a cool movie of the kaye effect
i came across this while looking through the referrals to gm/bm. this is an incredibly cool video of a strange phenomenon called the kaye effect. it includes high speed video of the effect, and a demonstration of their mathematical analysis of the effect, and their prediction and verification of the effect.
the kaye effect is an incredibly bizarre phenomenon. basically, if you take a substance like liquid shampoo, and allow a thin stream of it to pour down from a height onto a smooth surface, the stream will periodically "bounce", producing a stream leaping up from the point of contact. watch it - it's seriously cool.

i just love technology when it works...
juicing up your cell phone or ipod may take on a whole new meaning in the future. researchers at saint louis university have developed a fuel cell battery that runs on virtually any sugar source - from soft drinks to tree sap - and has the potential to operate three to four times longer on a single charge than conventional lithium ion batteries, they say.

a research team composed of electrochemists and materials scientists from two continents has produced a new form of the industrially-important metal platinum: 24-facet nanocrystals whose catalytic activity per unit area can be as much as four times higher than existing commercial platinum catalysts.
the new platinum nanocrystals, whose "tetrahexahedral" structure had not previously been reported in the metal, could improve the efficiency of chemical processes such as those used to catalyze fuel oxidation and produce hydrogen for fuel cells.
"if we are going to have a hydrogen economy, we will need better catalysts," said zhong lin wang, a regents professor in the school of materials science and engineering at the georgia institute of technology. "this new shape for platinum catalyst nanoparticles greatly improves their activity. this work also demonstrates a new method for producing metallic nanocrystals with high-energy surfaces."
the new nanocrystals, produced electrochemically from platinum nanospheres on a carbon substrate, remain stable at high temperatures. their sizes can be controlled by varying the number of cycles of "square wave" electrical potential applied to them.

internet is spherical with a dense core
tuesday, 19 june 2007by hamish clarke
cosmos online
sydney: the internet is not web-shaped after all. instead, it's more more like a globe, made up of a dense core and sparsely connected outer regions, according to a mathematical analysis of its structure.
analysing the shape, or 'topology' of the internet may seem like an esoteric activity, but according to software engineers led by yuval shavitt, from tel-aviv university in israel, it has practical implications.
"a better understanding of the internet's structure is important in many ways," said shavitt. "we can track the internet's evolution in time and generate predictive models to its growth [which will] help us understand how the internet will look a few years from now so we can plan ahead."
the findings are published this week in the u.s. journal proceedings of the national academy of sciences.

water vortex drives power plant
in a fairly radical departure from the principles that normally govern hydroelectric power generation, austrian engineer franz zotlöterer has constructed a low-head power plant that makes use of the kinetic energy inherent in an artificially induced vortex. the water's vortex energy is collected by a slow moving, large-surface water wheel, making the power station transparent to fish - there are no large pressure differences built up, as happens in normal turbines.
the aspect of the power plant reminds a bit of an upside-down snail - through a large, straight inlet the water enters tangentially into a round basin, forming a powerful vortex, which finds its outlet at the center bottom of the shallow basin. the turbine does not work on pressure differential but on the dynamic force of the vortex. not only does this power plant produce a useful output of electricity, it also aerates the water in a gentle way. indeed, the inventor was looking for an efficient way to aerate the water of a small stream as he hit upon this smart idea of a plant that not only gives air to the medium but also takes from it some of the kinetic energy that is always inherent in a stream.

