I have spoken via e-mail with Ian's (the guy doing the presentation) wife many times. He was extremely passionate about sharing this information regarding the Mayan Calendar and actually developed a codex that can be ordered to tell the Mayan date equivalent to any date on our Gregorian Calendar. They actually traveled the country together just doing this presentation and making barely anything in the process. You'd have to really believe what you're doing in order to do that. In my opinion, he was a great man. His website is worth checking out and the QandA section on it goes into depth about some unanswered questions in the videos. His (Ian's) site: www.mayanmajix.com

I happened upon this wonderful movie on youtube today, there are beautiful shots of the Mayan temples, best of all is the explanation of writings on the temple steps, showing the different stages of evolution and how it is exponetially speeding up. There is another movie called welcome to the "big solar cycle" that is good as well. I haven't watched all of the movies by this person on the page but it appears that most of them deal with spitiual growth. what's amazing is it was posted 4 months ago and now has over 55,811 hits Check it out. donald

2012 - THE MAYAN FINAL AGE
2012 is sometimes claimed to be a great year of spiritual transformation or apocalypse. Many interpret the completion of the thirteenth B'ak'tun cycle in the Long Count of the Maya calendar (which occurs on December 21) to mean there will be a major change in world order. The Mayan civilization was and is the most advanced in relation to time-science knowledge. Their main calendar is the most accurate on the planet. It has never erred. They actually have 22 calendars in total, covering the many timing cycles in the Universe and Solar System.
In Mayan mythology each Long Count cycle is a world age in which the gods attempt to create pious and subservient creatures. The First Age began with the creation of the Earth, and it had upon it vegetation and living beings. Unfortunately, because they lacked speech, the birds and animals were unable to pay homage to the gods and were destroyed. In the Second and Third Ages the gods created humans of mud and then wood, but these also failed to please and were wiped out. We are currently in the Fourth and Final Age, the age of the modern, fully functional human. Is it possible that these Ages referred to evolutionary change? What might occur when the current age finishes on December 21, 2012?
The tzolkin calendar is said to spring from the Sacred Tree. The Sacred Tree is at the center of Mayan Creation Myths. Lord (Ahau) Pacal by way of divine kingship, is equated with the sun, and he is portrayed "entering" the Sacred Tree. The day the sun conjuncts with the crossing point of ecliptic and Milky Way would be an important date. In the pre-dawn skies of this date, the Milky Way would be seen to arch overhead from the region of Polaris (Heart of Sky) and would point right at where the sun rises. This is the only date when the Sun/Lord could jump from the ecliptic track and travel the Milky Way up and around the vault of heaven to the region of Polaris, there to enter the "Heart of Sky." 1300 years ago Polaris was much less an exact "Pole Star" than it is now. It wasn't a Pole Star that the Maya mythologized in this regard, it was the unmarked polar "dark region" symbolizing death and the underworld around which everything was observed to revolve. Life revolves around death - a characteristically Mayan belief. These dates change with precession.

I watched a different presentation by Ian and I do believe it is a must see for anyone interested in the Mayan Calendar. As he likes to say, "we are on a schedule!" He breaks it down so you can really see that we are on a precise schedule and time is speeding up, or expanding, like the bandwidth of your internet. There is more info coming through at one time which can seem overwhelming, which is why he spends a lot of time teaching how to be "in the zone" in the years to come. David says to be the "eye of the storm" in the years to come because things are going to seem to be going so fast and furious that you may feel you are losing your mind. Stay "in the zone." Must see documentary! Thanks!

I saw this about eight months ago and I have to say that it was the ignition point for the begining of my evolution as it were.
It was like a light went on in my head - like "Oh My God!!" I get it now (actually I`m still in the process of "getting it").
After showing the video to others, I have found that what was a catalyst for me , may not inspire someone else.

I have been checking the daily Tzolkin every day at www.mayanmajix.com and find it easier to keep my focus on the day's intent, I found this posted today about the Trecenas and though it would be good to share. find peace in your heart and let it spread to the world and beyond, love Donald
Trecenas are thirteen-day periods in the Tzolkin. Each Trecena starts with the Number 1, but with a different Day Glyph. Like a wave, the underlying energy is governed by the First Day Glyph of the Trecena and influences all thirteen successive Day Glyphs. Being aware of the predominant energy of the First Day of the Trecena, we can align our intentions with that energy and allow our goals to manifest.
Today (Gregorian date: June 13, 2007), the Trecena starts with 1 Ik (Wind) – spirit, chi, the spark of divinity that is the common thread running though all life. Wind is change; nothing stays the same. Welcome change. Flow with change. Realize that with change comes a whole new set of possibilities.
Wind energy enables us to feel more clearly the life force or chi that connects all living beings. As the winds of change blow all around you, be sure to focus on staying grounded. Intend to make a positive change in your life this Trecena. Take advantage of a new opportunity. Let go and allow the Wind energy to manifest your new reality.
As we journey through each Day of this Trecena (1 Ik, 2 Akbal, 3 Kan, 4 Chicchan, 5 Cimi, 6 Manik, 7 Lamat, 8 Muluc, 9 Oc, 10 Chuen, 11 Eb, 12 Ben, 13 Ix), think about the energies of Ik (Wind) and how they might influence that particular day.

Mayan Year of Destiny - 2012
by John Van Auken,
Editor of the Ancient Mysteries Newsletter, an A.R.E.
At present, the year 2012 is only of interest to those of us who believe in the wisdom of ancient cultures. But soon, very soon, everyone is going to be looking for more information about this Mayan prophesied year of destiny, which many believe to be the end of the Mayan calendar and thus the end of time as we have known it. Let’s look at this calendar and date more closely.
The Long Count Calendar
Actually, it all began with a discovery that has been known for decades about the culture that invented what is known as the Long Count Calendar. On the Pacific coastal plain of Chiapas, Mexico, a few miles from the Guatemala border, the astrological observatory of the Izapa civilization was located. Some believe that the Izapa were the transitional culture between the older Olmec civilization and the emerging Maya; others believe the Izapa were Olmecs.
For almost a thousand years the Long Count Calendar was recorded by the Izapa on monuments and ceramic vessels. Most of the dates refer to local, mundane events, like the crowning of a specific king. However, some of the Long Count monuments refer to mythological events that occurred at the beginning of the current “World Age” that we are living in and which is soon coming to an end.
Time Cycles
Scholars have figured out how the Long Count Calendar correlates with our own Gregorian calendar (using a lot of arithmetic), so we know that the legendary time of the beginning of our present World Age – when all the values were set to zero – occurred on August 11, 3114 BC. And using a complex system of Mayan Baktuns (measurements of time), we can calculate when their calendar reaches a new zero point – basically, every 13 Baktuns (5,125 years), the Long Count resets to zero – the calculated time when our present World Age ends and a new cycle of time commences.
Creation, Fall, and Resurrection
Several Creation monuments describe events that occurred in 3114 BC. The texts associated with these Creation monuments state that “creation happens at the Black Hole,” at “the Crossroads,” and “the image” will appear in the sky. The Maya adopted the Izapa calendar, creation myths, and time cycles counting method.
The renowned researcher and author Linda Schele (in Freidel, Schele, and Parker’s Maya Cosmos) wrote: “I realized that every major image from Maya cosmic symbolism was probably a map of the sky. . . . [The] patterns in the Milky Way and the constellations were directly related to the Maya vision of Creation.” Her realization has opened the door to understanding the Mayan cosmology and prophecy.
In order to grasp the Mayan message, we need to understand a little about how they saw the sky and how events in the sky indicated times of death, rebirth, and the passage of time for souls living in this galaxy and in this solar system.
The Milky Way is their major image in the sky. As we know, we live on the outskirts of our galaxy and the Milky Way is the dense cluster of stars when looking toward the center of our galaxy. It appears as a long strip of stars in the sky above us. For the Maya, the rising, passing, and descending of the Milky Way in the sky marked major points in the cycle of time. Also, parts of the Milky Way and other stars prominent in our sky have specific meaning to our lives and the history of humanity and the heavenly realms, the realms of the gods.
To the Maya, the Milky Way’s major features and the changes in its position and shape during the night reveal our origin, passage, and destiny. They are the Tree of Life; the Celestial Crocodile that gnaws at the Tree of Life; the Cosmic Canoe of the “Paddler gods” that follows after the Crocodile; the “lying down sky,” or Black Dream Place; and seven stars in the Big Dipper, representing the egocentric Seven Macaw, who attempted to take the place of the Sun.
Simplistically, the heaven passage tells the story of the rise of the Tree of Life at sunset, followed by the rise of egoism and self-seeking (as seen in Seven Macaw), which brings the rise of dangerous lower urges that crawl on their belly (as the cursed serpent in the Garden of Eden) and attack the rising of life. But these are driven off by the Paddler gods, and eventually the Tree of Life is reborn and rises again near dawn – the complete story of the rise, fall, and resurrection of life.

