View Full Version : Indigo Children/Adults

Is anyone aware that Indigo, crystal and rainbow children may be some of
these wanderers?
Is anyone else here familiar with Edgar Cayce's prediction of a new root
race during this time?
There is a great book called "The indigo children" by Lee Carroll and Jan
Tober. Apparently a few indigos were born starting in 1970's and many
more started coming in around 1982. I read this book and really wept for
I knew that these descriptions were talking about me! I've been led here!
I just wanted to find out if anyone else has come this this conclusion
about the Wanderers being Indigos or if these is two different phenomena.
The criterion of Wanderer is vague, while the criterion of Indigo is
quite detailed.
<a href="http://www.metagifted.org/topics/metagifted/indigo/adultIndigos/areYouAnAdultIndigo.html">http://www.metagifted.org/topics/metagifted/indigo/adultIndigos/areYouAnAdultInd\
igo.html</a>

The mission of indigos was supposed to bring in the new world. I would
like to research this more about what Edgar Cayce prophesied about them.

Any comments greatly appreciated...

Thanks,
Kate

According to this list, I'd say it's almost certain that I'm an Indigo. I
asked myself if being a Wanderer could be a possibility...but the main
reason why I don't tend to think I am is because what I've read about
Wanderers causes me to associate the idea of being a Wanderer with a high
level of spiritual maturity. From most of what I've seen, I would probably
have to describe myself as deeply immature in many ways. I've known a lot
of people who I haven't been anywhere near morally anyway...I will say that
much.

Thanks for the link, Kate. :)

Hi Kate
There was an interesting thread about this on the board last year
which you'll find here:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/asc2k/message/15204

You'll also find a lot of discussions about indigos if you search
the board archives (search box is at the bottom of the board home
page).

My understanding of this is that wanderer's soul origins are likely
5th or 6th density who have chosen to incarnate on Earth to help
out. However, while wanderers may have come from a whole host of
different places, what we all have in common is that we are human
here and now, physically just like everyone else. There is no
reason at all why an indigo couldn't be a wanderer. My
understanding of indigo, crystal and rainbow entities is that these
terms relate more to the energetic transformation to 4d. Children
being born now are likely to be more 'tuned-in' to 4d than those
born, say 50 years ago, as the transition to 4d is underway.

If you feel you are a wanderer I would thoroughly recommend
reading 'Wanderer's Handbook' on www.llresearch.org - an abridged
version of the complete book has recently gone up in PDF format.

What I would be cautious of however, is reading too much into the
labels - it's very easy to get caught up in trying to categorise who
you are by these sorts of definitions, and I have seen on other
message boards an indigo/crystal/rainbow competitiveness which is
unfortunate and unhelpful. What really matters, I think, is
recognising that we are all one, and that we are all in the process
of becoming.

Hope this is of some help

Lorna, I just finished reading through part of David's Life Story on
his website and found his Brief Quiz for Sleeping Wanderers quite
helpful. I could relate to so much of it, though I've never knowingly
had any direct or indirect contact with UFOs that I'm aware of, most
of the rest of it just felt so right.

Petrus, I'm not sure if a strong spirituality is something that is
needed in a wanderer. I think it comes quite naturally once you "wake
up." I don't think it happens all at once either. Plus, we have to
take into account what we think is immoral behavior, may not be so. I
think even Ra said that there is no right or wrong, just opportunities
for catalyst. If we learn from behaviors and actions that may not be
favorable to ourselves and others, than we are doing exactly what were
meant to do.

Just my two cents.

Hi Kate,

I have felt for a long while now that the labeling of individuals at
Indigos, Crystals, Rainbows, Earth Angels, and Wanderers... (What
ever you want to call them) is basically an attempt to describe the
same phenomena that is now being observed, recognized and recorded.

Like Lorna stated, it is easy to become caught up in labels and
categorizing. The problem with that is it can actually hinder your
growth by stepping into someone else's box. (The box here, being
the "label".)

Please don't get me wrong, I think that getting the information out
there to the masses about these special people is important, I just
don't think we can expect them to stay with in the guidelines of what
ever category they started in.

I have worked as volunteer with a preschool for Indigo and Crystal
children. For us, the label just helps us to better understand how
to interact with the child and help with their development.

