Hello Group,

I have years of National Geographics, going back to 1985 and a few books from
previous years. I love Geo's science, geography and human life drama. It is also
online at nationalgeographic.com .

The February 2006 magazine studies our chemical changes when we are in
love....really interesting. Here is a short quote from the introduction:

""People experiencing romantic love, it turns out, have a chemical profile in
their brains similar to that of people who suffer from obsessive-compulsive
disorder....love, it seems, lights up certain areas of the brain and releases
chemicals that provoke hyperactivity, recklessness, and exhilaration."

Ah, HAH! NOW we understand:). lol Here is the main article:

This url may change as they add later months to the online information, so if
you access this post in say a month from noe, you may have to search on Geo.
Enjoy! Chris

As an addendum, the article online is only a one-page summary. Further
reading of the article requires joining, but there are many other articles
there that are free and doesn't require subscribing. Chris

HI Chris :) Ahh you are talking about my favorite subject, understanding
the effects of our thoughts on the brain as well as the cells in our body!
Candace Pert with her Molecules of Emotion is right on, as is Bruce Lipton
understanding the 'reaction' effects on our body, when we react to our
database of beliefs :) When we get locked into a pattern of thinking, and
do this over and over that it becomes an addiction, wow the chemical affect
on the brain is astonishing... as per Dr Joe in What the Bleep Do We Know,
is that we now know that those thoughts that 'wire together fire together'
in the brain! No wonder we use what less than a third of 10% of our brain
today?!!!!

Those disorders of obsessive-compulsive behavior become the repetitive focus
of one's thoughts to the exclusion of LIFE! as do all addictive behaviors :)