Trecenas are thirteen-day periods in the Tzolkin. Each Trecena starts with the Number 1, but with a different Day Glyph. As a wave of the Thirteen Heavens, the underlying energy is governed by the First Day Glyph of the Trecena and influences all thirteen successive Day Glyphs. Being aware of the predominant energy of the First Day of the Trecena, we can align our intentions with that energy and allow our goals to manifest.
Today (Gregorian date: June 26, 2007), the Trecena starts with 1 Men (Eagle) – free spirited, bringer of faith and knowledge, new beginnings, spark of divine creation, global visionary due to Eagle’s view from above illuminating the whole picture.
Eagle energy is conscious, focused action towards achieving a material or spiritual goal.
Eagle energy elevates our spirit to new heights – a new perspective of looking at the situation as it relates to the whole picture. Eagle represents the wholeness in spirit, body and mind that we all strive for.
Eagle energy shifts our viewpoint to the galactic level and encourages us to be balanced between Heaven and Earth focused on what’s important in our lives and also our ultimate destiny.
As we journey through each day of this Trecena (1 Men, 2 Cib, 3 Caban, 4 Etznab, 5 Cauac, 6 Ahau, 7 Imix, 8 Ik, 9 Akbal, 10 Kan, 11 Chicchan, 12 Cimi, 13 Manik), focus on the vision of your destiny and use the power and insight of the Eagle to achieve it.

Tzolkin Trecena Notes – 1 Lamat Donald
[Day 248 of the 260 Day Tzolkin]
Trecenas are thirteen-day periods in the Tzolkin. Each Trecena starts with the Number 1, but with a different Day Glyph. As a wave of the Thirteen Heavens, the underlying energy is governed by the First Day Glyph of the Trecena and influences all thirteen successive Day Glyphs. Being aware of the predominant energy of the First Day of the Trecena, we can align our intentions with that energy and allow our goals to manifest.
Today (Gregorian date: July 9, 2007), the Trecena starts with 1 Lamat (Rabbit/Venus) – The carefree happy-go-lucky attitude of the Rabbit will be an underlying energy this Trecena, so watch for situations where you might find yourself leaping ahead before you look. Venus represents abundance and rebirth. Venus also represents One Hunahpu, the father of the Hero Twins in the Mayan creation myth of the Popul Vuh. The current age of the Popul Vuh begins when the Hero Twins resurrect their father, One Hunahpu. It ends when the Lords of the Underworld are defeated by the Hero Twins in the ball court and One Hunahpu is reborn.
Of special signifigance during this Trecena is the astronomical event of Pluto “the Transformer” crossing the Galactic Center of the Milky Way on 9 Cib (Gregorian date: July 17, 2007 ). This day will be strong for karmic cleansing on all levels, and heralds the last four days of this Tzolkin round ending in the co-creation/ascension energy of 13 Ahau, day 260 of the Tzolkin.
As we journey through each day of this Trecena (1 Lamat, 2 Muluc, 3 Oc, 4 Chuen, 5 Eb, 6 Ben, 7 Ix, 8 Men, 9 Cib, 10 Caban, 11 Etznab, 12 Cauac, 13 Ahau), focus on the energies of joyful abundance and clearing out old patterns to make way for co-creation and rebirth. We are all co-creators and now is the time to get rid of the limits we place on ourselves and allow miracles to happen everyday.

Today (Gregorian date: July 22, 2007 ), the Trecena starts with 1 Imix (Crocodile/Waterlily) – the beginning - initiating new possibilities and concepts – receptivity and trust. Crocodile carries the Earth on his back, nourishing and protecting all life. Crocodile supplies humanity with the underlying primal feeling of our connection to nature and Mother Earth. The Waterlily represents the beauty and the possibility of ascension out of the primordial soup of creation.
Out of the void, a spark of fire falls into the primordial ocean of possibilities and creation spirals into life.
As we journey through each day of this Trecena (1 Imix, 2 Ik, 3 Akbal, 4 Kan, 5 Chicchan, 6 Cimi, 7 Manik, 8 Lamat, 9 Muluk, 10 Oc, 11 Chuen, 12 Eb, 13 Ben), focus on the energies of Crocodile protecting, nourishing and grounding us to the Earth. TZOLKIN: COUNT OF DAYS
Tzolkin Trecena Notes – 1 Ix
[Day 14 of the 260 Day Tzolkin]
Trecenas are thirteen-day periods in the Tzolkin. Each Trecena starts with the Number 1, but with a different Day Glyph. As a wave of the Thirteen Heavens, the underlying energy is governed by the First Day Glyph of the Trecena and influences all thirteen successive Day Glyphs. Being aware of the predominant energy of the First Day of the Trecena, we can align our intentions with that energy and allow our goals to manifest.
Today (Gregorian date: August 4, 2007), the Trecena starts with 1 Ix (Jaguar/Ocelot) – nocturnal, secretive, ruling spirit of jungles and mountains, guardian of earthly magic, the Night Sun that travels the underworld invisible and opposite the Day Sun of the Eagle.
Jaguar energy relates to the earthly primal spiritual forces within all living creatures. The Maya refer to this energy as Itz or “dew from heaven” that connects cosmic divinity with the spark of our own earthly divinity. Jaguar energy tunes our inner instincts with the spiritual power of Itz.
To the Maya, Jaguar’s spotted skin symbolized the stars of the Milky Way Galaxy. The birthplace of First Father in the mouth of Jaguar was known to the Quiche Maya as Xibalba Be (shi bal ba bay) “the Road to the Underworld.” The Sun’s daily journey from light to darkness represented consciousness and its transformation. The Nocturnal Sun in the guise of the Jaguar travels through the underworld revealing our subconscious fears and allowing them to be transformed.
The 13 days of each Trecena operate as a wave form. Days 1 – 5, the wave is on an upward beginning movement. Days 6 – 9 are more powerful as the wave is cresting. These days are appropriate ceremonial, ritual days. Days 10 - 13 are the ending of the wave before a new wave begins. Of special note this Trecena, Jaguar energy underlies the day of 7 Ahau, a strong day for awareness and co-creation, and 9 Ik, a day of change ruled by the light of Quetzalcoatl that also coincides with the New Moon.
As we journey through each day of this Trecena (1 Ix, 2 Men, 3 Cib, 4 Caban, 5 Etznab, 6 Cauac, 7 Ahau, 8 Imix, 9 Ik, 10 Akbal, 11 Kan, 12 Chicchan, 13 Cimi),
utilize the energy of Jaguar to follow your instincts. Allow your feelings to guide your actions and movements. Jaguar shows us we no longer need to fear the jungle or the night. Jaguar teaches us to face our inner demons and arise transformed.

[Day 27 of the 260 Day Tzolkin]
Trecenas are thirteen-day periods in the Tzolkin. Each Trecena starts with the Number 1, but with a different Day Glyph. As a wave of the Thirteen Heavens, the underlying energy is governed by the First Day Glyph of the Trecena and influences all thirteen successive Day Glyphs. Today (Gregorian date: August 17, 2007 ), the Trecena starts with 1 Manik (Deer/Healing Hand) -instinctual, intuitive, ritual dance, stabilizes the four directions, purifies spirit to rise above limitations.
Deer energy represents the aspect of spiritual leadership, a day that opens a portal for all to express the holiness and sanctity of life. Many shamanic rituals were performed on Deer Days giving thanks to the Ancestors.

