hello steve and everyone.
i just joined and am reviewing the messages from the last one backwards. it's
good to be here.
can I ask steve something? what does it mean to surrender to divinity or to the
truth? does surrender mean that we should just accept acts of terrorism and be
content in our victimhood?
i want to know the truth because a guy named jesus once said that it would set
you free. i'm not a christian actually, but i believe the man.
so if you can help me further to know the truth steve i would gladly listen.
What is the truth of the US/terrorism scenario and what is generally the best
thing to do in response to it?
thanks steve.

In Steve's responses to these questions posed by Ron, he has made some
very illuminating points. Here are some more thoughts in response
to these questions:
what does it mean to surrender to divinity or to the truth?
As Steve pointed out, humanity, incarnated into physical form, immersed
into the material plane, delves into a kind of
unconsciousness or slumber. As we inhabit physical bodies, we
become steeped in an elaborate illusion. In this illusion, part
of our unconsciousness, or our delusional consciousness, is
actually separation consciousness. In separation consciousness,
we perceive ourselves to be separate; separate from other human beings,
separate from our environment, separate from the
Divine, separate from the rest of the cosmos. In this deluded
perception, we experience the apparently separate self as "I",
and we i-dentify with this aspect, this personal, separate id-entity.
The material plane is a beguiling and convincing illusion!
We are lulled into this delusional unconsciousness by all of the myriad
aspects of the One which manifest here in a profusion of diversity, convincing
us, in our deluded state, that everything, including us, is indeed separate.
And in our unconsciousness, we are deluded into the idea that this "I"
self, this separate id-enity has a separate will of its own.
But this is just more illusion!! It is an illusion based upon separation
consciousness.
This separation consciousness, this state of un-consciousness might
be likened to a sort of spiritual amnesia. And in our amnesia, what
we have forgotten is that everything is connected. All is One.
While immersed deeply in the illusion of the material plane, we forget
that the spark of Love, that spark of True Divinity that
resides within the core of each human heart, is not separate from
the spark of Divine Love that lives in every other human
heart. We forget that that Spirit of Love that lives within all
of our hearts is the same Spirit. We forget the Truth!
And in
our forgetting of the Truth of the Unity, interconnectedness and Oness
of All, in our illusory unconscious state of perpetually
seeing ourselves and everything as being separated, we become caught
up on the karmic wheel of samsara, where we take
our turn, imposing our perceived but illusory, separate, personal
will upon one another other, by acting out every imaginable role
and permutation of the victim/victor scenario. Again and again, we
seem reach to outwards, attempting to grasp and attach ourselves energetically
in some way, to that which appears to be apart from us. But it is
all part of the illusion. There is no victim or victor.
That is simply the appearance to those who are immersed within the maya,
to those who have forgotten the Truth, to those who are slumbering away
in their amnesia.
So part of surrendering to Divinity and Truth may be about remembering.
As we awaken from the slumber and the
delusions of the illusory nature of the material realm, as we are roused
from our amnesia, we may begin to remember the
Truth, that All Is One. As we begin to awaken, we may
begin to remember that our separate "I" based personal will, our freewill,
is simply an aspect of the illusion we are experiencing here, incarnated
into the material plane, behind the veil. We may remember that since
there is really only One of us, the Will of the One is all that is really
True. All else is illusion, maya, samsara. And the One, the
Divine Source, which is imbued within all, yet transcendent of all appearances,
which is within and behind, yet beyond any worldly experience, is All that
is True. When we remember to simply say, "Thy Will be done", when
we beseech the Truth of Oness, and when we humbly offer up our hearts so
that the Will of the Divine One may inform us as we allow It to pour into
and through our hearts, maybe it is then that we may begin to surrender.
When we remember that any perceived force of will that is not the Will
of the One, is simply a distortion, and therefore not True, and as we cultivate
this remembrance, we may surrender ourselves, mind, body, heart and soul,
to simply serving as an open vessel or vehicle through which the True Will
of the One to be done. We may empty ourselves of any illusory perception
of 'my will', and so offer ourselves as a consecrated temple for the Love
of the Divine, so that it may fill our hearts with It's Will.
does surrender mean that we should just accept acts of terrorism
and be content in our victimhood?
As we surrender to Divine Love and Will, and as we remember the Truth,
those with eyes to see may look beyond all of the
apparent parts that are being played out upon the stage of the illusory
material plane. As we remember the Truth, we will
remember that those acting out the roles of 'victors' (terrorists)
and 'victims' are still riding upon the wheel of karma, still immersed
in the illusion, still becoming polarized through the use of the perceived
force behind their 'personal freewill' within the dualistic maya.
what is the truth of the US/terrorism scenario and what is generally
the best thing to do in response to it?
Much of what Steve said in response to this question bears repeating.
Here are a few of his points:
Two things can be seen through what has happened, Division and
Unity. To those locked in fear and anger,
there becomes a greater space between the imagined them and us,
to those who have their eyes open there
becomes less distance between them and us, because as one suffers
all suffer. Those with eyes to see the Truth
Know there is no them and us.
Not one soul counts above another, and not one place or life is
touched without touching the heart of another. That is the teaching of
this event. It is a wake up call ! A teaching of unity. And a call to unite.
But many in this world see only them and us, they are asleep in
there own dreams of separation, such events are
used to wake them up from that dream, not bury themselves deeper
in it.
Let us allow these events to act as catalysts for us to wake up from
the dream! Let us allow these events to act as a trigger
to dispel our amnesia. Let our response be to open our hearts
to Divine Love and Will, to remember what is True, and to
seek more of that Truth. Let us respond by asking Spirit to remind
us of what is True. Let us invoke the Truth, let us entreat
the Truth, let us beseech the Truth and ask that in every breath we
take, that the Truth may inspire us so that we may remember the Spirit
of One Love, and awaken to the True Will of God.