duckon 2007-steve ward's singing tesla coil video
steve ward's singing tesla coil
this is a solid-state tesla coil. the primary runs at its resonant frequency in the 41 khz range, and is modulated from the control unit in order to generate the tones you hear.
so just to explain a little further, yes, it is the actual high voltage sparks that are making the noise. every cycle of the music is a burst of sparks at 41 khz, triggered by digital circuitry at the end of a "long" piece of fiber optics.
what's not immediately obvious in this video is how loud this is. many people were covering their ears, dogs were barking. in the sections where the crowd is cheering and the coils is starting and stopping, you can hear the the crowd is drowned out by the coil when it's firing.
this tesla coil was built and is owned by steve ward. steve is a ee student at u of i urbana-champaign. he and jeff have been going to teslathons, which is where they met.
it's been suggested that a good name for this coil would be the "zeusaphone". "thoremin" has also been mentioned, though personally i think we need theramin type inputs for that.
to answer a few questions i've received, yes, someone did yell "play freebird!" after the first round of music.

scientists from the california institute of technology have fabricated a motor that runs autonomously, and is powered only by the free energy of dna hybridization. the molecular motor was inspired by bacterial pathogens such as rickettsia rickettsii that propel themselves through host cells by polymerizing protein “comet tails.” the synthetic mimic operates by polymerizing a double-helical dna tail out of metastable dna hairpins (a pattern named for its 180-degree turn).
“propulsive locomotion is achieved by harnessing a hybridization chain reaction (hcr), in which metastable dna hairpins polymerize upon encountering a target molecule,”

i've been researching alternative energy production systems lately.
today, i found this truly amazing new battery technology.
the best part about these new batteries is that when they eventually run out of power they are totally inert and non-toxic.
if all goes well plans are for these cells to reach store shelves in about 2 to 3 years.

saturday october 6 2007
craig venter, the controversial dna researcher involved in the race to decipher the human genetic code, has built a synthetic chromosome out of laboratory chemicals and is poised to announce the creation of the first new artificial life form on earth.
the announcement, which is expected within weeks and could come as early as monday at the annual meeting of his scientific institute in san diego, california, will herald a giant leap forward in the development of designer genomes. it is certain to provoke heated debate about the ethics of creating new species and could unlock the door to new energy sources and techniques to combat global warming.
mr venter told the guardian he thought this landmark would be "a very important philosophical step in the history of our species. we are going from reading our genetic code to the ability to write it. that gives us the hypothetical ability to do things never contemplated before".

last week that thrilling but unsettling goal appeared to have come a step closer with the announcement by craig venter, the maverick scientist, that his laboratory had constructed the world’s first completely synthetic genome.
he described how he had used laboratory chemicals to recreate an almost exact copy of the genetic material found inside a tiny bacterium - and was now attempting to slot it into an empty cell in the hope of creating a new life form."

chicago (reuters) - using dna, the blueprint of life, u.s. researchers said they have made a three-dimensional structure from particles of gold in a development that could lead to a host of custom-designed materials.
the technique helps solve a basic problem in nanoscience: getting impossibly small particles to assemble themselves according to a predetermined design.

http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/2008/oxygen-0731.html
from the article:
"until now, solar power has been a daytime-only energy source, because storing extra solar energy for later use is prohibitively expensive and grossly inefficient. with today's announcement, mit researchers have hit upon a simple, inexpensive, highly efficient process for storing solar energy.
requiring nothing but abundant, non-toxic natural materials, this discovery could unlock the most potent, carbon-free energy source of all: the sun. "this is the nirvana of what we've been talking about for years," said mit's daniel nocera, the henry dreyfus professor of energy at mit and senior author of a paper describing the work in the july 31 issue of science. "solar power has always been a limited, far-off solution. now we can seriously think about solar power as unlimited and soon."
inspired by the photosynthesis performed by plants, nocera and matthew kanan, a postdoctoral fellow in nocera's lab, have developed an unprecedented process that will allow the sun's energy to be used to split water into hydrogen and oxygen gases. later, the oxygen and hydrogen may be recombined inside a fuel cell, creating carbon-free electricity to power your house or your electric car, day or night."
there is a video interview with an mit researcher that's worth watching.
***
now, what i am wondering is: if the public release of the above information is a sign of a sea-change in our contemporary global-economical-political situation. to-date, new discoveries along the lines of the above have apparently been made -- and made public -- by numerous inventors and scientists. what appears to be the case each time is a quick and efficient suppression of their technology, sometimes including the death of the inventor. case in point: stan meyer (http://waterpoweredcar.com/stanmeyer.html).
another recent example of a related breakthrough -- from japan:
on may 26th of this year, endgadget, citing slashdot, posted an article titled "japanese scientist claims breakthrough with cold fusion experiment (http://www.engadget.com/2008/05/26/japanese-scientist-claims-breakthrough-with-cold-fusion-experime/)".
by my research, nothing more followed upon this report, and it made very little press in the u.s. still, i noted that the discovery was made and publicized in japan -- which, according to benjamin fulford, is currently experiencing a systemic liberation from western illuminati control. fulford has repeatedly suggested that the world is due for the unveiling of previously suppressed free-energy techonology. could we be witnessing the playing of exactly this scenario right now?