Chute Causeway and the Sun-Venus calendar: precise calculations of astronomical time from 1997 to 2013
"When European scholars began decoding ancient Mayan hieroglyphs, their earliest successes were in understanding the numbering systems used by the Mayans, as well as their calendar systems which were based on visible motions of the Moon, Sun or Venus. In short, math and science provided the foundation for further communication, just as many SETI scientists predict will be the case for interstellar communication."--- www.seti.org, "Decoding E.T. in Search of a Cosmic Rosetta Stone"
Over the past year, it has become abundantly clear that modern crop pictures are a real SETI-type phenomenon, as witnessed for example by the sudden appearance of a 1 km long crop picture at East Field on July 7, 2007 at 3:14 AM, after a brief microsecond flash of "sheet lightning" above the field that was captured on camera
(www.gazetteandherald.co.uk/news/headlines/display.var.1559662.0.the_crop_circle_mystery.php or www.earthfiles.com/news.php?ID=1288&category=Environment).
In fact, fifty or more authentic crop pictures seem to appear every summer all across Europe, although mainly within a small region of southern England near Avebury. Knowledgeable experts currently believe that only 5-20% of those could be locally man-made. With such experimental facts in hand, one might suppose that modern crop pictures would be regarded as one of the greatest scientific challenges of our time! Instead, the subject remains little discussed except in local newspapers; and most professional scientists continue to know little or nothing about it.
In addition to being "real", modern crop pictures also seem to represent a form of "intelligent communication" from scientists who live in another space or time to ourselves. Finally, such highly-patterned messages do not actually seem to come from extra-terrestrial aliens, as some people believe, but rather from another human-like culture who may live in our distant past, or perhaps in another historical timeline or dimension on Earth? Thus, modern crop pictures are often "associated with ancient sites or knowledge". Since those crop pictures are demonstrably real, and represent some form of intelligent communication between other scientists and ourselves, shouldn't we at least try to understand what they are telling us?
In previous work, some of us studied a variety of complex crop pictures from 1990 to 2007 that describe solar astronomy, lunar astronomy, yearly calendars, sacred geometry or long-forgotten archaeological information (summarized in Table II below). Here I will analyze another important series of crop pictures that describe the astronomy of Venus (mainly its transits or conjunctions as seen from Earth), as well as the Sun-Venus calendar that they use to date events in our modern world.

The Dark Light, Part V - As Above, So Below
September 18th, 2007 | Category: solar, galactic
We seemed faced with resolving the two sides of our existence, the reality we interact with externally and the inner world each of us experience. In the parable of the Blind Men and an Elephant, based on the piece of evidence at hand, each monk makes a different assumption about the object of their investigation. Each of us has a different piece, therefore a different perspective on, our universe. Some of our pieces, be them cultural, scientific or religious, differ more than those others are in contact with, resulting in greatly divergent views on what the nature of our universe is.
Perhaps some collaboration is in order. Since we all hold different pieces of the puzzle, it is very difficult to validate the pieces we do not hold. Trust is many times hard to come by. Science, it could be argued, is in fact the greatest attempt made in our known history to create the possibility of this collaboration by providing a way for each of us to verify the pieces the others have. It seems that science can only take us so far. In tackling the great unanswered questions, we are attempting to “bite our own teeth” as Alan Watts would have put it.
The thing we as humans seem to seek most is oneness. Whether through a scientific Theory of Everything, a spiritual experience of Nirvana through meditation or even tantric practice, economic globalization, free trade and shared currencies, and various religions, philosophies, we have sought to pierce the dualistic veil of what we perceive as reality. Yet there remains here and there, you and I, above and below.

Further examples of Olmec-Mayan astronomy or calendars in crops: did the British megalith builders visit central America long ago?
In a previous essay on this website, I studied a series of crop pictures that had appeared in Wiltshire from 1997 to 2007. Those were concerned with either: (a) the naked-eye astronomy of Venus as a bright planetary object, or (b) modern calendar dates that seem to depend on current Sun-Venus astronomical cycles. A Sun-Venus calendar was in regular use throughout central America thousands of years ago.
But why should it appear today in crop pictures from Wiltshire? Here we will study further crop pictures from modern England, most of which concern themselves with ancient Olmec-Mayan astronomy, in order to address that puzzling question.
West Down 2001 shows an occultation of Venus by the Moon
West Down appeared on June 22, 2001, just three weeks before a rare eclipse or occultation of Venus by a crescent Moon on July 17, 2001. As shown below, that crop picture was apparently meant to focus our attention on a rare astronomical event involving Venus:

A Mayan calendar, the Jester's Hat and eclipses: who else but Quetzalcoatl?
In two previous essays on this website, I explored how the modern crop-picture phenomenon seems to be based on an ancient Sun-Venus calendar that was in regular use thousands of years ago, mainly in central America. Today we know about it mostly from the famous Dresden Codex, which was one of the few Aztec-Mayan literary works to survive a systematic destruction of their culture in 1520, after European invasion. What else might they have known that we have since forgotten?
Here I will explore first how planetary astronomy shows a long and well-documented history in modern crop pictures, dating back to the inception of this phenomenon in Wiltshire1988-1992. Then I will show how some crop pictures seem to match a reconstruction of the ancient Sun-Venus calendar for our modern era (by John Major Jenkins). Next I will investigate unexpected links of this crop-picture phenomenon to the Jester's Hat symbolism of Olmec-Mayan kings, which seems to be some kind of "cargo cult" inspired by Quetzalcoatl (a long-nosed, fancy-dressing Englishman). Finally I will show how certain modern crop pictures seem to mark solar or lunar eclipses, in a fashion further consistent with Olmec-Mayan astronomy.
All measures of this strange phenomenon seem to indicate that we are receiving messages from the distant past, or from some modern culture that possesses a great deal of the advanced knowledge that was present on Earth long ago; rather than from any kind of extra-terrestrial visitors from an alien world.
A long history of planetary astronomy in crops
The crop picture phenomenon has always concerned itself with planetary astronomy. Some of the best early analyses were produced by Jack Sullivan and Andy Thomas on www.swirlednews.com/article.asp?artID=659

Hello my family and friends! Just a little tid-bit I found interesting:
If you are familiar with the more recent discoveries in decoding the Mayan Calendar you will be aware that we are in the age which has been called the "Galactic Underworld" or "Galactic Age." This age is thought to have begun on January 5, 1999 and will continue until October 28, 2011. At the midpoint of any of the 9 Ages the evolutionary developments become visible. At the midpoint of the Age from 3,115 BC through October 28, 2011 AD, was 550 BC, which is when great teachers and philosophers such as Pythagoras, Zoroaster, Plato, Isaiah II, Lao-tse, Confucius, Mahavira, and the Buddha appeared on the planet. So the midpoint of the current age was June 2, 2005 and I do believe the founder of this site, namely David Wilcock, can be counted among the great thinkers and philosophers of this Age, here to help bridge the gap and connect us with the rest of the galaxy. I have been a student of mystery all my life but it wasn't until David Wilcock stepped on the block that some large pieces of the puzzle started to fall in place for me. Interesting thought, eh? It all makes too much sense to me.
It is against the rules to say here where I got this info from but I would be happy to share that with you in a private message.
Hang tight everybody!!! The fun is just beginning!

Although these videos are lengthy and the guy can be a bit cheesy but they do explain quite a bit about the mayan calender and 2012 and probably some of the best informationOK call me cynical, but I can't help but wonder, "Exactly what was the purpose in posting these links?"
I mean the guy is just DEAD WRONG about EVERY SINGLE PREDICTION he made. I can't help but wonder if that's not at least part of the reason he died as young as he did, because ALL of his predictions failed to come true. How can you believe any part of it when he's so verifiably wrong?
Are we so desperately grasping at straws for something new to believe in, that we waste our time watching all of this stuff that's been shown to be completely wrong time and again?
It really disturbs me to see so many people just blindly accepting things like this, and it just seems like no one thinks for themself anymore. Come on, people, you were given an intelligent mind and brain for a reason, and you are expected to use it.
Ok, sorry for my ranting, I just needed to get this off my chest. I mean I get entire posts deleted that were only meant to be enlightening and/or humorous and here the mods are posting things like this that are just so completely wrong on all the things he says were going to happen...
[Moderator: we do strive to be consistent here:). Anyway Manny, if you could email me (send Chris Hamilton a private message under my name) and tell me what I deleted of yours, I will try to address this. Light Eye and I really do try to be fair, but we are humans and fallible. Thanks!]

