Strider

Hello Zee!
I finally have found some time to sit down with the wonderful ideas you sent
to me last month and try to digest and integrate them. The purpose of my
response, today, is to restate what I THINK you said, in my personal
terminology; to be sure I actually understand what you REALLY said. Words are
wonderful tools; but, sometimes, they really get in the way of understanding.
Please let me know where I got it wrong!
I have decided to post this on the asc2k site just in case anyone else would
like to share his or her insights. I'm always delighted to hear and learn from
what the other group members have to say. Since this response could be a little
long, I will send it in installments over the next week or so.
The original question was: "How do you BECOME the one creator WITHOUT losing
your unique, separate identity?" The group's discussion of this question
produced additional questions about the nature of "self," the nature of
"Oneness," and the relationship between these two seemingly contradictory states
of Being (separate "selves" vs unity in the Creator.)
Zee wrote: Oneness, is a principle. It is not a law. It is a principle, a
pattern, the result of connectivity, connectivity that persists, in spite of the
distortions of selfhood.
Strider here: Actually, I tend to look at connectivity as the result of
Oneness, rather than the other way around. :) Everything is "connected," as I
conceptualize it, because all "things" exist only as images within the
consciousness of One Self. One Self is the deepest reality, the Dreaming Mind,
from which all "things" arise and in which they all appear to be either separate
or connected, depending on our point of view within the Dream. Things are
"separate," within the Dream, as experiential elements (points of conscious
focus) that give the Dream content. All things are "connected," within the
Dream, because they all exist within the indivisible, timeless Oneness of
Original Mind, One Self.
Perhaps, we actually are saying the same thing. Our language, with its
emphasis on describing "things," makes it difficult to verbalize unities. The
thing "cause" must, from the perspective of our language, produce a thing called
"effect." Perhaps that distinction results from what you call the "delay in
consequences" that is necessary for us to perceptually experience discrete
events within a field of time (i.e. the Dream.) Perhaps, understood more
deeply, the conditions we perceive as "cause" and "effect" arise and exist
simultaneously, as two APPARENT expressions of one timeless cause/effect event.
Cause and effect, heads and tails of one single coin. Multiplicity and unity,
two perspectives of one seamless, timeless, eternally existing, eternally
complete pattern. Both perspectives necessary for the Dream to exist, just as a
coin could not exist without both heads and tails. An infinite number of
mutually arising "causes" and "effects" -- representing infinite local
perspectives of one primal, eternally present cause/effect event (the
Creator/Creation) -- would demonstrate the APPARENT property we experience
within space and time as "connectivity." In this sense, neither Oneness nor
connectivity would be the "cause" or "result" of the other. The Pattern of
Oneness/connectivity would be an infinite, timeless, unbroken, profoundly
beautiful Unity existing eternally within, and eternally expressing, the
infinite, timeless Oneness of Original Mind, One Self, the Dreamer.
The purpose of the "delay in consequences," the distortion of "free will," and
the distortion of individual "selves," would be this: to serve as perceptual
"tricks" that God uses to focus His/Her/Our infinite, unbounded awareness on
discrete, SEEMINGLY separate cause/.effect events within the infinite, timeless
Unity of the Pattern of Creation. Strider, sharing these ideas with Zee, would
be one of those points on this vast tapestry where One Self is exploring, within
the APPARENT fields of space and time, discrete elements of the infinite,
timeless, unbroken Unity of the Pattern. We could think about it as looking at a
vast, beautiful oil painting and focusing our attention on the masterful
rendering of individual trees, mountains, yellow jackets, Striders, Zees, or
whatever. The Artist, by intentionally narrowing Her field of view, immerses
Herself within, fully experiences, and enjoys all of the minute details of Her
wonder-full Painting of All That Is, or ever will
Be. He experiences and enjoys Himself as Strider. He experiences and enjoys
Himself as Zee. She experiences and enjoys Herself as yellow jacket, or Ra, or
raccoon, or spiral galaxy, or whatever! There is only One Self. The appearance
of time, space and separate "selves" is a PERCEPTUAL DISTORTION, chosen by One
Self to fully experience It's Dream of Many-ness, in all densities of existence.
In truth, there is only Unity, one timeless Pattern, one timeless Dream, all
"selves" are One Self. That, Zee, is how I understand your statement that
"connectivity persists, in spite of the distortions of selfhood."
That's it for today. I think, Zee, that we are on the same "wavelength"
despite the inevitable "distortions" created by our dependence on words. Please
let me know if I'm wrong about this!
Peace/Love
