Rainbow Bodies

i have recently become aware of a phenomenon called "rainbow body." supposedly, you can be taught a kind of meditation in which you can turn yourself into a light crystalline substance and become immortal. this was taught by the aseens (i am not sure if i spelled that right) who some people believe is the precursor to christianity. this sounds amazing to me and i was wondering if anyone else had more information on this topic. the link below is where i came across this topic.

good day to all. some years ago while reseching the harmonics of sound,color and vibration, i came across a work that deals with this extensively by christoper hills called nuclear evolution-discovery of the rainbow body published in 1977. he is well grounded in science and study of yogic practises that engage the birthing of the rainbow body. he also founded a university in california called university of the trees that is designed aound this. i highly recommend this work but do not know if it is still in print.
also if you read the book called, " the tibetan book of living and dying" authored by sogyal rimpoche ,there is an account given of an adept that left his physical body and manifested the rainbow body soon after his passing. i hope this is helpful. cheers!

you will come across me bringing up dr. gibson a while ago(post #28 of that link). he was instrumental in my solar meditation tune up/tune in(beginning of 2007) and i have read his book, [name] and have gotten a number of his meditation cd's that get into sanskrit mantras and readings which are and have been very good for me.

why not check his site out online...lots of information there. there is a link in his interview reading at conscious media network.

i assume you guys know that the 7 chakras colors are the same color of a rainbow. same sequence etc..... now that kinda cool

and there a double arch in the rainbow.... if you look close, you will see 2, 1 above the other, like a window to view through

one interesting similarity just occurred to me.

another thing that is mentioned in the interview, that i referred to up above, is that the person meditating passes through each color of the rainbow and then turns into a "ball of light".

dw mentioned in his latest video that in one of his readings he learned the ultimate goal for each separate chakra is to be condensed down, or joined together, into one "ball of light".

what a coincidence, isn't it?

this thread brought memories back when i was researching subtle bodies. depending upon the source, i believe the rainbow body to be one of these...

I would think this subject to have A LOT more information and opinions on it. . .

This group of people on the forums could be considered 'advanced' to say the least. And the Rainbow body is so utterly vital to a full and balanced preception of ourselves.

Why this subject doesn't have it's own section on the DC is almost puzzling to me.

In my personal reasearch the rainbow body has become a focial point. If you're really intrested in finding out who and what you are. . . The Rainbow Body is the first and last step.

Did you know the earth also has a rainbow body?

I can assume that other worlds, with intelegent life, exist. And that there is light on those worlds as well. And that any spicies with our acknoldgement of science would have discovered the deflection of light as well. The spectrum of color may be slightly diffrent from a diffrent sun. . . But that light could be seen in a spectrum just as well.

In fact if we are made of light. . . Then the rainbow body (chakra system) would be direct simplafied evidence of that. AND if other beings in other solar systems were also light they would be built upon there own unique spectum from there own unique sun.

This just adds to the curiousity of the rainbow bridge. . .from one spectrum to another?

If our eyes have developed to precieve the rainbow spectrum from our yellow sun then that is the spectum we will look for in other stars. . . However if our eyes developed from a diffrent sun, say a red giant would we see another spectrum? Maybe a slightly diffrent visable light? I suppose this gets into the idea of alternate dimentions. . . Only visible to those in that dimention. . .

And I don't know about you but going into a deep state of being and transforming into pure light sounds like a pretty sweet way to leave this planet. I sure don't want to be burried in the dirt and left to rot!

Could humanity be prepaired to move into a "light body" of some kind, as the mystical prophecies of Zoroaster, the founding fathers of America and others seem to have suggested? William Henry and Dr. Mark Gray reveal the widespread prevalence of light-body references in numerous ancient traditions - where the human body is transfigured into a new form.

In Sufism it is called "the most sacred body" and the "supracelestial body." Taoist call it "the diamond body," and those who have attained it are called "the immortals" and "the cloudwalkers." Yogic schools and Tantrics call it "the divine body." In Kriya yoga it is called "the body of bliss." In Vadanta it is called "the superconductive body." The ancient Egyptions called it "the luminous body or being" (akh) or the karast. This conception evolved into Gnosticism, where it is "the perfect body.". . . In the Hermetic Corpus, it is called "the immortal body." In the alchemical tradition, the Emerald Tablet calls it "the golden body."

Tibetan Buddhism has ongoing reports of the "Rainbow Body" to this very day - in which people transform their physical bodies into a new, rainbow-colored energetic form after many years of practice. In many cases, they would complete this process of transformation by meditating in a cave. When they come out, and are ready to graduate to this next level of there own eveloution, they will often push their hand or foot directly into the stone. They can now easily flip the stone molecules into time-space, and leave an impression behind - and some of these handprints and footprints
have been photographed and published online. There are fully 160,000 documented cases of the Rainbow Body in Tibet and India alone.

Body of Light: Tibetan, ja-lus. Also known as the "rainbow body." Certain realized beings . . . achieved the transformation of their ordinary bodies into a Body of Light. . . . In this process the physical body dissolves into its natural state, which is that of Clear Light. As the elements of the body are purified, they transform from their gross manifestation (body,flesh, bone, etc.) Into their pure essence as the five colors: blue, green, white, red and golden yellow. As the body dissolves into these five colors a rainbow is formed, and all that remains of the physical body are fingernails and hair. This is right out of Davids latest book. It doesn't say a whole lot more than this but still it's something I find highly intresting. Also I find it curious that the five basic colors mentioned by Namkhai Rinpoche, in the book Body of Light, are also the five sacrid directions of the Mayan religions.

I was privileged enough to get to see what I think was my rainbow body before learning it may actually exist...but I saw it while dreaming I think...but now after learning about them I think the reason I got to see it had to do with my health, or lack thereof, at the time.

My rainbow body, or slightly identical immortal version body, had to drop in for some divine intervention work it seems like to me because I saw it, back in 2006ish, when I wasn't getting hardly any sun, exercise, water/nutrition, etc.

but I was getting tons of silent/contemplative meditation...

and one night I woke up on my back, and I never sleep on my back, and I was shaking extremely badly, like all of my muscles were getting an electric shock workout, then when I attempted to end the shaking I heard the words, "we're trying to help..." so I just let it continue.

then I saw a slightly transparent rainbow colored body the same size as me close in front of me, facing me, while the rainbow colors lit up, and constantly moved all over it, but not so much in the eye sockets.

I kept seeing the eye socket outline right in my face, when I would close my eyes, for a while before getting to see the whole body and for a while after. When I close my eyes now I can still kinda see them, but only when I want to, and not as well as I could back when I was likely on the verge of death.
