hello to everyone, hope everyone's having a bright day!
first, before i say anything. if this is not allowed here, i just
need to be told once and it won't happen again. :)
this is a link to a page about the embera indians, and their fight
to protect the murindo rain-forest, and their natural way of life.
http://www.planeta.com/planeta/98/1198colombia.html
i am an eco-junkie so i wanted to post a link that concerns the
rapid deterioration of our rain forests. if only in an attempt to
raise awareness. i would so like to go there and live among those
people and help them to protect it.
i am quite enamored with the vast biological magic, that
resides in it's midst and wanted to share it with you all. it is
believed that this is where most species can trace their roots to.
i believe these to be the "real" holy lands, (hoping this
doesn't offend anyone) and feel that you can mark the progress of
our ascension, by the deterioration of our "sacred" natural
resources.
the native embera indians are fighting the battle of good and evil
(with little or no resources), to protect something that most people
in the "real world" could care less about! i hope to learn much from
them by trying to conserve energy and the like. i use as little
paper and it's contemporaries as i possible can.
their love and devotion to gaia, is above reproach, imo, and i have
a dream of one day being there and sharing in the fight to protect
our mother earth!! (could be seen as negative i know)
the rain-forest is their reality, as well as the battle they are
fighting. while the people who profit from it, who live in vast
comfort, don't think about it, are "literally" sucking their way of
life, right out from under them.
i just wanted to share something with all of you, that is important
to me. i hope that is okay with everyone. i don't mean to form an
opinion in anyone's mind, i just want to share it's beauty mostly,
but also how important all of the rain-forests are.
my goodness, what i would do.... to be apart of that culture. they so
know the true values of conservation, and moderation. those
qualities are so very alien to the one's who would chop it
down for profit.
also, i wanted to post a link about the sierra de la macarena, "an
obscure geological anomaly covered with a living evolutionary
laboratory."
http://www.planeta.com/planeta/98/0898macarena.html
very, very good read, about the part the rain-forests served in
evolution and how they were originally formed. as well as what drug
crop growers in columbia, are doing to them.
i hope you find time to visit, if you do, it makes me feel as though
i've made a difference, even if just a little!!
i hope this would count as postive, and hopefully not negative.
bright blessings
