with sacks of groceries just as Don was asking about the earth changes that were anticipated at the end of this cycle of growth. At that point Ra requested a moment to deepen Carla’s trance state before continuing. Such an interruption never happened again because after the second session we prepared another room especially for the Ra contact and continued to use the living room for all other meditations and teaching sessions. This first session is one of only four of the total 106 sessions with Ra in which anyone besides Don, Carla, and I amended. The three of us lived together the harmony that we developed between us was very stable and was a critical ingredient in establishing and maintaining the contact.

Note: As far as Carla giving "channeling lessons" -- such as mentioned above -- she has virtually discontinued doing so because some would-be students couldn't handle the consequences and thus developed psychological complications. (that might serve as a warning to antsypantsies who would eagerly rush in where "angels" fear to tread! :eek: )

I think that Ra has been busy by other means for a long time, and is still quite active - that by way of this thread it may be easy to assume there is only one way to contact Ra which may not neccessarily be how it is.

I think that Carla may be an excellent distance meditation teacher. For a while I participated in her Bring4th groups which all seemed to fizzle (possibly due to my unmoderated rants - sorry about that.) I think that DW does a great job of sustaining an internet group and to he likewise seems a great teacher in a similar way....distance meditation wise.

This may relate to the Altar. To me the elements of the Altar represent very fundamental elements: Earth(bible), Air(censor), Water(chalice), and Fire(candle); the round table as a circle of unity...
