I've decided to start this off as a new thread Ron! Please refer to
your last post to me, on 'I'm confused' thread.

Ron: "If we consider this literally (from a 3D perspective), then it
is hard to imagine how free-will is possible - for everything has
already happened."

Jake: I think the best description of this I have read so far is in
the 'Conversations With God' books by Neale Walsch.

The book describes life as a computer game on a CD-ROM. When you play
the game you are free to make your own decisions, and try
to `complete' the game however you wish. There is not necessarily
any `right' or `wrong' way to play, though some decisions are, shall
we say, recommended above others.

Despite the fact you have freedom to play the game however you wish,
you can still only make decisions which were `coded' by the
creator - those possible outcomes that are contained on the CD-ROM
(although in this case obviously the capacity of the disc is
ridiculous in size!).

Now, the `game of life' is so well coded and so many
possibilities are available, that those playing the game are given
the impression they have complete free choice.
Indeed, they have in some respects, but only out of the (incredibly
gargantuan) selection of choices the creator has coded.

So yes, "everything has already happened", but we still have
the "free-will" to decide which combination of events occur.

Ron: "It would be a sad shame if our lives are merely transient and
that our 'footprints are lost on the sands of time'. "

Jake: If we continue with the `computer game' description of
life, this would not be the case. We have an opportunity to `win the
game', and ascend. Even though every possible outcome has already
been coded, we can still remember the way a certain life turned out.
It's similar to remembering something cool that happened when you
were playing that computer game last week.
Nothing is lost. All `individualization' is stored forever.
All of our `computer game sessions' make up who we are in
higher dimensions.