Can you elaborate a bit on what seems to have discredited him?

Well, perhaps I was a bit harsh, I apologize. What got me was that he didn't really get to his predictions until towards the end, so I wasted some five hours watching it, thinking all the while that he was going to get to the good stuff any second, the whole time.
Can you elaborate a bit on what seems to have discredited him?
-Mark
Ok Mark, I don't mind telling you from memory, but I hope you'll pardon me if I don't watch all 5 and 1/2 hours of it again.
What really suckered me in was how he took all the current events (2003) and interpreted them all through the looking glass of the mayan calendar. I gotta say it all made a lot of sense, and I guess I wanted him to be right with his predictions.
Then he started talking about how we were moving into the age of ethics. He said George Bush felt like he was above the law, but when we moved into this age of ethics (app. 2004) Bush would be exposed and held accountable for all the lies he knowingly said to get us into the Iraq war. Now I really wanted this to be true, but sadly it didn't happen.
Then he went on to talk about another period of 260 days we would move into (app. 2004 again) when society would begin to break down. "What are you going to do? The grocery stores won't be open during this time!" etc. and "Civilization as we know it will cease to exist"
Then he launched into how the days are already provably getting longer and the earth's rotation would finally come to a complete stop and we were going through 3 days of complete darkness, after which the earth would start spinning in the other direction. After this period ended most of our oppression would be lifted and free energy machines would be introduced, and we would take a dramatic turn for the better. All this would happen in the 2004-2005 period.
About this time it occurred to me that NONE of this had happened and I started wondering if he had gotten anything right! So I rewound the movie and watched it again, this time looking for any predictions he made that actually happened. I watched the movie all the way to the end and I could not find a single instance. NOTHING he said would happen has actually happened!
It really disturbs me to see so many people just blindly accepting things like this, and it just seems like no one thinks for themself anymore. Come on, people, you were given an intelligent mind and brain for a reason, and you are expected to use it.

Well, I hate to be the first one to respond to you Verm, but here goes:
With regard to the fact that you feel "many on this forum" blindly accept the RA material, I can only speak for myself, Verm, but I can confidently say that I have not "blindly accepted" it.
I purchased all of the RA volumes, and I have studied (and continue to study) all of the RA material. In addition, I have researched many of the topics covered in the RA material and continue to do so. Not only that, but I travelled to Kentucky and spent time with both Jim and Carla when I lived somewhat closer to them than I do now.
I proved to myself that this information is real and valid, and that these people are real, honest, friendly and hospitable. And, I am somewhat of a newcomer to this forum and can only imagine the kind of study and research that some of the oldtimers here have put into proving the RA material to be valid.
These thoughts are offered in peace... just so ya' know the group here is not necessarily accepting anything blindly....:)

As with any channeled material one should use "discernment". Either you resonate with something or you dont. I personally resonate with a lot of the Ra material, some of it I dont. But you dont throw the baby out with the bathwater. Dont assume that everyone that posts here is a 100% LoO devotee. ;)
"To place all of one's knowledge in one belief is not accepting of reality"
That's my 2 cents worth! :D

Sorry for not being a bit more clear, but I didn't mean in the sense that it is "fake" or "hogwash". I never meant to discount the people either, I believe their experience was completely 100% real as well as David's. My only problem with the RA material is that it still promotes separation to certain degree's just as much as the platform of Dogmatic Religions. You have the "STS" and the "STO", who eventually come back together again to one polarity in a higher dimensional shift, which are still separate from source. And eventually, we all come back together again like Humpty Dumpty, back to source. Again, more separation, still limiting. Though this is just my opinion you may not agree with it. Really just the purpose of a forum I suppose, discussing opinions.
The truth exists within. All else are guides to the truth. I am certainly no LoO scholar, but in my opinion, the Ra material is a guide. What one chooses to do with this information is their choice. While this is definitely a LoO forum, the members here come from many walks of life with different experiences, knowledge, all sharing. Some of the information resonates, some does not. So, yes, your correct Verm - this is a place to discuss opinions...
But, as far as blindly accepting anything, be it the Ra material, or anything else, thats a rough statement to make. I don't think anyone is doing that... Someone else earlier contributed a good "concept" to "the DC collective" (anyone like that nickname?) - cognitive uncertainty. So, for me, practically everything I've learned up to this point exists here - cognitive uncertainty. Nothing is concrete - I have no truths to share - maybe alot of good ideas I've picked up from David, the members of the DC Forum, and other various sources along the way - ideas that resonate deeply within, ideas I like to share, discuss, etc. But, when something is blindly accepted, it is very hard to be open to more information and further refinement of our subjective concept of truth.
Friends, we're taking part in a long quest for truth. There are many pieces to the puzzle, many leads, guides, etc. It is amazing to be living during a time where information from many sources is coalescing into a singular truth, isn't it? :D But, we've got quite a bit to go, in my opinion.
No single person has the answer, nor will we until that fateful day of singularity - where knowledge and consciousness grow into infinity and become one truth. At that moment of enlightment, only then will we have reached our 3D capacities and then move into a whole new experience. This "derivative" of the Ra material certainly resonates with me - one of the "core" themes (imo) of the Ra material is infinity - which, cannot be described. How 'bout that? :D Well, I'll try... No limits, indicating no boundaries, therefore no separation. Boundaries are only setup by us. Thats about as good as I can do...
Verm, I can understand what you're saying, but if what you wrote of in your reply signals separation to you, and therefore doesn't resonate with you, then by all means, don't fight it, cast it aside. From what you've written here you are a strong proponent that separation is illusion, therefore All is One, and we are connected to "god" at all times. Again, I'm no LoO scholar, but aren't these core themes of the LoO, or Ra material? They're the ones that I resonate with. Maybe I'm reading too deeply into what you've written - if so, I apologize.
Take whatcha like, discard the rest. I've taken lots of information from various sources and discarded alot of information from these same sources. Resonance is all that matters.
I hope this is received as its intended - with peace to all - we're all in need of more clarification, etc. - but, this will come with time, and, as you said Verm, with more discussing of information and extrapolations (opinions) formed from all the various information currently out there, and that waiting to be discussed. This includes the Ra material. :D
Art
I am not against the material in any way, and I agree to a certain extent with what it is saying. My only problem is , separation is illusion. And by stating there is a god presence we are not part of yet, or we have left it and are going to go back to it, or this person is a service to self while that person is service to other, it is still a re-occuring theme of promoting separation. So basically its that same treadmill each time. Thats all I was trying to say, sorry for hopping around a bit. Hope I am more clear. And just to say, I am not against any of this material in anyway. Peace be with you. And thank you for your reply

What's funny about what you said here, is done by so many on this forum with the RA material.Well it may not be all that pleasant, but you do make a very valid point, Verm. Hey we don't have to be pleasant all the time, I'm sure you can tell by my earlier post, that I don't believe in repressing my feelings.:D :D
Seriously tho, I'm quite sure that I didn't blindly accept the Ra teachings. It was a good 10 years after my first Ra study group that I finally started actively studying it, and trying to apply the teachings to my life. And there are still a few things I don't wholeheartedly accept. As for the group here I think it's a good idea to to have some sort of commonality. Here we can discuss ideas and try to help each other by looking thru our 'Ra glasses', while we may do other things at other times, like go to church on sunday, etc.
I was raised in a cult and spent the first 18 years of my life there, and we didn't have a choice but to blindly follow their teachings. When I finally did break away, (in the middle of the night, with nothing but the clothes on my back) I wanted nothing to do with anyone else's teachings for a long time, so that I could find out who I was. So I've had quite enough blind acceptance for this lifetime, thank you very much.:) ..by stating there is a god presence we are not part of yet, or we have left it and are going to go back to it,I'm with you there too, I don't think we ever left the presence of Intelligent Infinity. We have turned our focus away from It/Her/Him, certainly, but that is only so we can experience this more fully. We are still a part of Infinite Intelligence, we never left. This dimension cannot contain the totality of the All-That-Is so It must send out little feelers or scouts or fingers [that's us!] to experience it, in all it's glory, so that It can experience it thru us.

