David,
Thank you for posting those inspirational music videos in your latest blog entry. I have turned to MANY of these songs during times of sadness in my life. Don't Give Up and Purple Rain are particularly poignant to me and also two of my favorites songs. Oddly enough, I'm going through some of my own personal turmoil right now that has nothing to do with VT, and hearing Don't Give Up was exactly what I needed.
Thank you...
Dana

Thank you for responding, Dana. I got some interesting dream feedback on negative responses some readers had (never verbalized to me in email) based on my posting of those videos. It predominantly has to do with people seeking escape by coming to sites like this and not wanting to process their shadow side.
In the next post I am going to clearly explain why it is not only advisable to process your grief when it comes up, but how utterly defeating it can be to your spiritual path and personal integrity if you make a habit of distracting yourself from it.
I may finish it up today [Saturday] since it's mostly done, otherwise Monday. I have a lot of other work going on at the same time and I feel like one of those plate-spinners at the moment...

Perhaps this has something to do with the human nature of looking for instant gratification. People don't want to feel pain. It's easier to ignore it or look for something that you think will instantly take the grief away.
In a way, it's like people that are looking for that miracle diet or gadget that's going to get you buff over night. I've been totally guilty of this longing for instant gratification myself in the past. But, as the saying goes, "no pain, no gain." Problems don't just magically go away. It takes a lot of courage and work to confront our shadow side, and not everyone will be willing to do it.
