View Full Version : (Doomstars) Questions regarding dreams

1) One thing I'm confused about, and still confused about when
reading things, is it more common to have color dreams or black and
white dreams? Oh, and when taking a poll on whether people have color
dreams or not and such, well, chances are the people you are asking
may be people who have the unusual type of dreams since they are
there to be asked. What I mean, is your asking the part of the
population that would answer yes, since they are the only ones
answering the questions, and not the other part that don't care, and
aren't there to be asked to.

2) You can be having fun in a dream, just imaging stuff and such,
inventing the dream itself, but could it have very hidden meaning in
it, even though 99% of it is of your own conscious making? I mean,
you make the dream, I mean actually imagine it, the same you would
daydream while wide awake, in an adventure sense. And yes, I know the
fact you are creating it could be of some use, but the small things
in the dream, that you don't consciously create, could be of use is
what I am wondering.

Dreamstar-

1) If I remember correctly, I believe that only 20% of the population
dreams in color (Time Mag said this a few issues back).

2) As for controlling dreams, you are truly in the minority. That's
called Lucid dreaming and we're lucky if we can do that a time or two
in our entire lives. See the movies Vanilla Sky and Waking Life for
additional info too. It takes extreme practice and dream journaling
for the average dreamer to even remotely have the possibility of
controlling a dream. I usually go to bed queueing myself to remember
dreams, and sometimes I request to control them; usually to no avail.
So be proud and honored to have the capability. Embrace and nourish
those skills, young Dreamstar!

In Love and Light,
Colin

I should have read the posts in order before replying. Now I know
what you meant by Dreamstar I guess.
I am positive my dreams are in color. I don't see how they can be in
black and white, it just seems weird if I ever did. But maybe next
time I'm dreaming I'll check.
I do have a kind of consciousness while dreaming. But not full
consciousness. There is still a set of rules to follow in dreams, but
I can always try manipulating them if I try hard enough.
Such as the following, but probably now limited to: flapping arms to
fly, teleportation by thought to skip tideous walking/running (hard
to do, depends on situation), change of scene, telekinesis is
difficult to accomplish if at all, appearance of objects is difficult
(for example, if you forget to put on your shoes, making them appear
on your feet), and that's all I can think of currently.

Okay, I am one of the 20% minority of dreaming in color.
But have you got any info regarding reading stuff while dreaming? I
mean actual text and stuff, like an example would be taking a test in
school, or reading a book? Now, I don't know if that is rare or
common, or how that works with which side of your brain you use to
read and such, especially while dreaming.

And another thing, does your position your lie in affect dreaming?
Positions include lying on back, lying on right side, lying on left
side, and don't know about sleeping with your back up, since I don't
sleep that way ever I think?
