DW: OK.

Chris Hayden for your questions. Chris, the moderator
DW: I would still hope that if you all are interested you would let me know
somehow. At this point the response has been, frankly, troublingly quiet! If
I do this I'm locked in for three years or the financial equivalent thereof
no matter what, to a minimum of 579 a month more in expenses if I only got a
half-T1 at 750K per second upload speed - which would support, say, 90
people streaming at 8K per second at the same time - but since they don't
all actually download at once, just in packets, it could probably do 150
simultaneous users without breaking a sweat.
I do feel that this is such a great idea that it should catch on very well,
once it is properly presented on the website. It will be very addictive, in
a good way, when you're getting at least one and as many as 4 new readings
showing up every week... and if I start tapping the old clients for
permission to post their readings anonymously (only the reading portions,
not the "intake" portions,) then you're looking at potentially hundreds of
different readings you can click on and listen to, as they were coming in!
So please do LET ME KNOW if this interests you. Don't be shy and don't feel
like you're infringing to send me an email at my personal address! This is
something I really want to hear from you about! Once I order this, there's
no turning back.
Each one of these 17 professionally-recorded readings so far has been as
personal, hard-hitting and as meaningful as the "What is My Purpose" reading
on CD, so this opens the door WIDELY for you to have an ongoing relationship
with the Source. But this is NOT going to work if I can't get the startup
costs sorted out within the next 2 weeks after I publicly announce it! I've
had one person pledge a 300-dollar donation and another pledge the one-year
discounted rate of 72 (which will be 84 for the year once we get the actual
website going, so this deal is only for pre-reg) so that still leaves 1000
missing.
Again, I don't want to think in fear-based programming here, and one of the
things I plan to do is let everyone know who has bought books and CDs from
me over the last year and a half. That alone is over 1000 people, I think.
>Hi everyone,
>David would it not be easyer to sell CD's? it sounds like alot of
work & you seam normally very busy so might that be a strain
on your health?
DW: No! It is definitely NOT easier to sell CDs. Just having "What is My
Purpose" available out there now requires buying clear jewel cases,
printable CDs, label materials and mailers, then the business itself
involves burning CDs, direct-to-CD printing, label printing, downloading
PayPal transactions, receiving and depositing mail-in checks from my PO box,
printing all the shipping and return address labels, labeling and stamping
all the packages, personally autographing all the CDs (and the printables
have a strange surface that I still haven't found a 100% reliable solution
to write on them with yet, but I'm about to try out another new idea very
soon), and then bringing them all to the post office for mailing.
The reason why this is such a good idea is that it does not require any
material product creation and / or shipping, and I can insure that at the
very least there will be 1 new reading a week that will reliably show up.
When I do one here for a client I have a pro-audio microphone in the room
picking it up and it goes directly into the laptop hard drive. I process the
audio so it's really crystal-clear, then simply convert it to streaming
format and send it over the network to the server computer. I make a few
quick changes to the server website, and bang - another reading has just
manifested.
>in the transcrips are you counselling people?
DW: The readings speak to each person from a universal level, and very
rarely get "personal" enough that someone else listening to it would be like
"What the hell is THAT?" I can honestly say that each reading you listen to,
you would swear it was your reading, not someone else's. That's how it works
- Jung says that "we are the most similar at the deepest levels of our
pain." In fact, now that we're doing pro-audio recordings of each reading, I
have deliberately asked the source NOT to ever toss in someone's name, and
if very personalized data is needed that it do so in a way that still
applies to everyone.
As a result there is a mindblowingly solid library here. It can't stay
chained down in my own fear and poverty consciousness but really needs to
get out there and be heard. I don't want to sound over-the-top but the
effect of listening to these, with that level of fidelity, has been blowing
me away. Oftentimes the readings come through at such an incredibly fast
speed, with such fluency in the articulation of language, that it hardly
seems possible that my body was speaking the words. I am not digitally
editing out pauses in these readings so what you will be hearing is the REAL
TIME speed that they came in at - and this alone is miraculous and almost
unbelievable.
I should ALSO say that if I don't take on new personal clients for readings
after the old, pre-last-October wait list expires, come December-January,
then I will definitely be posting at least one new reading a week that is
specifically targeted for a mass listenership. This might allow us to really
develop certain threads more than is possible with client readings.
>I did not know you were trying to make a film but
am definitely looking forward to seeing it.
DW: Well, we've got a LONG way to go before then - but we WILL get there, my
friend.
Peace be with you -
- David
