Knock Three Times
The title for this Message came in the form of hearing the strains
within of the Tony Orlando and Dawn song by that name . One that we
heard ad nauseam in the seventies over the airwaves.
A song that many of us came to dislike because we heard it so often.
I always pay attention to the songs that GOD plays within me for they
are always a Message for me and three has often played a part in the
revelations within me. I look at the trinity in a different way than
most, still sacred, just not in the way that it has been taught.
Before Easter GOD reminded me of a Bible verse that I had not thought
about for many years. Three times, GOD approached me with the numbers
3.16/3:16. When it came for the third time, I acquiesced and looked
it up, not realizing until I continued on into this chapter written
by the Apostle John that there was more Truth there than just those
memorized words that I had been forced as a child to recite. The next
day after I read chapter 3, my digital clock in my car caught my
attention with the numbers 3:19, so when I got to my desk at work I
looked up this verse to remind myself of what I had read the night
before. I will not quote to you from the Bible for it might fall on
deaf ears for me to push Biblical knowledge on many of you who have
no use for or a bad taste in your mouth about the Bible. The gist of
the 3:19 is that men love the darkness so that their evil deeds will
stay hidden and flee from the light for fear that their true nature
might be revealed.
Shortly after I real-eyesed the meaning of this Message from long
ago, I found a book in the library entitled The Dark Night of the
Soul. As I read the words of Theresa of Avila and St. John of the
Cross contained in this book, that spoke of this time in their lives,
I came to a deeper understanding of this well worn phrase. I was
reminded of the many times that I felt like I was separated from GOD.
Worried that I had lost my Divine Connection although each and every
time I was guided to wait and watch, listen and hear what was going
on in the silence and in the dark night of my soul.
For it is important to be patient and await understanding of what GOD
is trying to show us. And darkness by its nature causes us to move
slower, more cautiously, and be more aware of our surroundings.
There is no need to fear the darkness for there is immense beauty in
the night sky that can only be seen when the sun goes down. The
busyness of the daylight world can keep us occupied and preoccupied
with what seems to be the reality of our existence. Especially when
things are going well in our lives.
We are in a time of Great change. What we thought was real in our
lives is falling away and it seems that we are being tossed about and
carried by a tide of darkness that says nothing of how we truly feel
within our hearts. We are finding the things, ideas, and even people
that we had attachment to being yanked out from under us. Yet those
who are seeking Truth and their inner GOD connection are reaching new
levels of understanding of what really matters in their lives. We are
seeing more clearly and feeling lighter than we have ever felt before
by facing the demons of our past and healing from the deep wounds
that we have carried for this lifetime and others that we
occasionally remember in misty glimpses of another way of Being. Of
having been someone other than just this temporal body that we will
all eventually shed in one way or another.
I laughed this morning with GOD as I was thinking about the number
three and how often it has taken me three times to pay attention.
That I clearly know that once I reach that third time of nudging that
I should stop, look, and listen for what I am being shown. To do
otherwise is just a waste of time and energy. For me, the number
five is a signal of when I am on the right track. Many people are
seeing 11:11. Each of us have our own switches within that turn on
the light so that we are not left wondering if we are "getting
it" . Numbers can be indicators but they do not give us the answers
that we seek.
As I was thinking about the number three this morning GOD said to
me "There is no safety in numbers". That's when I laughed out loud
for that is the Truth of it. Yet the way that we were taught this
phrase was "There is safety in numbers". In Truth who among us feels
safe in a crowd of people? Being vulnerable to the whims and
decisions of the group mind. How many times in the past have we been
shown the danger of being in a crowded place when disaster strikes
and the crowd turns into a herd of mindless insanity, trampling
everyone in their path. Following the crowd has never been
comfortable for me. Being alone with GOD is my favorite place to be
and when I am most content.
Many Light Workers bemoan this solitary journey of the Soul encased
in this earthly shell. Yet GOD reminded me of the meaning of the word
alone when you simply add another l (El) to the mix. All-One. For it
is only when we are alone with GOD that we feel our Oneness with the
All that Is. Rarely do we feel a oneness with our fellow humans,
especially in a social situation. In fact, in a crowd of people we
often feel most alone, most out of place, most different.
The internet has given us the means to connect heart to heart through
words. Many of us will never meet each other in the physical, yet we
have come to love each other in ways that defy logic. We are sharing
our understandings and our deepest selves and finding kinship and
comradery. We are discovering our Oneness of Spirit even though we
are spaced far apart.