TZOLKIN: COUNT OF DAYS
Tzolkin Trecena Notes – 1 Serpent (Chicchan)
[Day 92 of the 260 Day Tzolkin]
Trecenas are thirteen-day periods in the Tzolkin. Each Trecena starts with the Number 1, but with a different Day Glyph. As a wave of the Thirteen Heavens, the underlying energy is governed by the First Day Glyph of the Trecena and influences all thirteen successive Day Glyphs. Being aware of the predominant energy of the First Day of the Trecena, we can align our intentions with that energy and allow our goals to manifest.
Today (Gregorian date: November 3, 2007), the Trecena starts with 1 Chicchan (Serpent/Snake) – celestial life force, bringer of rain, sensual, passionate, primal knowledge of duality, heart expansion through service to others.
To the Ancient Maya, Chicchan or Serpent/Snake was the bringer of rain, symbolized by the Snake Dance or Rain Dance performed by many native cultures such as the Hopi in the Desert Southwest and the Toltec in Mexico . In Maya legend, there were four Chicchans who were responsible for guarding the four quarters of the world. When they spoke, thunder was heard which was followed by lightning and rain. The image of a snake combined with a lightning bolt is found in ancient Anasazi petroglyphs representing lightning not only in the sky but also lightning in the body, corresponding to the Maya concept of “blood lightning” and the Hindu concept of “kundalini” energy running up the spine. Thus, Serpent Energy is a symbol of the life force that flows in the body and in the sky.
Chicchan or Serpent energy connects our primal reptilian core to our spiritual aspirations. When we feel this energy, we are energized to connect and live in two realities, the material 3-D reality (everyday mundane) and the spiritual magical reality where all things are possible.
As we journey through each day of this Trecena: 1 Chicchan (Serpent), 2 Cimi (Death/Transofrmation), 3 Manik (Deer), 4 Lamat (Rabbit), 5 Muluc (Water), 6 Oc (Dog), 7 Chuen (Monkey), 8 Eb (Road), 9 Ben (Reed), 10 Ix (Jaguar), Men (Eagle), 12 Cib (Vulture), 13 Caban (Earth), utilize the energy of Serpent to connect your core with your spiritual aspirations or destiny. Go with the flow, have faith in your destiny, gratitude in your heart, love in your actions and allow your intuition to guide you.

Summary of a speech by THE Mayan Elder on June 21, 2008 during The Gathering of One Eden Event. I found the 2 bolded text sections interesting with concerns to 2012.
"Don Alejandro spoke at the evening segment. This 80-year-old wonder of wisdom immediately showed us why he is revered among the Elders of the Americas and highly respected around the world. He spoke of the time when the world was one, and the legends of why we separated. He asked us to respect one another’s cultures as we stand in the beauty of each culture. His speech riveted the audience with its rich symbols of nature and ancient tales of how the world came to be as it is. What hit me right away was his challenge to the modern world to respect and study the ways of the indigenous. If you want to know the ways of the Maya, he said, then come to the lands of the Mayans and sit with their Elders. As a stark example, he registered his displeasure with how the ancient Mayans had been painted by historians as people worshiping with human sacrifice. True, the glyphs depicting beheadings, blood letting, and bondage did portray sacrificial horror. But the glyphs were not historical as insinuated by archeologists and anthropologists; they were prophetic. The glyphs of the ancient Mayan culture were erected to warn the Mayan people of what was to come when the conquistadors would land. These were stone glyphs of the future, not the past. It was to prepare them for how their world be changed by “modern” invaders, and then later how modern culture would in turn be changed by the wisdom of the indigenous. He asked the modern world to respect the ancient Mayan truths and prophecies, and not to fictionalize them. If it is truth you wish, then sit with the Elders and hear truth.
His statement reminded me of a passage from Western society’s Book of Wisdom, which states, “If it is wisdom you desire, then visit the company of wise men.” Don Alejandro stood before us as a great wise man, and we listened, hanging on his every word. The question-and-answer period was as intriguing as his speech. Someone asked about the date of 2012. Don Alejandro is respected as the greatest Mayan astrologer of his people. So it came as quite a surprise to hear him tell us that the date is not accurate. Going into great detail of how the jigsaw of the Gregorian calendar had been wrapped around the Mayan calendar to create this date, he stated that the date can not be determined with our calendar. Many of the 20 Mayan calendars that help make up the Long Calendar have been stolen or destroyed. So we can only approximate the time of the end of the Long Calendar. More questions took us late into the night. No one wanted to leave. Don Alejandro received several standing ovations throughout the event.

Hello PriestOfLight!
How extreeeeeemly interesting!!!! I really want to visit Chichen Itza, I've been told by a mediumistic woman I lived a life as a mayan woman working with colours and clothing, I've been singing latinamerican freedomsongs and translated some to swedish, worked with collecting and sending all kinds of stuff to Nicaragua and wrote a song about Venus long before knowing how crucial that planet was in the Mayan culture...
...the last Venuspassage will actually take place on the National holiday of Sweden June 6, 2012 and Carl Johan Calleman, a swede that has written about the Mayan Code says that The trunk of the Tree of Life runs through the west of Sweden which becuse of that is the perfect place of uniting east and West, a parallell to balancing the right and left hemispheres of the human brain.
As another sync I checked my transits on dec 21 2012 yestereday!!! and regarding my HUGHE interest in this, there was no clear reflection in the chart...hmmmmmm

Jasper,
I have a response, but it may not be satisfying to you. My response is: "Lose your fear." Whatever will happen, will happen. You may die tomorrow, or you may live another 1,000 years.
My survival plan is to meditate, see the One Creator in myself and in everyone else, and be prepared to transition whenever the time is right. In the meantime, I plan to be of service to everyone and the planet in whatever ways I can, always with the thought of achieving the maximum good for the universe through my efforts.
Does it matter when the end date is? Do you want to listen and follow those that spread fear and encourage selfish acts? If the opportunity arose, would you turn someone else out of a shelter or deny them food just so that you could survive? What kind of life is that? Living in a cave for 5 years just to hold on to this meager 3rd density existence? No thanks, not for me!
But, for what it's worth, I don't think anyone has the date right. As a matter of fact, I'm confident that any date that people pick as the "big day" is wrong. Even though the transition into 4th density may occur on a prescribed date, I feel that the transition of souls from 3rd density will occur over a period of several years. During that time, we all have the opportunity to further polarize positive or negative (like the author of you "Norwegian Politician" letter ).
Hey, life's an adventure, and we need to take advantage of these 3rd density catalysts while we can. Don't get caught up on the fear. If you do, it could cost you another 25,000 years of 3rd density life.
Best regards,
3D Sunset

I've heard about these date discrepencies from various sources, and I guess we'll probably never really know...
I would consider the Galactic Alignment itself to be the significant event, whatever day that happens to fall on. And also because of the power of belief, I imagine it'll happen when the majority of people believe it'll happen, regardless of what the calendar says. :)

Hello to all,
I am truly humbled to be a part of this forum and to have found who I am and my purpose.
according to the Mayan calender and many sources, we are now in the 6th day on this cycle of days. that means new information and (wow!) what information it is!
there are so many links and sources for this! allot of this information was posted in the last week or scheduled to be posted later in the month!
It is my opinion that this "day" will reveal secrets and technology that we have dreamed about but couldn't connect the dots to make reality of them!
Now, in this day, we will see and understand like never before! I started this thread to make public document of an overview of this knowledge and to do what I believe as fulfilling at least part of my purpose in this stream of time.
I am convinced that our transformation is rapidly approaching and our journey to oneness becoming reality!
Knowledge of universal dynamics, physics, ancient technology, and our own reality will be brought into context here.
I believe that a compilation of this knowledge is necessary to make the shift of consciousness that is coming!
I think were just scratching the surface of something BIG!
Our ability to decipher information is accelerating!

