i can't remember who posted this link.

i looked through the site...has anyone actually read the book?

also...basically jesus was either sto or sts correct...or was he beyond this
classification?

if there was a crucifixion scam etc...doesn't that take away from the
character of who he was (basically portrayed as very sto)...does that make
sense?

we've ordered the book, but it hasn't come yet. if no one else reads/posts
it first, i'll let you know.

-im getting in over my head by responding here, so ill keep this
breif, but i believe old jc was the perfect definition of sto, and on
the basis of seth speaks, in my opinion, i dont know if id classify
the crucifixion as a scam. it didnt actually occur, but yet it was
still a very real event in our collective minds - once again someone
who has a detailed understading of the way this is explained in seth
speaks could explain this more clearly.

perhaps, but actually we're using jesus merely as an
example of a person who was highly polarized in the
sto direction. whether the myth is true or not, it
still serves our purpose as an example.

can you give us a taste of the evidence that proves
jesus is a fraud (or whatever the thesis of the book
is)?

thanks,

jeremy

>it never said anything about jesus being a fraud at all... the fraud part is how the roman catholic church basicall re-wrote the entire new testament and that although there are some truths in it, it is basically a fictional non-fiction piece of work. this guy spent 12 years in deep research and makes massive cross reference notes and bibliographical data. it was hard to discount his information, especially with a bible on my lap and a highlighter in my hand! however, i'm offering this with no yes or no, right or wrong. this is just what the book said.

>here's a few examples that i remember, although there are many many more. the people back then weren't given "christian" names like we are now. their names came from their personalities as well as their locale and other aspects of their lives.

>3a. you've heard of agape? i thought it was the ultimate love of god for his people... back then, agape mean love feast. a love feast waseating human flesh (usually babies), drinking blood (where the eucharist came from) and having orgies. judas was known to partake sexually with some of his male disciples as well as all the rest. (long story with that one too)

>4. judas is the one that was sentenced to crucifixion due to his attempt to overthrow the roman empire. back then they had a law that allowed one sentenced to such a death to choose a proxy to die in his place. judas took that option and an innocent man died on the cross for him yet the population thought it was he, (this is a long story and full of documentation) hence the "resurrection" when he showed up again.

hi cindi,
i just finished a book you might find interesting covering similar
topics to bible fraud - it's called the templar revelations by lynn
picknett & clive prince - sorry i haven't commented before now but
i've been offline for a couple of weeks.

i don't think it has as many 'revelations' as the bible fraud one,
but it examines the new testament as propaganda, identifying what was
obviously missed out, such as john the baptist and mary magdalene
material, and also looks as the mystery schools and the links between
basic 'christian' beliefs and the egyptian isis cult. there are
obviously differences between the two books, this one is more a
collection and reinterpretation of new testament analysis, for
example, it questions the assumption that jesus was a jew - although
he might have been jewish ethnically, apparently his religion being
jewish is never mentioned in the gospels... :-)

in reply to seths query about whether he should tell his brother
about inaccuracies in the standard representation of the jesus story,
i've kind of taken the point of view that for people i know who
appear to 'need' their church, as a sort of crutch or drug, to take
that away would be damaging to them. however, i will continue to
encourage them to examine and question why they believe what they do -
i honestly think that the people i know who are deeply involved with
their church would immediately dismiss any opposite point of view -
such is the power of the church over some people.

however, i have already suggested to other people who have a less
rigid belief system, but which is based in the traditional christian
mode, that they read it - it makes you think if nothing else.

peace & good wishes
lorna
