These concepts of "Bow Shock", "Galactic Plane", "Cosmic Rays", and "Magnetic Fields" may tie into DW's mention of Ether(ic) density - that as the solar system shifts to higher density there is some "Shift of the Ages". It may be that the Sun, enormous as it is, has some magnetic "sensitivity" in regards to the magnetic flux density gradients of the galaxy and as it traverses in and out of the galactic plane it becomes "perturbed" in a way that ripples through the solar system, to the planets which may otherwise be weakly coupled to these effects. I wonder if the frequency of the sun spot cycle has some galactic tie - it wouldn't surprise me, though it seems somewhat mysterious.