a patent was granted on march 26, 2002 for "the motionless magnetic generator," meg) us patent 6,362,718, which is likely to become the first commercially available free energy device in history in about one year from now. the machine will provide free electricity from the vacuum, for the life of the device, which should be a very long life since it has no moving parts. you can see a picture of scientist jean louis naudin's meg replication model at:
http://jnaudin.free.fr/html/meg.htm.
it has strong magnets, coils, and a controller unit with the electronics. naudin made the announcement to the meg-builder's yahoo group. the announcement has significance since the patent office has always been skeptical of devices which seem to get-something-for-nothing." but according to the new science of scalar electromagnetics, the meg does not break the law of conservation of energy. it's just that the energy is conserved in the fourth dimension, time, and not our 3-space world.

hello people! ever hear about the the air car? - zero pollution and very low running costs! i read about this last week. we need to be good to mother earth & reduce energy consumption & pollution. many respected engineers have been trying for years to bring a compressed air car to market, believing strongly that compressed air can power a viable "zero pollution" car. now the first commercial compressed air car is on the verge of production and beginning to attract a lot of attention, and with a recently signed partnership with [name], india’s largest automotive manufacturer, the prospects of very cost-effective mass production are now a distinct possibility. the [name] is a simple, light urban car, with a tubular chassis that is glued not welded and a body of fibreglass. the heart of the electronic and communication system on the car is a computer offering an array of information reports that extends well beyond the speed of the vehicle, and is built to integrate with external systems and almost anything you could dream of, starting with voice recognition, internet connectivity, gsm telephone connectivity, a gps guidance system, fleet management systems, emergency systems, and of course every form of digital entertainment. the engine is fascinating, as is and the revolutionary electrical system that uses just one cable and so is the vehicle’s wireless control system. microcontrollers are used in every device in the car, so one tiny radio transmitter sends instructions to the lights, indicators etc
there are no keys – just an access card which can be read by the car from your pocket.
most importantly, it is incredibly cost-efficient to run – according to the designers, it costs less than one euro per 100km (about a tenth that of a petrol car). its mileage is about double that of the most advanced electric car (200 to 300 km or 10 hours of driving), a factor which makes a perfect choice in cities where the 80% of motorists drive at less than 60km. the car has a top speed of 68 mph.
refilling the car will, once the market develops, take place at adapted petrol stations to administer compressed air. in two or three minutes, and at a cost of approximately 1.5 euros, the car will be ready to go another 200-300 kilometres.
as a viable alternative, the car carries a small compressor which can be connected to the mains (220v or 380v) and refill the tank in 3-4 hours.
due to the absence of combustion and, consequently, of residues, changing the oil (1 litre of vegetable oil) is necessary only every 50,000 km.
the temperature of the clean air expelled by the exhaust pipe is between 0 - 15 degrees below zero, which makes it suitable for use by the internal air conditioning system with no need for gases or loss of power.
how does it work?
90m3 of compressed air is stored in fibre tanks. the expansion of this air pushes the pistons and creates movement. the atmospheric temperature is used to re-heat the engine and increase the road coverage. the air conditioning system makes use of the expelled cold air. due to the absence of combustion and the fact there is no pollution, the oil change is only necessary every 31.000 miles. at the moment, four models have been made: a car, a taxi (5 passengers), a pick-up truck and a van. time will tell if we see this car in our local dealership. this is sooo coool! i want one.

