Dear David & group
I very rarely post, although do read many of the messages on the
board, but I felt drawn to write a message in appreciation of
David's work today. This is not so much in light of the recent N
conversation, but more in response to the occasional negativity that
arises in messages from time to time, and the sadness that I
sometimes feel when reading it.
I just wanted to express my deep appreciation of the Ascension2000
site, the huge body of work contained on it and of David's
participation in this group. Often I think we get caught up in
details and in day to day life and forget to express our thanks to
others around us for their contribution to our lives.
I discovered the ascension website at a time in my life that was
filled with frustration and a sense of waiting, frustrated in my job
and with plenty of time to explore on-line I stumbled across the
ascension site and devoured the material it contained. I'm sure my
experience in reading David's work is echoed among many people - it
pulled together many of the thoughts and subject areas I had been
exploring into a cohesive whole that resonated deeply.
For some reason I didn't notice the link to this e-mail group until
around 12 months later despite my having explored the ascension site
extensively. By this time my life had changed immesurably for the
better, with a sense of purpose and of knowing that I was now where
I was supposed to be.
Through this group I have discovered so much more - the L/L Research
site and the transcripts of Q'uo, through a list of suggested
reading material posted a while back I first heard about the Seth
books, the discussions and suggestions about diet have greatly
interested and informed me and David's posts continue to elucidate
many of the more scientific areas of his on-line books that I
struggle to absorb and understand.
The effect of my discovery of David's work has had a ripple effect
on people I know, in particular my sister with whom I have shared
many discussions. She may not actively read this information as she
feels she is not yet ready to understand what she knows is the
truth, but she searches in her own way through conversation and I
believe she too has benefited from David's work.
I have to point out that I do not accept blindly or in any way
idolise David and his work. There are parts that do not resonate,
some of the articles are from such an American viewpoint that I feel
they do not correlate with my experiences, but on the whole I find
the articles precious, illuminating and inspirational.
So this is just a post to say thank you. To everyone on the board
for the interesting discussions and arguments, and to David for your
dedication to producing writing of such quality and for sharing it
so freely with everyone who stumbles across it.
with love & appreciation
