Dream/Nightmare (26 Aug 2004)

i just got a couple hours of sleep this morning. i had an interesting
dream that i'm going to classify as a nightmare. the important part
comes at the end of the dream.

terms in the dream that came to mind as "native american". my
thoughts in the dream was focusing on why we have two people in us
(whatever that means, don't know why i was thinking that.) i was in
my bedroom in my dream, as where i was sleeping in real life. it was
different than my real bedroom. i think i was on my bed in part of
the dream. it could have been a dream inside a dream for part of the
dream. at one point i think i tried waking up, so i got up and went
for the switch on my light on my ceiling. in my dream, i concluded
something like that the reason why we have two eyes, that we're
different on both sides of our body (you know photography projects
where you can take a picture of someone and do cropping stuff and
double over the image to get two different pictures of the same
picture) is because there's two different people inside of the same
person. this is hard to explain. especially the feeling when
this "conclusion" came to mind in my dream. it felt as i was two
people, one was coming into the body or overtaking it. i felt i was
splitting, left and right, slightly. i still can't find the right
words. but i thought i would record this anyways.

it can be scarey to think of yourself as two people, i know. i had a
dream of this type. i would say though, it was more of an obe than a
dream. for in this i was in three places at once. in my bed, outside
my apartment on the street watching my own doorway, and in my bedroom
where i grew up. a lot of things happened but the last things that
occurred was that i found myself face to face with myself. it took a
moment for me to process what i was seeing and when i realized i was
looking at myself, not a mirror, i fainted straightaway in the obe! i
fell backward and heard my head hit a hardwood floor.

now, the room my body was in had a hardwood floor. the room i was
seeing myself looking at myself had a carpeted floor (a bright, lime
green color of the 70's) ;)

then, i got up, in my childhood bedroom and looked at a digital clock
which read 3:15 or 3:14 ( i cannot remember which ) and i heard a
voice, masculine, impersonal, say to me, "mark the time."

i still don't know what it means. anyway, i thought i would share
since i find your dream / nightmare compelling. love, v