I am waiting anxiously to see what these kids are going to do. One of
the things that make them interesting is that there are so many of
them here now.

Imagine having had others like yourself to commune with as a child!

Peace, Love and Laughter,
Cate

I think what we should all do here is familiarize ourselves with the traits
common to Wanderers (in the Wanderers Handbook) and what others have said
about Indigos.

I seem to remmeber from reading that Indigos can remember past lives, and
this would make them different than Wanderers, who have chosen to forget
their incarnations. So, all of you, please help me and research this!

Hi Chris,
To be honest, the rationalist/skeptic in me suspects that the "Indigo" thing
is really more a case of the current trend of high numbers of diagnosed
cases of autism/Turette's/ADHD being recognised by the New Age movement.
While it is true that the increase in autistic individuals is interesting,
and not easily explained, (well, to me it is explicable, but that's another
topic) it's also perhaps more concerning than these sites make out. Growing
up with autism is no joke...as a kid I ended up literally questioning my
humanity at times, due to the extreme levels of ostracision I experienced.
My father even once made the comment that if concentration camps were ever
opened in Australia, I and other similarly autistic individuals would find
ourselves first in line for "processing."

Great stuff Petrus. Let us also examine whether Indigo may be synonymous
with autism? Lots of different avenues we can explore here. Everyone, just
try to remember that we don't want to promote specific doctors or methods,
etc. We just want to look at the metaphysical defintions of these children
and see if we can help each other thru these definitions as they correspond
to a Wanderers definition.

Humans need categories and names and definitions, so maybe we can come to
some great Wikipedia spot here! Go for it guys, just remember not to
advertize specific methods and teachers. Chris

Petrus, I hope you can read that again now and have a
bone-stretching, belly-aching, roll-about-the-floor laughing fit.
Some comedian, your father!

A good trick for 'transient' memories, is to picture a plastic
shopping bag, put the offending memory/pain/guilt/or whatever in
the bag, wish the content well on its journey, tie the top, and
toss it over your shoulder. 'Poof! Gone!'

Re "..high numbers of diagnosed

My view is they are more likely to be 'special' children than
sick. These are fashionable diagnoses, by quacks to further the
sale of chemicals which have no place in our bodies, and
certainly not in our children. Who in all compassion would
dispense Seroxat/Ritalin for children?

Love.

Neil

Hi Neil,

Interesting idea. I guess the only real reason why I've held onto the
concentration camp thing is because I've wondered if it had any basis in
fact.

> My view is they are more likely to be 'special' children than
> sick. These are fashionable diagnoses, by quacks to further the

I don't necessarily view autism as sickness at all. The way I actually view
it is as an unstable mutation which has arisen as the human genome's attempt
to adapt to people being increasingly dependent on computers. I will admit
I also see the increase in autistic diagnoses as an indication of the
beginning of the Aquarian period, astrologically. I tend to believe we'll
get to a time when the majority of the people on the planet will be what we
now call autistic. The reason why it can still produce disabling effects is
because as a mutation, I don't believe it has completely stabilised yet. It
will, though, and when it does, the people who have it will simply be
neurologically adapted for life online in much the same way as fish have
physically adapted for life in an aquatic environment.

So looking at it, in a way my beliefs are similar to what is said here about
the Indigos...I just haven't seen much evidence myself for the energetic
stuff.

> certainly not in our children. Who in all compassion would
> dispense Seroxat/Ritalin for children?

Medication has genuinely helped me, but there are risks involved. I also
personally do not believe that medication should be used on a permanent
basis...it should be used on a temporary basis while a person is learning
skills/strategies to cope with abnormal levels of emotional sensitivity if
they have them. Before I started with prescription medication, I was
attempting to use worse things for emotional anaesthesia. The single main
area where I related to what it said on the Indigo site is where it talks
about emotional sensitivity. I am extremely sensitive myself, to the point
where I've prayed at times that such sensitivity be taken from me...I do not
want it. I went through a period of taking antidepressants, and I have
since learned (at least to some extent) how to emotionally mediate myself.
Because of this, I ceased taking the medication, as I did not want the
health risks/side effects for any longer than was necessary.