"mathematicians at liverpool, working with physicists at the centre national de la recherche scientifique (cnrs) and aix-marseille universite have found that coastal defences could be made 'invisible' when water is guided through a special structure called metamaterial.
metamaterial was first invented by sir john pendry at imperial college london where scientists discovered that this unique structure could bend electromagnetic radiation – such as visible light, radar or microwaves – around a spherical space, making an object within this region appear invisible.
the new structure is cylindrical and consists of rigid pillars that help guide water along concentric corridors. the pillars interact with the water, guiding it in different directions along the corridors and increasing its speed as it nears the centre of the structure - similar to a whirlpool. the water waves, however, are never broken-up and exit the structure as though they had never been disturbed.
dr sebastien guenneau, from the university's department of mathematical science, explains: "defending land against flooding and tidal waves is a big issue for scientists and engineers all over the world. coastal defences have to withstand great forces and there is always a risk of water overtopping or penetrating these structures. water crashes against these defences, breaking the wave and causing a lot of damage to roads and property hidden behind them".

"researchers in greece report design of a new material that almost meets the u.s. department of energy (doe) 2010 goals for hydrogen storage and could help eliminate a key roadblock to practical hydrogen-powered vehicles".
"georgios k. dimitrakakis, emmanuel tylianakis, and george e. froudakis note that researchers long have sought ways of using carbon nanotubes (cnts) to store hydrogen in fuel cell vehicles. cnts are minute cylinders of carbon about 50,000 times thinner than the width of a human hair. scientists hope to use cnts as miniature storage tanks for hydrogen in the coming generation of fuel cell vehicles".

tapping the vortex for green energy
by alexis madrigal october 28, 2008 | 7:35:47 pm
a bane of big oil's offshore rigs could become a boon for renewable energy.
by tapping the natural motion of slow-moving water, a new hydrokinetic generator could open vast new swaths of the ocean for energy production.
when ocean currents flow over any kind of cylinder, like the long cables that hold drilling platforms in place, small vortices are created. they eventually spin away, or shed, causing vibrations that over time can destroy an oil rig's moorings.
now, a university of michigan engineer who long worked on suppressing this phenomenon, has developed a prototype energy-harvester that can capture the mechanical energy it creates.
"about four years ago, it dawned on me that we should enhance the vibrations and try to harness the energy," said ocean engineer michael bernitsas, who has founded vortex hydro energy to commercialize his idea. "no one has ever thought of patenting this idea, even though vortex induced vibrations were first observed in 1504 by leonardo da vinci."
energy experts consider the movement of water in oceans a vast untapped source of clean energy that could provide up to 10 percent of u.s. demand (pdf). a variety of schemes have been proposed to capture this mechanical energy, usually involving turbines to capture fast-moving water generated by tides or a strong current. but few projects have progressed beyond the science project stage. the most advanced is a pelamis wave power project off the coast of portugal, which provides a mere 2 megawatts of power.
one major problem is that most underwater turbines require the water to be moving very fast. one study suggested that hydrokinetic projects only made economic sense in currents moving at over six knots, which are highly rare. it's all the ocean's other currents, which are generally under 3 knots, that bernitsas sees as his technology's main advantage.

