View Full Version : Love from you or through you

Hi y'all!
Recently spent a week in Atlanta. =) I have some
confusion over something I've seen many times and am
not getting and thought someone here might have a
better understanding of this and could shed some
light. I came across this recently reading the
current L/L Research newsletter on emotion. Quo talks
about channeling love from the one infinite creator
and sharing it with others. Love not from you but
through you. Also in praying for others this releases
you from any karma that may be attached since the
light comes "through" you and not from you. But in
line with the law of one if you are trying to see the
creator in yourself, what's the difference of
Love/Light coming through you or from you? Isn't it
both? And if you will your heart open and will the
Love/Light through you to someone else, aren't you
involved anyway? I don't see how these are separate?
Quo said (per my understanding) that if you send your
own love rather than channeling it you can deplete
yours whereas channeling is infinite. It is just hard
to understand how love could also get depleted. Isn't
love by it's nature infinite? Any insight anyone has
that could help clear up this confusion would be
greatly appreciated.
Love and Light to all

Hi Lovie and L/L and Peace to All:
I think I can answer your question.
Everyone remembers the terrible hurt and sadness of
Sept 11, and I think very many people sent much L/L to
the site of the WTC, particularly while rescue
attempts were still going on. I was one of them that
sent every bit that I could, sparing nothing. I did
that about three times, once each day from Sept 11-13,
putting everything I had into it. At the beginning of
the 4th day, I found that I was totally depleted, like
my "pilot light" was getting dim. I wondered if maybe
I had "broken" something, so I asked a friend of mine
who knows a lot more about meditation and lightwork
than I do.
She said asked me if I had meditated at all, taking in
any light for myself. I said, no. She said, well,
that's why you're depleted now. What you should do,
to be more effective in something like this, is to
make yourself a conduit for the light. Do your
grounding exercise, then open yourself up to the
Light, let it fill you completely, energizing all of
your energy/chakra levels, THEN send out everything
you can. You can be a much better conduit for a major
light-sending effort if you don't send out just your
own light.
I think Qu'o is saying the same thing. There's
nothing wrong with sending your own light, and sending
your own light is always a wonderful gift of love.
But if you want to do work on a larger level, you need
a greater Light Source, and this Source won't let you
just be a pass-through unless your internal light is
replenished. You don't get to take care of other
people before yourself; that's not how it works when
you're sending Light.
Some people, who are advanced lightworkers, are able
to more-or-less stay "connected" with the Light and
are constantly being replenished, thus, they become
very efficient conduits. It's always better to be
"connected", for all kinds of reasons, and this is
what I think Qu'o is encouraging.
Of course, each of us have our "pilot lights" going
all the time, and there is light in everyone. But to
use the natural gas example, if you wanted to heat
your house up in the winter, you wouldn't expect to do
a good job by just lighting one burner of your gas
stove. You wouldn't go and light a bunch of candles or
oil lamps all over the house either. You'd go and turn
the furnace on, wouldn't you? The natural gas is in
the pipeline all the time, just as Light exists
everywhere. The furnace just has a bigger burner and
a great big pipe feeding it compared to your gas
stove.
Again, Qu'o isn't trying to say that sending your
light is bad. Of course it isn't. But taking from
yourself to give to another is, in fact, depriving
someone. That someone just happens to be you, but
you're important too. It's better to share and send
the great wealth of Light available all the time,
everywhere, for the Light always asks [in fact, begs]
to be accepted and shared. You need your light to grow
with and illuminate your understand. There's no harm
in keeping it. However, since many of us are not
advanced lightworkers, and need to work on our
"conduitness", I would say it's fine to send your own
light as long as you make sure that you're replenished
while you do it.
Does this help?