The hive mind is what has been used throughout time to determine the
direction of Hu-manity. The idea that there is a ruler at the top and
what is good for one is good for all. This is deception when it is
brought about in Hu-man, earthly terms. Entrapment. GOD addresses us
individually within, according to our understanding, always allowing
us our free will to make choices. Using the building blocks that we
are, to bring enlightenment. GOD's basic Truths are our common
ground, our common denominators and GOD can only speak through us. We
are the vessels. Each of us who are willing to speak our Truths and
what we are being made aware of on our unique walk. Only with Divine
assistance will we grasp the knowing of our place in this plan, the
part that we play and have the courage to carry on.
Another song that GOD played within me last week was "Ding Dong the
Witch is Dead". I recognized it but didn't remember from what or
where. I looked it up in a search engine and found that it is
from "The Wizard of Oz". I pondered this time worn, standing the test
of time, story. I thought that I knew the message of it, but after
watching it again, I real-eyesed that I had the story all jumbled up
in my mind. That what I thought was the storyline was not as I
remembered it to be. That when I took the time to watch it with new
eyes, it had a much deeper meaning than I had ever understood before.
The main characters all felt less than they should be. Dorothy
yearned for the comfort and love of home. The scarecrow was sure that
he lacked a brain. The tin man didn't think that he had a heart and
the lion didn't feel courageous. They all felt lack in their way of
being. Expressing that if they only had these qualities, they would
be complete and whole.
In the end, after many trials and tribulations, always operating out
of love for each other, they reach their goal of being granted a
personal audience with the Wizard. They carried with them the
broomstick of the witch who had been killed when Dorothy attempted to
douse the fire engulfing the strawman, who she loved most of all.
The love that they felt for one another gave them supernatural
strength of heart, mind, and courage. For this is the reality of
Love and there is no Love greater than the Love of Creator GOD for
us. If we can realize this abundance of Love that is our GOD Given
right, our birthright, there is nothing that we can't accomplish. For
it makes us more than we will ever think that we are.
In the end when the Wizard is exposed as just a man behind a
curtain, he addresses each one of them individually. He gives them
trinkets to represent what they felt they were lacking within but it
is apparent that these qualities were within them all along and only
needed the impetus of Love and concern, for someone other than
themselves, to be revealed and realized. Their Love for each other
brought out the very best in all of them and it does for us too.
When we Love, we shine the brightest but we cannot Love until we
first heal ourselves and realize how much we are Loved by GOD, our
Creator. I now return to the three times a charm idea that is the
defining moment of the Wizard of Oz. At first, Dorothy was going to
ride with the Wizard in a hot air balloon back to Kansas but at the
last minute, when the tie down ropes were already severed, Toto jumps
from the basket.
If you watch this movie again you will see that Toto escapes from a
basket three times and in each case the story takes a turn. Dorothy
gets out of the basket to retrieve Toto and as her ride flies off
without her, sobs that she has missed her only chance to return to
her Loved ones and her home. The Good witch of the North appears and
Dorothy begs her for help. This is the point when the witch tells
her that she always had the ability to return home. That all she had
to do was click the heels of the ruby slippers three times and she
would be transported there immediately. Knock three times.
One cannot look at any living thing without marveling at the
perfection with which it is created. I sat with a ladybug on my
finger for about a quarter of an hour on Sunday. It was grooming and
drying itself from having fallen into the water I was sitting in
outside. We calmly sat with each other and I watched in wonder at
how intricately it was made. Each moving part a work of art. If
GOD would take the time to design and create a ladybug, just imagine
how much thought and Love went into creating us.
We are so Loved and when we connect with GOD we not only feel it, but
we are able to be more Love ourselves. As we each individually
radiate Love, we are raising the vibrations of the planet. One by
One. As Dumas said so eloquently in his story The Three
Musketeers "All for One and One for All". I asked a couple of years
ago who it was that I was hearing that was speaking to me and guiding
me in such a Loving way and I was given the words "I Am We and We are
One". Last night I read a beautiful description of GOD in an article
written by someone who calls himself Amilius and I wish to give him
the credit for it here. He said that the word GOD stands for
Graciously Ordered Design and I emphatically agree.
We are not here by chance and we are wonderfully made to carry the
spark of GOD within us. To all be Brave-hearts and weather the
storms ahead.
