Does anyone find themselves awake in the morning, hearing themselves
sort of telling a dream in your head, in your own voice, and seeing
the dream happen, but also fully awake and aware of their
physical "reality"? This happened to me (not for the first time)
today and I just wondered if this happens to someone else? Of course,
I'm sleeping with an infant and a toddler, my sleep is very
interrupted. Maybe this is my higher self making sure I get in enough
dream time! P-)

Peace,

Polly Miriam

Polly,
It's happened to me on many occassions, just not lately. I know that if you
record your dreams, eventually you will become aware within your dream and
become lucid.
Sometimes I hear a voice speaking with me instead of visual imagery. Except,
when I get up I can't remember anything it was teaching me. I've only had one
lucid dream that I remember. It was incredibly real and vivid. When I awoke I
felt an incredible rush of energy. Since then I've been trying to do it again
with little success.

HI Polly Miriam :)

Ahhh you might be surprised to realize just how 'talented' you are with this
ability and how this ability can be further developed :) That 'half-sleep
state' with needing to be conscious to those around you, is a GIFT indeed :)
Our little ones, and the dedication of the mother, give each other
splendid gifts of growth, just when we think 'oh if only I had a moment to
myself' :)

Yes I have experienced what you speak of, and further developed that
ability. Being 'awake' in the dream, is the MOST powerful creative time of
all :) You can literally 'change' the dream, and when you do that, you
change the outcome of the lucid dreams of future events :) It is your
dream, and you are the 'heroine' of your own dreams :) What stops us being
that is within our dreams, our fears/beliefs overshadow our dreams, playing
out for release, and consequently we usually stay unconscious to this
ability. Because you are so immersed with your children, and in such
constant love of them, your mind is better able to be set free in the dream
state :)

My own young son taught me soooo much. When I brought him home from
hospital I was in the midst of meditating five times a day, and six times
once a week within a very rigorous discipline, and working as Qld Manager of
Integrity Business Software in Australia. I chose to have a nanny come in
during the work week, to assist :) I would wake in the morning, going into
a meditation, and connecting with my son in his crib :) When the child
awakens the first thing they do is cry. That is most likely why you sleep
with your children, you don't have to get up and go to THEM :) So I put two
very large pieces of leggo called duplo in his cot at 4 - 5 months old, and
would hold in my mind the picture of those two pieces joined together...
within moments I would hear a steady clicking as he tried to get those two
pieces together... and voila, I could go to him when I finished the
meditation, and not in response to his crying! Perhaps within a couple of
months he was able to get the two totally together (he came in with the
plane of dexterity and the plane of energy), and the beauty of his coming to
me one morning having created a hair dryer out of duplo was magnificent! I
also found the GREAT value of a rocking chair. Holding him in my arms and
rocking him to sleep, using the four part breathing of yoga, in to a count
of four, hold to a count of four, out to a count of four, and holding with
no breath for a count of four, in alignment with the rocking of the chair,
put my son to sleep very rapidly because he would match my breath and fall
asleep. Great for both of us.

Yet in being on my own I slept better and could be 'out and active all
night' yet totally aware of him, as for example I suddenly leapt out of bed
one night on the run across the hall to his crib (still half asleep) as he
was going over the side of his crib, catching him just in time :)

We believe we 'have to sleep' and so go to sleep with the body-mind
consciousness, and dream, yet alot of people do not remember their dreams at
all! Alternatively to understand that whatever 'level' of consciousness you
can reach and identify with in 'going to sleep' maintaining that awake and
lucid consciousness, will mean that you do not sleep at all! For
consciousness never sleeps :) Oddly enough it is just one of our more
useless beliefs :) I spent six years in anxiety feeling I was never
sleeping! Then I spent the next six years loving every night, and the
adventures, the insights and understandings, and YES all the conversations
that take place!!!!

So when we have a 'bad' dream or what is often termed a nightmare, we can BE
AWAKE in that dream and change it, re-running it over and over like a strip
of movie film and direct it any way we choose! Now I know that is not
common knowledge, yet it is a powerful part of being a creator :) And
laying down in comfort for the body, instead of cross-legged is an asset :)
I was initially/and still am very cautious in changing the dreams, because I
did not think I had such a right! If the dream involved someone else, I
would always ask permission... and spend most of the time ensuring that what
was being done was for the highest good of ALL. When another is totally
asleep to creating their reality and goes from one drama to the next
intensification of drama, well they do not learn anything as they do not
have the knowledge. Thus one that does, can assist to lighten the
burden/load, to gain a breather and a fresh perspective for that one :) And
our greatest lessons learnt so easily can come in the dream state, with full
understanding. Imagine spending a whole night with the Buddha! Talk about
enlightening :) I even spent a night with Elvis Presley, and must admit
this wonderful being is sooo loving and brilliant and gave me a great lesson
on being humble, and how to let go of 'wanting to be special'. And I was
never a fan of his! Well we got his music from the library the next day...
and spent two weeks dancing to his wonderful love songs and feeling his
presence!

So YES, your Higher Self, YOU the Spirit that you are, connecting through
your Soul, are doing the most wonderful things day and especially NIGHT for
those so awake :) As I progressed in that endeavor, I would suddenly feel
this sensation of nearly passing out, of having to lay down and go seem to
sleep, and if that occurs with you, simply command your Spirit and those
that walk with you to look after your children very carefully first, for you
could be being called upon to assist another Loved One in dire straits in
that moment! Always ensure you call on that protection for those around
you, yourself, and if you are driving a vehicle, you must say: God NOT NOW,
I am driving. Now the assistance that would have been given may have helped
you 'emotionally' for what is just around the corner, however, you must stay
in charge of your vehicle etc. It just means that perhaps the energy you
would have gained in preparation could not be given and that you will feel
the emotional effects afterwards, yet that is not the end of the world :) I
have some interesting experiences I could share with you and if interested
you may contact me off list, just thought I would respond on the forum
initially as there may be those here that would also benefit from such a
sharing as above :) Here's hoping I have not overdone it, and gone outside
the guidelines :) Z (11:38 on the clock = hidden 11:11 on the send)