Hey Lovie!
I really liked Lesley's response to your question,
because in my mind it approaches it from almost a
physics point of view! As in "how can I maximize the
amount of love I am able to send"? And if you
understand the physics behind aether, you realize that
it is that flux that allows for the greatest energy
transfer dynamic - as in, by sending love through you,
you're creating a "draw" in the aether, a current that
can flow for much longer than you may want to direct
through thought. I believe there's something in
Wilcock's D.C. about the memory of aether and stuff
like that - once you set up the flow it keeps going.
The well-wisher becomes a pump, basically - drawing in
love/light and sending it out to one who is drawing it
in. Acting as conduit serves to create a flow rather
than simply a one-time exchange.
I tend to look at it more philosophically, but both
explanations go hand in hand, really. If you are
sending the love "through" you and not "of" you, you
are acknowledging that you are part of the whole, not
a separate being sending love/light to another
separate being. You become part of the unified,
collective process of touching another person's life,
not just one person doing a good deed. That allows
you to get in touch with a much more complete
self-identity, which renders you much more effective.
I think that philosophical approach, the
identification with all rather than self, is the
conscious enabler that allows a person to physically
draw upon ambient aether/love/light. Now, there are
plenty of people who understand this as prayer and
sending love/light though they may never have thought
about it, but I believe it is this choice of identity
that allows some to be able to send love/light more
effectively than others.

Hi Lesley and all --
I am a Reiki Master, and lead a group of 14 Reiki healers on a weekly basis
....
One of the very first things we learned, was *not* to use your *own*
personal energy .. but open up to the Universe and become a conduit of the
Universal Energies ...... The Universe is NOT limited in energy [as are we]
... but provides in over abundance ... pressed down till it overflows ....
in the 4 years I have been doing this, on a regular weekly basis, we have
had some truly miraculous healings .... and I KNOW it's not ME [or any one
person in the group] doing it ... I/we are but a channel through which the
healing flows ....
After each session, I have MORE personal energy than I had before ....
So, Yes !!! the energies flow T H R O U G H you NOT FROM you .. you merely
are the director of it ... kinda like a traffic cop :))
Blessings,
Olga

Just think of Love as an energy, which it is, and you will see how you can
deplete yourself, if you forget to channel it from the Divine Source.

Hi Lesley,
Thanks so much for responding to my question. Your
analogy of the pilot light is amazing! I've been
commuting to NYC all last week and was so exhausted I
didn't get to respond to your post sooner. After
rereading it, I thought wow.. Your post starts out
talking about sending love and light to WTC. I was
there just this past Friday! Since I was commuting to
NYC and was within walking distance of WTC I had to
visit the site. I can give everyone and update on
what I saw there which some might find interesting.
I was expecting to see a huge pile of rubble like
we've all seen on TV which is not what was there.
There's a lot of construction going on and they've
cleared out all the rubble. I believe they're
clearing it and preparing it for whatever they decide
to build there. Now it looks like a 3 to 4 story hole
in the ground the size of a city block which sticks
out like a sore thumb in the middle of all the tall
buildings in the city. It's all fenced in but you can
walk around it to see. On one side there are lots of
pictures of the towers and "history" for people to
look at and read. There was also a cross section of a
beam from WTC sticking out there which looked like a
profile view of a cross which had a large banner
underneath that read "Never Forget." This kinda
disturbed me since I don't like the idea of religion
being associated with the disaster. I don't want to
see a war based on religion. I also know it's a
symbol of strength to many and in some ways
appropriate since so many people died there. My only
hope is that it will represent peace and not reason
for vengence. There was also a unique feeling to the
place which I cannot describe in words. It was calm
and strong and neither joyful or sad. It just was. I
don't know how else to describe it. There's also a
gold colored statue of a globe that was between the
two towers that upon clearing the rubble, they
discovered that it was intact. Many New Yorkers call
this a miracle. They've moved the statue down to
Battery Park and have lighted an eternal flame there.
Again, thank you Lesley for your wonderful insights on
love. I will need to reflect some more on that to
fully understand it. I'm still having some difficulty
differentiating between love from me and love thru me.
It all feels like love. But I definately recognize
that depleted feeling so this is something good to get
a handle on. Love and Light to everyone...
- Lovie =)
