Melting Glaciers/Earth Changes

hello again :)

just wanted to post a link to a very interesting article on melting
glaciers and the effects they will have on...

-sources of drinking water (could create water wars)

-farming, food production (certain crops rely on melt waters)

-electricity (glaciers produce 1/5 of the worlds electricity)

-alpine eco-systems (would suffer)

-desert habitats (will disappear)

-third world economies (money generated from water, tourism)

-air pollution (will increase)

-rise in sea levels (displacement of people)

-glacier related disasters (random possibilities)

university of alaska fairbanks, alaska may be losing anywhere from 15

this is just an attempt to raise awarness. i have a feeling that
melting glaciers are going to play a big part in our coming earth
changes, so keep an eye on 'em!!!
