results from the chakra test i recently took:
first - root: under-active (6%)
second - sacral: open (31%)
third - navel: open (38%)
fourth - heart: open (38%)
fifth - throat: open (50%)
sixth - third eye: open (44%)
seventh - crown: open (56%)

among other things i am a practitioner of kriya yoga, an apprenticed reiki
master, and
working with energy is a central focus of mine. my chakra test results indicate
some
imbalance in the root area... i interpret this as corresponding to my current
situation
involving primary sources of income... i've just vacated a former rental tenant
and the
company i'm with is undergoing major upheaval... concerns of monetary stability
are
creating a bit of fear and uncertainty... thus, my root energies are unbalanced
at this time.

many in this group have had questions about their chakra test results. hopefully
the
following information can be of some help to those questioning the meaning of
their test
results.

when all the chakras are open, then our chakra system is balanced. when a chakra
becomes blocked (underactive), or muddied with residual energy (overactive),
then our
physical and emotional health can be affected. often this occurs habitually as
the result of
negative or incomplete belief systems. the effects of our habits, feelings,
beliefs,
thoughts, fears and desires can be found in our chakras.

the goal is a strong, clear, balanced energy system. the more open, clear and
balanced
the chakras, the more energy can flow through your system. this energy is
essential for
vitality, health, and continued growth on all levels.

when your first chakra is operating in harmony with your body's other energy
centers,
(is balanced/open) you will find yourself acting in the moderation of wisdom and
with an
eye toward reaching your higher goals. an underactive root chakra can lead to
feelings or
fear of instability, abandonment, and insecurity, as well as a depletion of
vital energy. first
chakra energies control sensations of bliss, both physical and mental, and fuel
the will to
survive, to find safety, and to accumulate material wealth... when overactive,
these issues
are predominant.

a balanced second chakra embraces both sides of everything, giving you a healthy
understanding of your emotions as well as those of others. underactive: an utter
lack of
emotion and dwindling passions; mistrustful, anti-social, follower, introverted,
unable to
express emotions. an overactive second chakra can lead to feelings of extreme
empathy,
which can cause you to be ruled by the emotions of others, or to be selfish,
arrogant,
power seeking, overly proud.

a balanced third chakra empowers you to grow in positive ways and inspires you
to act
on your desires. because of its connection to the ego, when the third chakra is
underactive, it is common to experience feelings of inadequacy, doubt,
rejection,
depression, lethargy and intense worry. overactive: leads to the desire to exert
inappropriate control over one's environment, to be judgmental, stubborn,
critical, craving
constant change.

the fourth chakra is believed by many to be at the core of your emotional being.
balanced: it can be a source of love, confidence, creativity, and inspiration.
discord within
the heart chakra can affect all your energy centers, because the fourth chakra
is a gate
between the upper and lower chakras. underactive: lacking compassion, needing
confirmation of self worth, possessive, feeling unloved. overactive: jealousy,
stingy, taken
advantage of, angry, overconfident.

a balanced fifth chakra can give us the ability to create what we want through
our
expression, synthesize old ideas into new thoughts, and interpret the resonance
that is all
around us. underactive: our voice can become timid, hushed; one may resist
change, be
slow to respond, stubborn. overactive: we can forget to listen, and we may be
unable to
effectively communicate with those around us; may be domineering, fanatical,
traditional,
hyperactive.

the sixth chakra is the source of internal visions, telepathy, and intuition. a
balanced
third eye is open to guidance from all the other chakras. underactive: can lead
to
oversensitivity, lack of discipline, a strong fear of success, self doubt,
envious,
superstitious. overactive energy: often results in spiritual arrogance,
unhealthy pride,
impatience, belittling the behavior of others and an inability to see what is in
front of
oneself.

the seventh chakra is our connection to our "higher selves" and to the "divine."
it is
associated with wisdom and integration of our eternal selves with our current
physical
selves. balanced: we feel calm, deeply at ease and fully aware, with a gentle
and
compassionate nature, free of worry; we feel connected to the universe/god, our
life
source, unprejudiced and quite aware of the world and yourself. underactive: one
can feel
cut off from spirituality, feel alone and separate, feel misunderstood,
shameful, have a
negative self image, lack tenderness, self-denial. overactive: probably
intellectualizing
things too much, need to feel indispensable, need/want sympathy.

i've noticed that root deficiency in particular seems to be very common. a
great many of us seem to have trouble with the idea that we have the
fundamental right to exist...i'll freely admit that this is something i've
always found difficult myself. that could possibly make for a good topic
here, since ra mentioned that balancing the root is critical to balancing
the others. so then...how do we convince ourselves that we *do* have the
right to exist...and more importantly, on what is the right to exist based?

>eye toward reaching your higher goals. an underactive root chakra can lead
to feelings or
>fear of instability, abandonment, and insecurity, as well as a depletion of
vital energy. first

this is how i feel most of the time.

i just took the chakra test again. the first time i took it a week or so
ago, my root was -86%, and now it's only -25%...i have been trying to feel
more secure in myself, and it looks like it's paying off a bit.