keppe motor utilizes the discovery of the principal of the capturing of scalar energy as shown in the book the new physics of dis-inverted metaphysics by norberto keppe it utilizes the bi-directional, resonant energy which forms the universe.
the technology in todays motors uses electrical energy, which is only uni-directional, and as such is the cause of the loss of resistance in wires, as one observes in the heating of motors and much energy is needed to cause their movement. in the keppe motor the movement is mainly caused by the secondary component of electrical energy, which comes directly from the energetic scalar field of space, being that the electrical energy used is only to give a start to the process of capturing this energy. and as a consequence, because we have little consumption of electrical energy, the motor does not heat and because the energy it uses is in accordance with nature, it can benefit it.
through the results obtained in experiments, we can prove that if it is perfected by engineering specialists, it is possible for the motor to generate more energy than it consumes, capable of feeding itself and becoming another means of obtaining energy other than hydroelectric, eolic (wind), coal, gasoline, water etc. keppe motor utilizes the discovery of the principal of the capturing of scalar energy as shown in the book the new physics of dis-inverted metaphysics by norberto keppe it utilizes the bi-directional, resonant energy which forms the universe.

l-beam energy harvester doubles electrical output
by susan trulove
blacksburg, va., november 11, 2008 -- virginia tech researchers have developed an energy harvester that produces greater electrical output than similar technology of the same size -- slightly smaller than a credit card.
energy harvesters -- devices that convert other forms of energy to electricity -- are poised to replace batteries, providing limitless power to a wide range of low-power electronics like medical implants and portable devices.
the new l-beam design provides more than twice the voltage of existing designs, according to inventor alper erturk, a ph.d. candidate in engineering science and mechanics at virginia tech. erturk, of eskisehir, turkey, developed the l-beam energy harvester with co-inventors jamil renno of saida city, lebanon, a recent ph.d. graduate, and dan inman of blacksburg, va., the george r. goodson professor of mechanical engineering and director of virginia tech’s center for intelligent material systems and structures.
just like the sparks made in lighters used to start barbecue grills and fireplaces, the piezoelectric material at the heart of this new technology turns vibrations into electricity. but this l-shaped harvester not only provides more voltage, it also scavenges electricity from a wide range of vibrational frequencies. "this ability significantly expands the applications where the l-beam harvester can be used," said inman.

i wonder if that would disrupt the electrical flow in a heart, if it's wide-range 'scavenging' and it's being used in a 'medical implant', such as a heart monitor or pacemaker?

the following really caught my attention:
trofimov's work has consisted of "remote viewing" experiments across both distance and time. they discovered that results are more positive when the "sender" is in the far north, where the electromagnetic field is less powerful. so they invented a second apparatus that shields an experimental subject from the local electromagnetic field. within this apparatus, their subjects can reliably access all place and time — past, present, and future — instantaneously. construction specifications for these apparati are published in russian scientific literature.
among trofimov and kaznacheev's conclusions are:
1) our planet's electromagnetic field is actually the "veil" which filters time and place down to our everyday newtonian reality — enabling us to have the human experience of linear time,
2) in the absence of an electromagnetic field, we have access to an energy field of "instantaneous locality" that underlies our reality,
3) that the limiting effect of the electromagnetic field on an individual is moderated by the amount of solar electromagnetic activity occurring while that person was in utero, and
4) that once a person has accessed these states, his or her consciousness remains so enhanced.
what i immediately thought of was that our planets magnetic shielding has been reducing for some time now if i recall correctly. if that continues as i suspect it will, then that "veil" will continue to lift or "thin out" as time goes forward (well our linear perception of it) and more and more people will experience things in regards to space, time, singularity of consciousness etc. that would tie in nicely with a lot of things i read about global changes in consciousness as we progress towards 2012. i think we will be able to tap in or experience what all others have experienced in this and other incarnations. sounds wild and like an immense overload on our brains, but that's what i currently feel may very well occur. if so it would be a very humbling experience. we will know the pains we've caused others via racism, sexism etc. that would have a humongous effect on how we would treat our fellow brothers and sisters of this beautiful blue globe. a true awakening!
does that make sense to anyone?
well now i'm heading off for some profound meditation (i hope!).

