any one on this list having obe's? could you tell me about your
experiences? is it the same concept as remote viewing? could you go
to a certain place and read something and then come back to your body
with the information? havent i heard of this being done? why hasnt
anyone done this and prooven it as a reality?
hi bob,
you have asked a few questions here so i might break it up as it is not a
simple topic.
1. any one on this list having obe's?
on average i have three or four obe experiences each month that i recall. i
suspect i have them every night. most people on this list i would suggest
would, but i have no idea how many recall their experiences. i have had
several obe experiences with people on this list over the last year but i am
not sure how many are aware of these. i can tell the difference between an
obe dream and other forms by both the content of the dream and the activity
of my chakras. some people say that you must maintain consciousness on
exiting and entering the physical body to strictly be an obe but i disagree
with this view. i have also noticed that i am more active on the lead up to
full moons. from comparing notes with others this seems to be a common
phenomena.
2.could you tell me about your experiences?
have a look in the archives particularly when i first joined the list around
june 01 i posted a lot of my own experiences then. the robert monroe books
are a good place to start. also do a search for ingo swann and robert bruce
their sites have significant resources for both obe and remote viewing.
3.is it the same concept as remote viewing?
no. first remote viewing is done blind to keep the conscious mind in the
background. erv (extended remote viewing) is closer to obe than the standard
remote viewing because the viewer goes into a deeper meditative state. both
have lots of different levels to them. rv can be as low key as basic
intuition to actually feeling like you are at the target. obe can be real
time and as simple as standing next to your physical body, or to the other
extreme, going up a couple of densities and meeting your future self and for
that matter leaving this galaxy. all sorts of different rules and abilities
become available once you start accessing these levels. i am reading a book
at the moment called "the elements of mysticism" by ra gilbert. he makes the
observation how it is a fine line between being delusional and a saint.
reading the above i guess that makes a lot of sense:-)
4.could you go to a certain place and read something and then come back to
your body
with the information?
i have no doubt that some people can. at this stage i lack that degree of
control. ingo's web site details a lot of the work done at the stanford
research institute. some of the viewers got close to this level though not
always. david mentions the tibetan monks being able to achieve this. the
monks that i have met certainly in the physical and in my obe dreams
certainly have a quiet confidence.
5.havent i heard of this being done?
ingo's web site details a lot of the work done at the stanford research
institute. some of the viewers got close to this level though not always.
6.why hasn't anyone done this and proven it as a reality?
for starters imagine the problems this causes for the main stream churches.
historically these institutions have been a significant political player.
second, there are no secrets any more if people realize they can all do this
to some degree, and the powers that be still have much to hide. btw science
does not prove anything, it just provides a hypothesis to best explain the
data. that is why the million dollar bet to prove psychic phenomena can't be
won. equally a bet has been made to prove that psychic phenomena can't exist
and likewise this can't be won. all science should always be considered work
in progress in my humble opinion.
as ingo swann cleverly observes "science requires the repeatable experiment"
and obe, and to a lesser extent rv, doesn't work like that. i can provide
you with personal testament that i have experienced all of the above. my
personal testament would be fine for a court of law in a murder case but not
when it comes to esoteric experience. bob one last thing to consider is who
sits on the boards of the ethics committees of the various universities. if
my uni is typical you would find they come from many of the religious
institutions. are you starting to see how this type of information is
controlled? for my own personal growth the internet and an inquiring mind
have been a godsend.
in short i can't prove anything i say but i can point you in the direction
that was helpful for me.
if you would like some links to sites that have been helpful to me i can
post them to you but they are also in the asc2k archives as well.
cheers,
mawk