Hi Petrus,
Welcome to the club!!!!
I remember hearing that I was too sensitive, as if it was a curse,
since I can remember. So thru the years I've tried to tune it down,
ignore it, shut it off, and hope I was sane. I've been to all types
of doctors and counselors. And have been on and off medications just
to be able to cope in the "normal" world.
Lately I've come to see this aspect as a blessing, a wonderful
opportunity for spiritual growth and a tool to help others. I no
longer feel like a freak but rather see it as a Divine gift of
precious insight, an insight to be treasured.
Learning to distinguish between different types of energies and sort
thru them is no easy task, but with practice and patience it is
defiantly do able. Once I'm able to objectively decipher the energy,
then I can handle it. My goal is to transmute the energy in Love and
send it back to its proper place in the universe.
Instead of being called "too sensitive", lately I've been "informed"
that I'm an empath, a sensitive, intuitive? much better that the
psycho freak I used to call myself. LOL Yup, I can even laugh about
it now. Currently I choose to call this gift a blessing and see
where it will lead.
Recently I met a lovely lady who calls herself an empath. This gift
was shared with her sister and growing up they supported each other
in this sensory adventure. Every time I speak with her I can see
Love flow from her eyes and feel surrounded in Love pouring from
her. Just being in her presence is a joyful retreat. She genuinely
has the ability to be a gift of Love to others. I cannot help but
see that being "sensitive" has been a great asset in her being of
service to others.
Blessings and Joy
Patty

Hi Neil,
No I had not been there, thanks for the link!
As far as understanding labels with this phenomena, I think it is very
important that indigos know who they are and wake up to their purpose
here. Basically, an indigo knows if they are one, there really isn't
much of a question in their minds when they see the criteria. Especially
because they were born with a persistant nagging feeling that they were
supposed to do something VERY important for humanity in this life. I
believe indigos are the harbingers of the new world view of
consciousness, 4D.

After sharing my life story, I personally was told by two people at my
school on separate occasions, one student, one professor, that I sound
like I am an Indigo. I looked it up and instantly knew it to be correct.
I got the book handed to me and read it. This is a "coming home" kind of
experience.
The descriptions in the book were very familiar to "my story."
It is so highly important we meet eachother and unlock what we are
supposed to do. I think it has something to do with balancing our energy
fields with those of the 4 D planet and becoming way showers.

As for the kids with ADD and Autism. I believe this is a subtle energy
AURA issue. Jan Tober documented that these ADD kids and Autistic kids
were undergoing polarity therapy and this was helping them. What is
interesting, is what is going to happen in 2012? A magnetic pole
reversal. What do you think will happen to these indigos, crystal
children, they are going to come ALIVE. No more ADD or autism. Stephen
Lewis says autism is simply consciousness turned in upon itself. He
developed a program to help balance the frequencies in people's energy
fields. He is having amazing results balancing the frequency of autism.
My speculation is with the earth's magnetic flip, their magnetic field
will flip too. But that is only a guess. David probably knows all about
this!

____________________________

I will familiarize myself with the Wanderers book. I have the indigo
children book. I also know that there are some good websites that define
an indigo very well. These are a few things that make it obvious for me
that I am an indigo. By the way, I cannot remember past lives, maybe the
young ones now can remember. These things are very PERSONAL aspects of
how I have defined who I am in this life. These are the most unusual
aspects of me. And golly darn they are written up on a NEW AGE Site!!!
http://www.metagifted.org/topics/metagifted/indigo/adultIndigos/areYouAnA
dultIndigo.html

1) Personally for me I had a thing for Tanzanite. A beautiful purple/blue
(indigo)color stone. Being an Aquarius, with a birthstone of amethest,
purple became my favor color from 6-14 y/o.
At 14 I discovered Tanzanite. I was hypnotized into it's beauty. So to
say that I resonated with that color is an understatement. I would talk
about tanzanite's color probably at least once a month for the rest of my
life. Anyone who knows me knows I'm more interested in the unusual color
of the tanzanite than I am in owning a tanzanite!!! I never bought a real
one, (I did buy a man-made one about 7 years ago)I just LOOKED at them
for 17 years. For kicks, I make trips into Jewelry stores when I walk by,
just to look at this gem. It really moves me and I have never known WHY.
see attached image.