Well, I am no expert in astrology or astronomy... seems to me that the lady is looking at the shift as simply change from one zodiac sign to another. Hi Ladan,
I am not sure if you viewed the entire series of videos. The explanation is in them and I would politely suggest the viewing of them before forming an opinion. She brought up some seemingly valid issues with the Mayan calendar not predicting any shift of the ages at 2012.

As I understand it, Carl Calleman’s interpretation of the Mayan cosmology as expressed through their calendar system, involves 9 distinct ages, each fitting into the length of the previous age’s final “day”. Each age is 1/13th the length of the prior age. Furthermore, each age expresses a progressive rise or expansion of consciousness.
While much of the evidence for this theory necessarily relies on natural history and geology, the evidence over the last 100,000 or so years is increasingly derived from human history. However, alternative human history posits great civilizations like Atlantis, Rama, and Lemuria. Alternative history is much longer than mainstream history. But most importantly, it is a roller coaster ride with both rises and falls of great civilizations interspersed with lengthy dark ages.
Of course, mainstream history tells us about ever greater societies and civilizations where dark ages are localized. As one civilization falls another arises in a different spot on earth. The overall picture is one of continuous progression with a few temporary setbacks.
In both cases, these paradigms of human history are offered as indicative of the state of human (or general) consciousness.
So here’s the conflict: the Calleman theory of the Mayan cosmology fits the continual progression of the mainstream theory of history. But I don’t believe the mainstream theory, and I’m guessing most of you reading this don’t believe it either.
I think there was an Atlantis. I think they did advance both technology and consciousness, even further than our current culture. And I think that when Atlantis went down, human consciousness suffered a reversal, a devolution.
I know I’m new to this forum but I hope you will respond. I’m not trying to cause trouble, it’s just that this is the only place I know of that may be able to offer some insight. Thank you.

Following The Mayan Calendar From Now Until 11:11 21-12-2012
Mayan Temple TikalMany people interested in 2012 have begun wondering about just what it means to follow this ancient Maya Tzolkin Calendar. What exactly does it involve, and what great benefit would it add to our lives?
Especially relevant now as today is 21-12-2008, there are exactly just four years until the end of this 5125 year Long Count of the Maya Calendar system. Also we see the closure of one ‘Great Year’ nearly 26,000 years long related to cosmic mechanisms of Earth and the Milky Way.
Well I have always believed that scientific and spiritual matters both should be tested for truth and relevance by personal investigation. Here I will detail the way to start following this system and a little of what that may mean for you and me. We will take a journey through the steps needed to begin using the Maya calendar ourselves.
Here are some useful links to visit that will enable you to calculate your own Maya signs and get to grips with following the Maya system. I also suggest that like me you hand draw your own calendar as you may sometime be away from a computer with which to check the Maya sign for that day. Also it will help forge your relationship with the numbered symbols themselves.

I dont think discussing the date really matters, I'm not going to be sitting at home waiting for a special day to arrive, all time has already happened so the time is NOW in every moment, its here, its there, its where ever the most people think it is.
It could be tomorrow or never, what matters is that we love each other always and take care of each other.

Maya Calendar Stargate 31-3-2013: 13-Ahau Tzolkin & 3-Wayeb Haab
Ahau Sun LordWe know the date 21-12-2012 represents a cosmic event of great note to human spiritual progression. The 2012 conjunction of the winter solstice sun with the dark rift near the galactic centre and the start of a new precession cycle and new Maya Long Count.
This offers us the chance as a species to align with the cosmic energies of massive positive change. We can consciously choose to rapidly evolve our civilisation and are physical and spiritual selves at that time.
I believe I have found a secondary energetic stargate date hidden within the Maya system and thus far overlooked.
As with previous important topics I have selected a proper date to discuss it. Today is of course Sun-day 11-01-2009 and Tzolkin 7-Ahau. Ahau also means Sun of course.
The marker signs for this important point are spread across numerology, symbolism and astronomical events. It may cause many in the 2012 research community to sit up and take note. For sake of a summary let me just state that it involves all of the below factors.

In early Autumn 2002, Carlos Barrios journeyed North from his home in Guatemala to the Eastern edge of the Four Corners. In Santa Fe, NM, at the tail of the Rocky Mountain spine, Mr. Barrios spoke in a knowledgeable manner about the Mayan tradition and the fabled Mayan calendars.
The Mayan calendars are an object of intense interest for many thousands of people right now, because they focus upon the watershed date of Dec. 21, 2012. Everything changes by then, it is said.
With a cultural heritage including thousands of pyramids and temples, and a calendar that has proven itself to be astronomically accurate over millions of years, the Maya tradition is widely considered to be a mystic key to the soul of Turtle Island (North America).
In public talks and in private interviews, Mr. Barrios laid out his account of the history and future of the Americas, and the larger world, based on his understanding of the Mayan tradition as both an anthropologist and an initiate. He spoke also about the path he sees ahead from now until the Winter Solstice of 2012.
The range of teachings and insights offered by Mr. Barrios must be considered in the context of the realpolitik in his American homeland. The Maya of Guatemala, their pyramids, and their calendar have endured not in a new-age Shambhala of love and light, but in a milieu of treachery, beatings, torture, rape, and mass murder.

Maya Prophecy, Long Count Calendars & Possible Cosmic Catastrophe for 21-12-2012 – Part 2
Doomsday ClockMaya Calendar Cycles and Cyclic Disaster Predictions for Year 2012
It is clear from the previous section that no Maya prophecy links a doomsday or period of catastrophic disasters with the Maya calendar. In fact I would say no evidence exists in the world that convinces me of a doomsday at any fixed date in the future, but that is just me.
The next investigation is whether large-scale global cataclysms occur on a cyclical timetable mapped out by the Maya Long Count calendar system. The only way to progress this is by checking calendar cycles against real historical evidence of major events. Though this will not necessarily provide conclusive proof of a link it would be highly suggestive, and at the least very interesting.
The Maya Long Count calendar can be broken down into numerous cycles. Being named the 13 Baktun calendar it is reasonable to suggest the smallest unit in which to expect a notable change would be a single Baktun, just under 400 years. Personally I am sceptical that major change events happen in such short periods on a global scale. I will then forgo that examination leaving it perhaps to others less dismissive.
Let us then work on the more plausible theory in which global disasters recur every complete 13 Baktun cycle. This is a span of 5126 years. It is fair to note that once we go back further than a couple of these cycle’s events become rather hazy. We shall however do our best to go back through the last five such periods remembering that we are now approaching the Maya 5th sun.

There are at least four major lines of information now opening up to us in the 2012 research community. It is only when they are added together and indeed a possible fifth included as well that a very plausible and perhaps scary possibility emerges.
Let us start with the five lines then in very brief and then we will move deeper.
1. Our quiet sun and shifting planetary energy fields solar-system wide.
2. The alignment of ancient structures to Cygnus.

So, this mayan calendar ends at 21/12/2012 When the sun and the earth are said to be alligned with the dark rift at the centre of the universe. Recently astronemers discovered that the dark rift actually excists and that it's in fact a black hole. They also found that in 2012 the earth sun and black hole will indeed allign. The earth is said to pass through the flat gravitational field of this black hole and this might cause a polar shift. This is about what I found on the subject. Quite fascinating, is it not?