....meditation still is a problem for me because of the brainwash i went through where the guru used it as a tool of control and manipulation...
i'm using any thread to examine my different subpersonalities; this one is of course "scientifical" but in a childish and shadowy way i try to break taboos.
this kind of machines require a healthy ego with clear boundaries. as for me i think i will start my days with "we are the wanderers". i actually feel like i'm in heaven singing that song with my gutiar as the assisting "machine".

world first for strange molecule
by victoria gill
science reporter, bbc news
a molecule that until now existed only in theory has finally been made.
known as a rydberg molecule, it is formed through an elusive and extremely weak chemical bond between two atoms.
the new type of bonding, reported in nature, occurs because one of the two atoms in the molecule has an electron very far from its nucleus or centre.
it reinforces fundamental quantum theories, developed by nobel prize-winning physicist enrico fermi, about how electrons behave and interact.
the rydberg molecules in question were formed from two atoms of rubidium - one a rydberg atom, and one a "normal" atom.

hi everyone,
i am flying! it's 3:11am and i just got done watching the 60 minutes video on cold fusion that came out on sunday. i was listening to the myth or logic radio episode "james martinez - surviving the financial meltdown" where he talked about how cold fusion could change our whole financial system and he said that there was a story out on sunday from 60 minutes. that was like a burst of energy in my head! i checked it out. absolutely crazy! please everyone take a second and check it out too. it has already been pulled from the 60 minutes website, but you can find it on youtube. search youtube "cold fusion 60minutes". it is even a bit hidden there, so i suggest that if you have the program "snagit" or a similar video grabbing software get it, save it and pass it along. i'm sure it will be pulled down some more before it becomes way more viral than any pig flu could ever be. i plan on making sure every science teacher in my district knows about it! cold fusion for the uninitiated is basically a "free" way to make power that was discredited about 20 years ago. the two top scientists who came out with the process lost everything and were discredited. now, the best independent physics scientists from around the world and even the us government back the new evidence. after having everything stripped away from them, it is great to see that at last these two fellows have some semblance of vindication for their work. david is also a regular on the myth or logic podcast so please check out the martinez podcast and all of david's as well. just google search "talkshoe myth or logic radio". you can download them all for free. i can't wait to hear everyone's comments! this is history in the making.

i'm a canadian, and we have a news station here called cbc. last night, on "the passionate eye", a documentary programme, the show was about how gm developed an electric car, but took/recalled on the threat of criminal prosection, every single one of them and shredded them.
there was an expose on mostly the politics of california, but also allegations that led straight to dubya's white house. the bottom line is that the powers that be wanted to protect oil interests.
the thing is, the cars were found to have zero emissions, and with development, would've been safe, affordable and a viable option for 90% of the population. the only downside was that it had to be recharged after 90 miles.....
so i'm hearing about government bailouts for gm from not only the american government, but also 12% ownership by canadians. it makes me wonder if the gm decision makers are also run by factions who do not have the best interests of the people or the planet at heart? karma rearing it's ugly head?
and will the electric car rise like the pheonix again? it would be nice to have the option of this.....sheesh, i didn't even know about it until last night. so much for gm's statement that the people didn't want them.

another world underneath a drop of water (part 1)
pureinsight.org
in the book “messages from water” are marvelous photographs of hexagonal crystals. some crystals are clear and some are hazy; some are intricate and some are simple.
at first glance, the photographs appear to be the masterful work of a great photographer. however, when one looks closely at the captions of the photographs, one will see that the photographs are results of a scientific experiment. they are the snapshots of water crystallization taken under a microscope by the author dr. masaru emoto, head of the hado institute (ihm corporation) in tokyo, and his research team.
according to what was described by the chief researcher in the experiment, the following procedure was used: while in a laboratory set to –5 degrees c, a researcher takes out a glass container from a refrigerator and quickly puts it under a microscope that has a camera mounted to it. a drop of water that has been exposed to a unique mind-intent, language, form of music, word, or physical factor is placed in the container and becomes frozen, forming a small ice hummock.
when the light from the microscope shines on it, it causes the ice to start to melt. at the top of the ice hummock, a water crystal is quickly formed which can only survive for a few seconds. the biggest challenge for the experimenters is to focus the camera rapidly enough to capture the beautiful image.

