In this article I present abundant evidence that the Maya understood the Great Celestial Conjunction or Galactic Alignment that occurs at the end of their Long Count calendar in terms of the four and eight pointed crosses.
I regard this article as a real eye-opener and break-through in my continued research together with Professor Sergey Smelyakov on the cross symbols in relation to the Great Celestial Conjunction they encode.
It’s from the perspective of the merger of the Earth Cross (Zodiac Cross) and the Galactic Cross (intersection of the Milky Way and the ecliptic) that the Maya encoded the Galactic Alignment in abundance! It’s a vital missing link in unravelling their creation myths that speak of the four World Ages.
