i was wondering if many of you would have physical manifestations for
the natural characteristics of the magic functions (fire, earth, wind
and water) and how would they be displayed or arranged at their
designated places.
chinese astrology, for example, claims that the opposite
manifestations of reality are the earthly and heavenly energies. one
could set this as the standard location of earth and air, placing
whatever you use to portrait those in the perimeters of your
architectural conjunction.
also, yamaka patihariya, the "twin miracle" performed by the buddha
in a fit of showmanship, when he exhaled fire from his groins and
sprouted water from his torso. one could say, hey, the perfect
elemental disposition is this: earth, as the base, fire, water, and
then air. but, at a closer inspection, you would realize the essence
of those things, examining them carefully.
if earth and air are opposites, the same can be said of water and
fire. water's nature is one of containment; humility that is shown on
the way it adapts to the vessel that is surrounding it and it's
instinct to sink to the lowest levels. fire, on the other hand, is
all expansion, a cruel drive to consumption. and it's upwards motion.
so, getting back at buddha, he wasn't at a normal state when he
performed the twin miracle, he was well on his way of bending the
laws of nature, turning the cosmos asunder for the sake of his
message. he performed the miracle that only the buddha could, but the
message is the same for all bodhisattva wanabees: the magical act is
equivalent to like the rotation of a torus, relocating the places
that the elementals have in the manifestation of reality - turning
this: earth water fire air, into this: air fire water earth.
you may ask me, soo, what is the point? i say, use the first
arrangement when they are just standing there, when you do your work,
rearrange then internally and externally, into the second
disposition. remember, "as above, so below"
the natural characteristics of the magic functions (fire, earth, wind
and water) and how would they be displayed or arranged at their
designated places.
