After last city election ...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
John,
Along with Chris, I, too, welcome you to the
list.
I wonder what your experiences were with the
elections that you mentioned--care to share
some observations about those elections in
general--local and national--through your
spiritual lenses of thought?
Seth
Hmm... Spiritual lenses & politics? Always care to share, so I'll try.
First, a clarification: national elections are/were not part of this.
Newark's mayoral election last May pitted a 4-term, 66 yo, incumbent
who's lived here 50+ years against a 1-term, 32 yo, council member,
who moved here 6 yrs ago. Their basic qualifications were comparable,
so voters had to choose between change and status quo. The incumbent
lost 4 of 5 city wards by a thin margin overall, but won 53-47%, via
a record turnout in his home ward.
The election involved great acrimony, finger pointing, & expense
($10+ million in a city pop. of 270,000). By my personal observations
as well as media exit polls, the deciding factor of the election was
mistrust of the challenger's youthfulness and length of residence in
Nwk. I think that mistrust is spiritually negative & representative
of a pervasive fear about cosmic changes we are experiencing.
After 31 years here, that's no surprise to me. It reflects the myriad
opportunities here for STO. It's disappointing, nonetheless. A change
of regime might have brought new opportunities for career development
(and increased property values:), without which, I need to move on...
One source of comfort is the below excerpt from DW's Prophecy Update
dated 7/3/02 (at http://www.ascension2000.com):
"The best way that you can help us in this process is, again, not to
get overly engaged into reading everything you can find about the
politics and changes that are going on. Rather, we encourage you to
realize that the prophecies are coming true and sit with that
knowledge, including all of its far-reaching implications for the
nature and existence of the Divine Cosmos and your role within it as
a being of light and love with infinite, multidimensional potential.
This is best done in silence, and is vastly preferable to the
constant assimilation of more and more speculative diatribe to try to
gain illusory mental control over the situation." [END QUOTE]
What do you think about this, Seth? Does spiritually negativity &
collective fear toward cosmic change increase the prospect of natural
disaster in a particular area?
Peace, John
I beg everyone's pardon, for giving the impression I'm not interested
in your response to the below question.