spray-on liquid glass is about to revolutionize almost everything.
more information: nanopool: http://www.nanopool.eu/couk/index.htm
ref: (physorg.com)
-- spray-on liquid glass is transparent, non-toxic, and
can protect virtually any surface against almost any damage from
hazards such as water, uv radiation, dirt, heat, and bacterial
infections. the coating is also flexible and breathable, which makes
it suitable for use on an enormous array of products.
the liquid glass spray (technically termed “sio2 ultra-thin layering”)
consists of almost pure silicon dioxide (silica, the normal compound
in glass) extracted from quartz sand. water or ethanol is added,
depending on the type of surface to be coated. there are no additives,
and the nano-scale glass coating bonds to the surface because of the
quantum forces involved. according to the manufacturers, liquid glass
has a long-lasting antibacterial effect because microbes landing on
the surface cannot divide or replicate easily. liquid glass was
invented in turkey and the patent is held by nanopool, a family-owned
german company. research on the product was carried out at the
saarbrücken institute for new materials. nanopool is already in
negotiations in the uk with a number of companies and with the
national health service, with a view to its widespread adoption.
the liquid glass spray produces a water-resistant coating only around
100 nanometers (15-30 molecules) thick. on this nanoscale the glass is
highly flexible and breathable. the coating is environmentally
harmless and non-toxic, and easy to clean using only water or a simple
wipe with a damp cloth. it repels bacteria, water and dirt, and
resists heat, uv light and even acids. uk project manager with
nanopool, neil mcclelland, said soon almost every product you purchase
will be coated with liquid glass. food processing companies in germany
have already carried out trials of the spray, and found sterile
surfaces that usually needed to be cleaned with strong bleach to keep
them sterile needed only a hot water rinse if they were coated with
liquid glass. the levels of sterility were higher for the glass-coated
surfaces, and the surfaces remained sterile for months.
other organizations, such as a train company and a hotel chain in the
uk, and a hamburger chain in germany, are also testing liquid glass
for a wide range of uses. a year-long trial of the spray in a
lancashire hospital also produced “very promising” results for a range
of applications including coatings for equipment, medical implants,
catheters, sutures and bandages. the war graves association in the uk
is investigating using the spray to treat stone monuments and grave
stones, since trials have shown the coating protects against
weathering and graffiti. trials in turkey are testing the product on
monuments such as the ataturk mausoleum in ankara.
the liquid glass coating is breathable, which means it can be used on
plants and seeds. trials in vineyards have found spraying vines
increases their resistance to fungal diseases, while other tests have
shown sprayed seeds germinate and grow faster than untreated seeds,
and coated wood is not attacked by termites. other vineyard
applications include coating corks with liquid glass to prevent
“corking” and contamination of wine. the spray cannot be seen by the
naked eye, which means it could also be used to treat clothing and
other materials to make them stain-resistant. mcclelland said you can
“pour a bottle of wine over an expensive silk shirt and it will come
right off”.
in the home, spray-on glass would eliminate the need for scrubbing and
make most cleaning products obsolete. since it is available in both
water-based and alcohol-based solutions, it can be used in the oven,
in bathrooms, tiles, sinks, and almost every other surface in the
home, and one spray is said to last a year. liquid glass spray is
perhaps the most important nanotechnology product to emerge to date.
it will be available in diy stores in britain soon, with prices
starting at around £5 ($8 us). other outlets, such as many
supermarkets, may be unwilling to stock the products because they make
enormous profits from cleaning products that need to be replaced
regularly, and liquid glass would make virtually all of them obsolete.