2) Born with extreme sensitivity to color, light, geometry, architecture,
places, nature, animals, people, especially dealing with my feelings and
other people's feelings. I was emotionally raw. From 23 to 26 went to
therapy and somehow achieved emotional balance and life has been fabulous
ever since.

3) Born highly intuitive and been that way ever since.

3a) Always needed to know WHY. This was viewed by adults as fresh, cheeky
or obstinant, but it was just a "why". (People don't like being
questioned.)

4) Born with a Mission: I know I have to do something important. This got
channeled into career obsession.

5) Born with a sense of royalty.

6) Born with an adult's mind trapped in a child's body. IQ of 130+ I
wanted to be treated like an adult and felt myself equal to an adult.

7) Difficult to connect with other peers at school. I connect to people
primarily via MIND. My senses are so embedded with the all, that this is
the most stable way for me to connect to others. Normals view this as
cold, they cannot feel how sensitive and caring I am. It is as if I'm
existing on another plane or dimension, but they can see me. This is
HIGHLY Annoying!!!

7a) Existential depression in highschool.

8) Early psychic experiences and interested in psychic and spiritual
phenonmena from 5 years old onward...

9) Born with an affinity for Truth.

10) Cannot stand red tape, beaurocracy, injustice.

11) I am highly creative and visionary. I became an environments artist
for game industry for 8 years.

12) I have a very strange /creative thinking style. I call it top-down,
versus the normal bottom-up processing. I think associationally and
constantly look for patterns in apparent randomness. It is as if my mind
as made to discover synchronicities. In college, I discovered chaos
theory, fractal theory, these made perfect sense to my thinking
style...So did quantum consciousness theory.

13) Difficulty dealing with computers or machines when I'm upset or
stressed. I'm electrically a disaster if I'm stressed and in a rush
needing to get something done on the computer. Computers and copiers,
printers have all rebelled when I am around. I have to leave the room.

14.) Since I was six, I was constantly was seeking meaning in my life
through, astrology, tarot, jungian literature, nature, art, reading new
age books, spiritual artifacts. I was compelled to discover who I truly
was and what I'm meant to do here.

My parents were atheists/agnostic and pulled my brother and I out of
Sunday school when I was six years old. My father was a mathematician
and a physician and I was told only Science was real, what you could use
your senses to see was real. So I had no support from family with any of
this. This was conducive to my reality.

Hope something in there may resonate with you. I have not had a chance to
meet another Indigo.
If this prophesy what are we supposed to do, exactly? Change the status
quo, I guess. But after feeling like a freak for most of my life I want
to connect with others.
I would be open to discussing more with any of you on this topic
offline...This feels very important.

Thanks,
Kate

Thomas: Hey Kate, you're amongst friends here, and
we're all more alike than you have any idea could be
possible. I recommend this to everyone, and I have no
problems repeating myself here. Please go to
http://llresearch.org & click on their "search"
feature. Type in "indigo children" & you'll see all
the readings that contain those words. There's a lot
of reading to do to find out more about that which you
seek, but it is all oh-so-very-helpful. When you are
done reading all of that good stuff, try typing in a
word or a phrase that you have always wondered about.
One of my favorites (remember, I was nearly obsessed
with duality when I signed up for this group some 20
or so months ago) is "devil" or "evil" or "satan," you
can even type in "Orion" and read all of the lovely
articles containing those interesting subjects. I
would recommend spending as much time as you possibly
can reading there every day. Eventually, you will
arrive at a place that is beyond words.............and
everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) will "fall into
place."

Best wishes to you & yours,

~ Thomas

In all due respect I really dont think you will find
that many important differences between wanderers or
Indigo's. I also dont think you will find that your
beliefs are that much different than the majority of
the 800+ people on this list. Labeling someone an
Indigo or wanderer is somewhat transient at this stage
in your evolution in my opinion. We are all one.

I think in time you will find many people who share
the same background and excitement as you the more you
delve into your spiritual studies. Enjoy!