In December 2005, an American scientific think tank called the Meinel Institute of Las Vegas, founded by former consultants to the NASA-linked JPL (Jet Propulsion Laboratory), came forward and announced that it now believed that cosmic rays from a galactic binary system producing relativistic jets was responsible for a rapid acceleration in animal and human evolution around 40,000 years ago. It was at this time that great changes occurred in human advancement, most obviously the appearance of anatomically modern human beings in Europe and Asia and the emergence of cave art. The Meinels used the Beryllium-10 data produced by the Greenland ice cores to achieve a point source for the cosmic rays that reached Earth during this distant epoch, and although this led them initially to Cygnus, where they searched in vain for a possible microblazar, they eventually concluded that the only realistic source was the Cat's Eye nebula in neighbouring Draco, the dragon. This, they believe, fits the data obtained from their detailed examination of the Greenland ice core data, which enabled them to deduce a suitable search area in the northern night sky. However, top theorists on planetary nebulae are unable to accept the Meinel's candidate for the production of such powerful cosmic rays, since the Cat's Eye is deemed too weak, and no evidence exists to show that it produces high energy radiation that might ever have reached the earth. More likely is that cosmic rays from Cygnus X-3 were able to more subtly influence human evolution during the Palaeolithic age, allowing our most ancient ancestors to become dimly aware of this point source of activity through prolonged shamanic experiences deep underground. In addition to this, it becomes clear that the memory of this cosmic influence, seen as divine, was behind the emergence of religion, art and intellect. This was abstractly recognized and preserved, eventually becoming the basis for the ancient cosmology behind the symbolism found even today among various world religions, including Christianity, Islam, Judaism and Hinduism. This knowledge, added to Cygnus's omnipotent presence as the cosmic axis during the Palaeolithic epoch, must have had a profound affect on the ancient mindset. Cygnus quite literally became the gateway to the realm of heaven, which brought forth cosmic life and death. Was the same interest in Cygnus to be found in other parts of the American continent? Archaeologist Marion Popenoe Hatch excavated the Olmec site of La Venta, in the Tabasco province, at the beginning of the 1970s and determined that the site's fluted pyramid, built c. 1000 BC, was aligned towards the stars of both Ursa Major (the Big Dipper) and Sadr (gamma Cygni) the central star in Cygnus, these were used in conjunction with each other to determine the time of the summer solstice, a tradition she traces back to 2000 BC. The symbol in Mayan texts used to represent Cygnus she has identified as the cross bands glyph, which appears also on much earlier Olmec statues of the were-jaguar. This, she suspects, signifies the starry sky. Cygnus can be seen as a key constellation in Olmec and Mayan astronomy, a point previously unrecognized by everyone but Popenoe Hatch. It features also as the beautiful bird Seven Macaw, who sits atop the World Tree in Maya tradition. This can easily be interpreted as the Milky Way, as is shown by American academics David Freidel, Linda Schele and Joy Parker in their fabulous work Maya Cosmos: Three Thousand Years on the Shaman's Path, published in 1993. Moreover, Cygnus's location adjacent to the stars of Sagittarius and Scorpio, where the ecliptic (the path of the sun), crosses the Milky Way, makes it an important feature in the eschatological phenomenon associated with the birth of the new sun at the climax of the Maya Long Count calendar on 21 December 2012. The sun will emerge at this time at a point that aligns with the visual position of galactic centre, something which some modern researchers feel the Maya were aware of somehow. In ancient Mexican cosmology, the sun was seen as an egg that comes from a crack which opens in a cosmic mountain, and this can be equated with the Milky Way's Great Rift, the dark region caused by interstellar dust clouds where new stars are born. This begins at Cygnus and continues on down to Sagittarius and Scorpio, where it opens out to form the point of emergence of the new sun. By Andrew Collins.

The actual beginning of Collins' discovery at Giza can be traced to speculations in his earlier book, The Cygnus Mystery. In that book, the story is told of an engineer who made calculations showing that the stars of the Cygnus constellation actually fit the pyramids at Giza better than the often-cited Belt of Orion.
http://www.mysterious-america.net/news2009.html
This actually makes much more sense to me. David's reseach shows that the pyramid is a road map of our evolution of some kind, right? Why would it be tight up to Orion (STS) crusaders, while Cygnus marks our spiritual "upgrade"?

For a long time the professional scientific community has resisted the thought that the different time periods of the Mayan calendar are driving cosmic and human evolution through their influence on consciousness. While of course a large number of professional Mayanists have worked with elucidating the structure of the calendar system of the ancient Maya there has always been a resistance to acknowledging that there would be a reality behind these energies. Hence, even though it may not have been said so directly these cosmic energies have often been regarded as some kind of superstitions.
A beginning of a shift in attitude now however seems to be on its way. At an international conference in Systems Theory at the University of Liege in Belgium Professor Tadeja Jere Lazanski won the award for best scientific paper in the CASYS'09 (Computing Anticipatory Systems) conference.
The paper outlines the nine levels of evolution that are developed according to the Mayan calendar system and places them in the context of Systems Theory. In short Dr Jere Lazanski is driving the thesis that what the ancient Maya saw as a plan driven by divine energies is what now is generally referred to as the big picture.
This initial breakthrough into mainstream science of the true Mayan calendar system of Nine Underworlds and Thirteen Heavens is very significant and it opens for the first time a road to discussing not only the Mayan calendar, but also the many evolutionary progressions that it describes in certain scholarly settings.

Man has been fascinated with the doomsday scenario, and never more prevalent than now as we ascend from the Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius December 21st, 2012. Researcher of ancient civilizations Graham Hancock talks about the Mayan prophecy of 2012 and the science aspect of it
The calendar cosmology of the ancient Maya of Central America states that the world is due for renewal in the years around A.D. 2012. Recent breakthroughs in understanding the astronomical underpinnings of this "millennial" temporal turning point show thatthe Maya believed a rare alignment of the solstice sun with the Milky Way (or Galactic Plane) would be responsible for an era of great transformation on earth. We can refer to this event as a Galactic Alignment. It is an astronomical fact that the solstice meridian will be precessing (by way of the precession of the equinoxes) through the Galactic equator in roughly the year 2000. Although the sociological implications of the concept of Galactic Alignment is unfamiliar to mainstream scientific discourse today, there is ample evidence in the scientific work of several researchers that suggests our changing relationship to the Galactic Plane is important. There is further evidence in the traditions of the major ancient civilizations (namely, Egypt, Mayan, and Vedic) that this alignment was thought of as being a significant transformative event for human beings on earth. The Galactic Alignment of era-2012 served the Maya, as well as many other ancient civilizations, as a type of temporal marker around which gravitate sociological effects typical of what we call "millennial fever." My paper identifies the underlying empirical reason that Maya cosmology holds responsible for millennial visions, calendars and traditions.

Goodevening 21.22 Swedish time, just turned 23
Was serching this thread and came upon 3Dsunsets post from 09 11 2008, very good one indeed. It was followed by one posted 09 13 the birthday of a friend of mine who never confirms or reacts to the incredible synchronicities i have with her.
Next comes a post of mine and after that, one posted 11 09. Earlier today i read an article named "And we thought we were free" adressing the crystal night in Germany when the persecutions of the jews began and their windows were crashed on 11 09. Then 9 11 and Twin Towers was the topic.
Today is 11 11 2009, adding up to 11x3
Time is now 21:31 and it was 20.20 as i started this post, now it turnes 21:32 and 21:33
0123 in diffrent combinations..Time just turned 21.44 as i reread my post here adding a double 4.
As i switched off the computor after having read about WWII time was 16:32, a famous year in swedish history when Gustaf the II Adolf lost the war in the battle of Lutzen in Germany. Just prior to writing this i happened to glance at a bookshell from southern France that has the hat of Napoleon on top, he lost the war in Waterloo.
Meaning of numbers? I was wondering if somehow number 13 being promiminent in the Mayan Calendar could have anything to do with the superstition around nr 13? (Now time is 21:53 adds up to 11) at least for those who believed the world will come to an end. I don't know though which cultures have been aware of the Mayans after they declined in 800.
Wonder if the release of the movie 2012 on 11 13 is on purpose or "just" a synchronicity?
Anyway the beginning of the Mayan calendar was 11 of august, my mothers birthday:cool:

An interesting article, though the date suggested is earlier than Dec 21 2012. This would be ok with me. The earlier the better!
Many of you have heard me mention, in the Global Prayer Project sessions, the name of Carl Johan Calleman. In my opinion, he is the Mayan Calender expert with the most accurate information about the Calendar's predictions. He says three things I believe each of us must ACT ON NOW. One, the predictions have nothing to do with the end of human existence; this is Hollywood hype. The predictions are about helping us move into a higher spiritual consciousness. Two, the energies predicted by the Mayans are coming in already, and they peak, not on December 21, 2012, but on October 28, 2011.