franklin chang-diaz, a former astronaut and a physicist at the massachusetts institute of technology (mit), says reaching the red planet could be dramatically quicker using his high-tech vasimr rocket, now on track for liftoff after decades of development.
the variable specific impulse magnetoplasma rocket -- to give its full name -- is quick becoming a centerpiece of nasa's future strategy as it looks to private firms to help meet the astronomical costs of space exploration.
...scaled-down models of the vasimr craft have been built and tested in a vacuum, under a deal with nasa.
the next major step, according to chang-diaz, will be orbital deployment at the end of 2013 of a vessel using the 200-kilowatt prototype vasimr engine, the vx-200.
talks are underway with fellow space firms spacex and orbital science corp to make that a reality.
despite the hurdles ahead, chang-diaz sees the potential for a vast market for his technology -- maintaining and repairing fixing satellites or launching robotic and commercial missions to mars. -yahoo news

powering cars & homes
with water & sunlight
in this clip, dan nocera presents the technology which he's developed that will handle virtually all of the world's foreseeable energy needs.
mit owns the patent to nocera's hydrogen splitter but the technology is "open source" and scientists are invited to come up with as many useful applications for it as possible.
in the future, according to nocera, individuals will essentially produce all of their own energy needs; to power their cars, to heat/cool their homes, etc., using just water
and sunlight plus a tank with which to store hydrogen. this is what he means by "personalized energy."
gone will be the gas station. gone will be the fighting of senseless wars to control outmoded, toxic fuels from other countries.
gone will be the burning of coal to create electricity for a mass power grid. gone will be the cyber wars and emp attacks against the power grids. gone will be the power grid, itself.
in his words, the future "is really not that bad."

what is orbo technology?
orbo is a technology that creates energy from magnetic interactions. orbo provides free, clean and constant energy at the point of use.
orbo is a platform technology that can be engineered to power anything from a phone to a fridge to a car.
orbo technology is controversial - science tells us that energy can not be created - yet orbo does this. orbo is an over unity technology - it provides more energy out than is put in.
orbo is a result of many man years of technological development using a "victorian science" approach. it is a technology that has been derived phenomologically, through test, implementation and retest.
orbo technology is available under license to developers through steorn's online learning, collaboration and development platform, the skdb.
steorn's final pre-launch demonstration of its orbo technology, proving overunity.

the toroid or torus has been described as our living biosphere. we can see these things in the electromagnetic shield around the earth and ourselves. this torus is centered in our heart, which is the center of the green ray. many of the “free energy devices” are based on the technology of the torus. when i hear about all these technologies being suppressed by the “powers that be”, it equates to me as our collective ego suppressing the collective technology of our heart. this also means, to release the heart technologies, the majority of us must release our own hearts from our own egos. the more people who are able to ‘break the walls around our own heart’ the more the collective ‘walls’ will break down in our collective community giving the freedom to release our heart technology.

the toroid or torus has been described as our living biosphere. we can see these things in the electromagnetic shield around the earth and ourselves. this torus is centered in our heart, which is the center of the green ray. many of the “free energy devices” are based on the technology of the torus. when i hear about all these technologies being suppressed by the “powers that be”, it equates to me as our collective ego suppressing the collective technology of our heart. this also means, to release the heart technologies, the majority of us must release our own hearts from our own egos. the more people who are able to ‘break the walls around our own heart’ the more the collective ‘walls’ will break down in our collective community giving the freedom to release our heart technology.

been a while since ive posted anything so first off ill say hello to everyone, yes im still kicking xd.
the airship will no doubt have many uses, though it would undoubtably fall short in many areas due to the fact that it would not be able to go much higher than a few thousand feet at best because of the thin air. being a 'floating' type craft will solve the noise and fuel issue for sure, but i feel this will eventually turn into a gimmic for the rich rather than becoming a productive utillity, but who knows these things. still interesting.
