Hi Roger:

Thanks for your comments. Everybody should feel free
to talk about the new guidelines. All I ask is that,
in the subject, you clearly state that this is
guideline discussion so that people know it is not
neccessarily on-topic in the strictest sense.

And codifying this is precisely what the rules were
intended for. I'm glad some of the lurkers are
appreciative of our effort, for it was for your sake
in particular many of the rules were intended (such as
deleting dead text, etc.). :-)

The extent of the previous formal rule set is put
forth on the asc2k group home page:

groups.yahoo.com/group/asc2k

The rules we added were mostly rules that had been
discussed (ad nauseum) on the list, usually only when
they were "broken". We tried to compile all the
various rules we have articulated off and on in order
to give y'all a more comprehensive guide to what is
helpful participation and what is not, since this
problem comes up all the time. In that respect, none
of the rules are "new" per se but they are, for the
first time, explicit and easily referenced.

Immediately upon uploading the .doc version, I
uploaded a plain text version that was sent out to the
list (I believe). In any case, here are the
respective versions of the .doc guidelines:

92Uo8KTnDLXYHganEJnsIWkD-Plw1/Asc2k%20Rules.doc

and the text version:

http://f2.grp.yahoofs.com/v1/cPLlPhNhioZDpDFHLUg_FTU1ccxQPQ53t0MVgszO0u2gOp43XT e\
VDcIiDA-x0lp9r2ikueURVE4M8FCJ/Asc2k%20Rules.txt

Make sure that is all on one contiguous line in your
URL box.

The plan is to implement an automatic delivery of the
rules to the list every so often as well as to all new
members, so we can all keep abreast of our
expectations.

> Just some helpful comments.

Quite helpful. Thank you very much.

Jeremy