Dispelling the myths about 2012
© Maurice Cotterell, 2009
Part 1
Myth number 1; It is said that the Maya measured time using a ‘vigesimal numerical system’;
The Maya used the following periods of time with which to measure time intervals;
Kinchilitun Calabtun Pictun Baktun Katun Tun Uinal Kin
1,152,000,000 57,600,000 2,880,000 144,000 7,200 360 20 1
This is not a Vigesimal System. A Vigesimal system rises by factors of 20
A Vigesimal system looks like this;
1,280,000,000 64,000,000 3,200,000 160,000 8,000 400 20 1
Conclusion: The Maya did not use a Vigesimal system.
Myth number 2; The Maya ‘Long Count’ of 1,872,000 days (5,125.256674 years) is the ‘end of a Maya time cycle’ that began in 3114BC and will end on 21.12. 2012.
1,872,000 days = 13 periods of 144,000 days
Kinchilitun Calabtun Pictun Baktun Katun Tun Uinal Kin
1,152,000,000 57,600,000 2,880,000 144,000 7,200 360 20 1
? ? ? 13 0 0 0 0
But the definition of ‘cycle’ is ‘a complete series of events’. A complete series of events here could only transpire when all of the time periods (including those marked ‘?’) return to zero. The period 1,872,000 cannot therefore represent a cycle or the ‘end of a cycle’. At best it can only be considered to be 13/20ths of the Pictun, the next largest period.
Conclusion; 1,872,000 cannot represent a ‘cycle’ of time and therefore cannot represent the end of a cycle of time.
Myth number 3; The period 1,872,000 is the ‘longest time interval’ found carved on a Maya monument and therefore represents the ‘end of time’ or the ‘end of the Maya Calendar’.
This is not true. Other carved dates have been found that exceed 1,872,000, for example;
On Stela N, at Copan, six periods, including the Pictun, have been found, showing a period of 42,908,400 days.
On the west Panel at the Temple of Inscriptions, at Palenque, six (possibly seven) periods are found showing an interval of 455,393,401 days.
On Stela 10, at Tikal, eight (possibly nine) periods are found showing a time interval of 1,841,639,800 days.
Conclusion; The number 1,872,000 representing the date ? ? ? 13 0 0 0 0, is neither ‘the end of time’ nor the ‘end of the Maya Calendar’.
Respone from JMJ;
Well, I'll give a representative reponse to a few points.
Maurice is muddled on almost every point he attempts to make. What is revealed in his point about the galactic alignment, for example, is a completely skewed understanding of what my work is about. Since he avoids speaking directly about me and my work as the origin point of virtually every item he criticizes, he is free to confuse and conflate my ideas with those of others, who he speaks of generally as "the proponents of" the galactic alignment theory. (Who, exactly, are these people?) More often than not, those who have adopted elements of my work to proffer doomsday alarms (Braden, Hoagland) and other ridiculous scenarios are distorters of the galactic alignment theory.
In instances where he correctly cites an aspect of my work, such as the 36-year alignment "range," he projects a motivation that I never had. For example, in suggesting that the galactic alignment is best spoken of as a 36-year range, I was underscoring the fact that because of the very slow nature of precession, and because of the actual diameter of the sun, it would be impossible to speak of the galactic alignment in absolutely precise terms --- not to the day, year, or even decade. I've pointed out that astronomer Jean Meeus never provided an error range for his own caluclation, which he should have, and that at least a plus-or-minus three year "error" in his caluclation could be expected. Did Cotterell cite my words on that point? No. Why? Because he has no interest or patience to actually engage everything I've already put on the table. But he writes "To overcome this 14-year discrepancy the 21.12.2012 alignment proponents introduced a margin of error saying that the Sun would take 36 years to cross the centre-line, representing ‘era-2012’, from 1980-2016." As you can see, he muddies who originated the 36-year "era-2012" idea and what my motivations were in doing so. I did not suggest this range to "overcome" a 14-year discrepancy. Any rational thinker can easily conclude that it is completely irrational to hold the ancient Maya astronomers to a standard of astronomical precision that would enable them to nail down the alignment of the solstice mid-point with the galactic equator precisely, as astronomer Jean Meeus did. I've spoken of a 50- or even 100-year "error" to be more than acceptable given that the alignment scenario was more than just a scientific exercise for the Maya --- it's real value for them was mytho-cosmic and religious. Cotterell invocation of scientific precision as the final criterion or proof is idiotic, but often used by math-science fools whose minds sliude down a narrow track. Although I've spelled out the comprensive scope of Maya cosmovision on numerious occasions in my books, critics like Cotterell will pick at pieces and are unable, apparently, to grasp the bigger picture.
Cotterell, like many of my critics, confuse the aspect of discussing the galactic alignment is precise absolute terms with what the ancient naked eye astronomers were looking at --- namely, the dark rift in the Milky Way. Consequently, Cotterell presumes to disprove my theory without actually acknowledging my clearly stated premise, and certainly without addressing the evidence that I have brought to bear on proving that premise. Which is: that the astronomical features involved in the galactic alignment are front and center in Maya creation mythology, ballgame symbolism, king making rites, the iconography at Izapa, and now on Tortuguero Monument 6. My work does not assert that the galactic alignment causes anything but rather that the ancient Maya intended the 13-baktun cycle end date to target the alignment of solstice sun and dark rift. Cotterell's unprofessional method of smearing my work with other "proponents" and of projecting false motivations into my work, as well as misconstruing basic ideas such as the 20-base system of Maya mathematics, is not that surprising. His language around the dark rift as "cosmic dust" avoids citing the fact that the dark rift is a valid feature of Maya cosmology and reveals that he is more interesting in taking pot shots at me indrectly and creating a misleading critique. So, along with many other self-serving and underinformed writers in the New Age marketplace, his words actually don't provide any clarification, but reinforce popular miscnceptions. Unless Cotterell has spent some time studying Maya thought, religion, mythology, and astronomy since he wrote his book in 1994-5, and there's no evidence in his critique that he has, I have to maintain as I did fifteen years ago that he knows very little about the topics necessary for understanding 2012 and Maya comsology.
I've also responded in greater length to critiques similar to Cotterell's, so no need to repeat here. See, for example, the May and October update at http://Update2012.com Best wishes,
John Major Jenkins

Dear Friends,
Links to parts II, III and V are at the end of the article. There's apparently no part IV.

The Tzolkin Code and The Science of Synchronicity: A New Way to See and Experience the World. SOS pt.1
Everything is determined, the beginning as well as the end, by forces over which we have no control. It is determined for insects as well as for the stars. Human beings, vegetables, or cosmic dust, we all dance to a mysterious tune, intoned in the distance by an invisible piper.”

Synchronicity: What is it?
synchronicity-by-cg-jungMost of us have a sense of what synchronicity means and have had experiences referred to as being synchronistic. It is common for people to say that “things happen for a reason” when referring to coincidences.
Though, we may not know what the “reasons” are or we may attribute a “reason” when an outcome manifests or when a meaningful connection is made in the classical sense of synchronicity.
The following is an excerpt from Wikipedia and it includes some comments by the famous psychologist Carl G. Jung, the man who coined and defined the term synchronicity.
["Synchronicity is defined as the experience of two or more events that are causally unrelated occurring together in a meaningful manner. To count as synchronicity, the events should be unlikely to occur together by chance.
The concept does not question, or compete with, the notion of causality. Instead, it maintains that just as events may be grouped by cause, they may also be grouped by their meaning. Since meaning is a complex mental construction, subject to conscious and subconscious influence, not every correlation in the grouping of events by meaning needs to have an explanation in terms of cause and effect.
The idea of synchronicity is that the conceptual relationship of minds, defined as the relationship between ideas, is intricately structured in its own logical way and gives rise to relationships that are not causal in nature. These relationships can manifest themselves as simultaneous occurrences that are meaningfully related—the cause and the effect occur together.
Synchronous events reveal an underlying pattern, a conceptual framework that encompasses, but is larger than, any of the systems that display the synchronicity. The suggestion of a larger framework is essential to satisfy the definition of synchronicity as originally developed by Swiss psychologist Carl Gustav Jung.
Jung coined the word to describe what he called "temporally coincident occurrences of acausal events." Jung variously described synchronicity as an "acausal connecting principle", "meaningful coincidence" and "acausal parallelism".] (1)