Hi Kate,

I checked out some of the site that you gave for indigos. What is interesting
is that I fit into all
but 1 or 2 of the traits listed for indigos. What's even more interesting is
that the same holds true
for me regarding the wander checklist. There seems to be quite a bit of
crossover.

What I found difficult to except on the site is the percentage of indigos to
non-indigos that they claim
have been born recently. According to the site "About 85% or higher of children
born in '92 or later"
are indigos. This would mean that less than 15% of all children 13 yrs. old and
younger are not
indigos.

Yet, when describing a typical indigo it says: "When Brian's classmates call him
names, he cries. He
feels persecuted and vows to get back at them one day." My question is: why
would Brian's classmates
antagonize him if most of them are indigos too? The numbers don't fit the
experience described.

So am I a wanderer or an indigo? Maybe both, maybe neither, maybe it doesn't
matter. Maybe more
wanderers are incarnating and the new age movement took note and gave them the
indigo label? It would
be interesting for those who fit the wanderers description to go through the
indigo checklist to see if
there is a good fit there also.

Love & Light, Dave

Hi Dave,
Very good questions! I find it hard to believe there are that
many as well.
One answer I would propose is that this is a quote from an example from
an earlier period in time. Like the way it was for kids in the eighties.
I was born in 1974 and that was my experience to a certain extent, except
I didn't get vengful. I took the antagonizing, by forth grade, I began to
believe all of it. "Why would kids say such mean things unless they were
not true, I thought. I must be a bad person." Truth was that I was
psychically open and had no shielding. Kids can pick up on that
vulnerability and go after it.
Indigos are SO sensitive, any bullying feels like persecution. Agh! I can
only try to forget. ;(

I actually bought a book a week ago from ARE called, "Understanding
Psychic Children: Edgar Cayce on the Indigo Children. In the book,
chapter 17, they talk about a new root race of souls that would be
incarnating with "deeply ingrained memories and powers of consciousness
from former lives." (Day, 2004, p.127) Apparently these memories are
from Atlantis and Lemuria. So they were children of Atlan or children of
Zu.

Apparently some vault under the Great Pyramid, Giza plateau is supposed
to be opened when "the fifth root race begins". "Cayce indicated that
only those who could pass through this gateway would be those who had the
high mental attunment of a consciousness similar to the one that this man
had known as Atlantis. Once this high level of consciousness is attained
then the archieved records of all humanities history would be found."
(Day, 2004, p.128)

'"Cayce also said that much preparation was necessary before the world
could fully birth the new consciousness. "You expect a new root race, "
he said one reading, "What are you doing to prepare for it? You must
prepare food for their bodies as well as their minds and their spiritual
development!"' (Day, 2004, p.129) FYI Sri Aurobindo talked about this
new race as well, he called them the supramental.

He spoke of a transitional group before the real highly conscious
children are born. The transitional group is called the Golden Ones,
Children of the Blue Ray, Blue race and the Indigo Children. "Greater and
greater numbers of advanced individuals are incarnating with expanded
consciousness which Atwater calls "the ability to access the higher mind"
(Day, 2004, p.134).

Oh and Cayce suggested vibrational tools to help the indigos, who are so
sensitive. I have a chakra healing CD called Chakra Suite, by Stephen
Halpern. It is like drinking 2 classes of wine while I listen to that.
Very relaxing!

I'm sure Wanderers are a part of this. I will order the handbook!

Hope this peaks your interest!

Sincerely,
Kate

Hi Kate,

Your traits that you described are also indicative of wanderers, I think. Ra
also mentioned that
besides wanderers, there were entities beginning to incarnate who had a
combination of 3D/4D bodies.
Maybe this is what is being termed indigo?

I recall reading some of the Cayce material you sited in a combination of
various other Cayce books a
long time ago...interesting stuff.

You can read the handbook online here:

Thanks, Chris :)
Somehow this message almost slipped under the radar with me. In terms of
whether or not I think being Indigo is synonymous with autism, I suspect it
possibly could be. People have described me as being very energetically
"open", which I've worried about at times. From what other people here have
said, that is a problem which they experience as well. Hopefully one of the
things which will happen in the future is that society in general will learn
enough about energy work that there will be education available for
sensitives so that they can learn how to shield themselves.
