i was thinking about a person named david.
then i thought about a symbol known as the "star of david."
i offer this simple explanation that you may find useful.
the explanation is drawn from the analogy of color theory.
take a circle and starting at the top, mark
positions 60 degrees apart. label the positions
outside the circle as follows:
top = violet, love
top right = red, deceit
bottom right = orange, understanding
bottom = yellow, fear
bottom left = green, truth
upper left = blue, ignorance
note that violet, blue, and green are cool, peaceful colors.
remember that ignorance is bliss.
note that yellow, orange, and red are warm, angry colors.
note that every position is polar opposite 180 degrees away
from it's complement. by being complements i mean that if you
mix them they neutralize each other.
notice the polarity of love and fear. this is a
mode that people commonly operate on. it yields a color
harmony of violet-yellow. this could be represented by a
straight vertical line connecting them that can easily
become instable and fall down.
there are other harmonies. the most interesting to me
are the triadic harmonies. a most common triad is
blue, red, and yellow. this is found in pixels of monitors.
here, this triad corresponds to ignorance, deceit, and fear.
this is represented by a connecting triangle that has its
point facing down. it also can become instable and fall down.
another triad exists, it is green, violet, and orange.
this triad corresponds to truth, love, and understanding.
this is represented by a connecting triangle with its point
facing up. with a flat base, this is the most stable color
harmony found in the circle. also note that this color
harmony is found quite prominently in nature as the orange
of leaves or grass, green foliage, and violets found in
shadows or distant mountains.
the triangles could be considered in terms of stability
or the direction that they take you.
together, the triangles form the "star of david".
