Hey, according to David's suggestion, I'm going to repost the message I
posted to the list.

While reading the Law of One books graciously donated by Kory, and
also reading other works, I have come upon a question for which your input
would be most greatly appreciated.
In the realm of metaphysics, it seems to me that there are two
schools of thought that explain more or less "how we got here."
The first one is sort of the "fall from grace" idea, where man
lived in paradise and at some point lost his higher abilities and became
trapped in the carnal body. This view is reflected in works like Course in
Miracles, Aquarian Gospel, Melchizdek Truth Principles, and lots and lots of
other metaphysical works. The idea is that something happened, and now we
are not in the condition that we are supposed to be in now, and our goal is
to get out of this earthly condition and back to the oneness, back to the
paradise. It kind of gives the connotation that "something went wrong" and
that we are here to correct our mistakes. Understand, I'm trying to be
broad and general so as to best describe what it is I mean.
Then you got the other school of thought, which is reflected in
Law of One and David's work, among others, which talks about our progression
towards the goal of oneness as merely a growth, and that this is how the
universe works... conciousness evolves through the densities to come back to
oneness. However, the difference between this idea and the other school of
thought is that this seems to imply that what we are going through in our
progression towards the ideal is a natural, acceptable phenomenon; that we
are exactly where we are supposed to be, and all that.
So if I had to break it down, I would ask: did we make a mistake
and that's why we're "here", or is our presence "here" part of the natural
evolution and cycle of nature/god? Or is there a reconcilliation between
the two ideas that I don't see?
If this topic doesn't get you discussing, man, nothing will. Hope
everyone's still ok. Walk in the light.

I think this may already be answered to a certain extent. I recently
was shown a part of the Ra material where Ra says that we are only in this
whole polarity/illusion/distortion experience b/c we do not choose to
percieve the unity of all things. I think it meant that our higher selves
made this choice.
But it's still an interesting topic...
