View Full Version : Redshift Quantization

Hello,
Has anyone here heard of the quantization of redshift from objects in
the universe such as galaxies, quasars etc? I've been reading about
it, and it occurred to me that it could (speculatively) provide
evidence for the energy levels in matter abruptly and periodically
jumping to a higher level.
Obviously this would relate to the notion of universal evolution being
accompanied by an increase in vibrational frequency.
If anyone's interested, I could post my line of reasoning and a few
rough calculations that I've made.
Love and light of quantized frequencies,

Thomas: Wow! Talk about premonition!?! I had a dream
about 3-4 weeks ago that took me on a journey
throughout the cosmos. If I would have been able to
take a camcorder and share this, I think we would all
have been stunned, in every, way, shape & form. There
are things out there so ridiculously beautiful that
the views would simply bring us to our knees crying in
awe, wonder, and revelation. However, upon waking, a
voice kept repeating to me, and eventually
fading........."redshift"......"redshift"...."redshift"
...........and I have been grabbing whatever material
I can on this & devouring it. For whatever reason,
this apparently is something very important (perhaps
for me?) to research. I have no answer as to "why?"
Graeme, if the information you have is "too big" to
post on here, then e-mail me, as this "study" has
currently consumed most of my free
time................what an incredible world we live
in!?!
Much love, & much light to all,
~ Thomas

Hello!
Your enthusiasm is appreciated! here is a page I read lately, sorry
if it's a bit technical... It was a bit technical for me too, and
I'm doing a Physics degree.
http://www.ldolphin.org/setterfield/redshift.html
The basic gist, as I understand it, is that the quantization of
redshift can be explained if the energy levels (within the atoms)of
galaxies "jump" by a quantized amount, abruptly, at certain points
in time. By my calculations, according to the smallest redshift
quantum observed, this happens once every (approximately) 100,000
years.
The only other explanation I can think of for this effect is that
the universe is arranged in concentric shells centred on the Earth,
which is obviously preposterous. Ever since Copernicus, we know
we're not at the centre of anything!
Some of the main names to google search for (with "redshift
quantization" are Halton Arp, William Tifft, and also B. Guthrie and
W. Napier, who confirmed Tifft's observations of quantization.
These people are all actually briefly mentioned in my introductory
astronomy and astrophysics text.
It should be said that the validity of these ideas depends heavily
on Tifft's, Guthrie's and Napier's data being correct, but if it is,
then the current model of redshift being due to recessional velocity
(a central pillar of the big bang theory) is definitely wrong.
Obviously that is quite a radical assertion!
