i have seen flashes/sparks for years
not sure of their source or purpose

i have always been a night owl
thinking sleep was a waste of time
averaging 3 to 5 hours a night

i have also been taking more and more
anxiety/depression related meds,
as my life was spiraling out of control
the flashes became stronger and sometimes
caused me to duck out of the way

recently a wise shrink said to me
"you're not crazy, you're exhausted!"

it took one week of detox from all meds and caffeine
forcing myself into bed at 10:00 and up at 6:00
practicing meditation and relaxation techniques
(exercising too - yuck)

and *poof*, no meds, no anxiety, no sparks

Just too add my 2 cents - I cant relate to most of the phenomanon you
all speak of, but, I do actually flinch or almost duck away from
certain things that are not there. Its as if I am reacting to
something coming at me, but its more like a 6th sense, because I see
nothing whatsoever with my eyes. But I truely sense as though I am
dodging something that is very real.
