I just wanted to add one song to David's list of inspriational music, as this song sends such a moving message. The song is called, "Calling All Angels", and is performed by Jane Siberry with K.D. Lang. I've also included the lyrics below. Try to get past the video clip of the tv show, "Smallville", that the song is set to (if that turns you off)...but hey, don't we all sometimes have a secret wish for a hero to come and save us?

Santa Maria, Santa Teresa, Santa Anna, Santa Susannah
Santa Cecilia, Santa Copelia, Santa Domenica, Mary Angelica
Frater Achad, Frater Pietro, Julianus, Petronilla
Santa, Santos, Miroslaw, Vladimir
and all the rest

a man is placed upon the steps, a baby cries
and high above the church bells start to ring
and as the heaviness the body oh the heaviness settles in
somewhere you can hear a mother sing

then it's one foot then the other as you step out onto the road
how much weight? how much weight?
then it's how long? and how far?
and how many times before it's too late?

calling all angels
calling all angels
walk me through this one
don't leave me alone
calling all angels
calling all angels
we're cryin' and we're hurtin'
and we're not sure why...

and every day you gaze upon the sunset
with such love and intensity
it's almost...it's almost as if
if you could only crack the code
then you'd finally understand what this all means

but if you could...do you think you would
trade in all the pain and suffering?
ah, but then you'd miss
the beauty of the light upon this earth
and the sweetness of the leaving

calling all angels
calling all angels
walk me through this one
don't leave me alone
callin' all angels
callin' all angels
we're tryin'
we're hopin'
we're hurtin'
we're lovin'
we're cryin'
we're callin'
'cause we're not sure how this goes

***Peace***

So much great music out there...

I have a massive collection of music out there, mostly classic rock which I'm sure you've all heard before

But three of my favorite bands are Neutral Milk Hotel and Nick Drake.
The first two are acoustic.

Nick Drake is really incredibly beautiful, deep, and sweetly melancholy music.
Neutral Milk Hotel is very folksy, lighthearted and charming.

The wrens are probably my favorite Indy Rock band. Really great instrumentation, not overwhelming, very pure.

I also really like the Psymbient (electronic psy ambient) band Shpongle.
Many great, very deep songs. Try "Around the world in a tea daze" for a very world-beat like one, or "Upon a sea of blissful awareness" for some chillingly beautiful, meditative lyrics.

I listen to a ton of music... and I really recommend the above. Just thought I'd help. I'd be glad to recomend albums if you'd like, but the first three bands only released a couple and listening to songs by them individually IMHO does'nt do them justice.

I enjoy a youtube musician named Rackyl,
she has a cute dog that sits and listens as she plays
and the experience for me is one of sitting in a room
listening to a good friend sharing music.

This is her version of a song from a while ago:

And a more recent version of the same song, she's improved:

I find her to be a totally inspiring musician.
