aaron,
if a binaural beat generator is what i think it is i have some comments and
possibly some data for you. give us a brief description.

subject: [asc2k] strange sensations from binaural beats
i was messing around with a binaural beat generator today. i was using it to
try to go to sleep, i had it start out at 12hz and go down to 3hz. when it
was at about 3hz i got a really funny stretch feeling in the top of my brain
right down the middle and it felt like my body started spinning, yet not in
a normal sense that would make you nausiatingly dizzy, but so fast it felt
like i was facing all directions at once. has anyone else ever messed with a
binaural beat generator on here? the feeling was really cool. although this
is the first time something like that has happened to me. was that the
begining of an out of body experience that i stopped before it got
completely started? anyone have any thoughts on this?

arron,
everything about brain activity is a phase process. in fact by the premises
of my own physics everything in our physicality is understandable as in a
phase composition.
all of the wonders of the brain can be explored through pure consciousness.
one does not need technological synthesis to access its wonders. as a matter
in point the sensations of out of the body experience can be artificially
induced but the actual experience cannot.
i come to this opinion from a life of physics and a life of metaphysics. i
have done more than my share of experimenting. i found no wonders in the new
age ideas about chemically altered states that had encoded response values.
i.e. true learning. the sad part is, what is actually altered show up in the
experimenters offspring.
my youngest son is a physicist working on virtual reality techniques that
allow the participant to experience all of the accompanying sensations of
virtual touch, smell and body motion. these experiences can be a cognizant
part of the persons reality but the brain will not encode the sensations
into a function matrix. the mind remembers seeing and or touching but a
useable response to the experience does not fully exist. the final
connections must be made in a real experience.
this phenomena was discovered when video was first used as an advance
teaching media. the visual perception was there but a learned response to
the stimuli was not. video is considered as the least viable tool of
learning.
for instance a study was made with students learning martial arts. one
grouped were shown video footage of detailed motions and reactions. another
group were asked to visualize within their minds the same motions and
reactions. those who video viewed the process were much less able to execute
them than those who mentally visualized them.
from my place as a sage i say experiment in all that is safe. however, do
not be deluded by mere sensations that come from your experiments.
the great scientist tesla experimented with electromagnetic brain and body
phase alterations. there are some interesting incidents mentioned in one of
his biographies written in, i believe 1972 or 74.
good luck,

i was using the brainwave generator from bwgen.com . it uses a phase
difference between 2 different audio frequencies to cause your brain to
oscillate at the difference frequency. i just got my light & sound machine
today in the mail i'm gonna play with that later.
