o Libertine Party
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lol, it's correctly spelled: "Libertarian".
I was once a Libertarian, then joined the Green Party to
help it grow, then the Reform Party to help it grow, then
the Natural Law Party to help it grow, then back to my home
party, the Libertarian Party; now I don't belong to any
party, nor am I a US citizen anymore, as I've expatriated
out of that hopeless corporate-trap system (the US
citizenship system) and have reverted back into a Sui Juris
(means "free man"), the original kind of American who was a
Citizen (note the capital "C", as opposed to the
non-capitalized "US citizen) of one of the Republic states,
united. When the Republic existed, there weren't any "US
citizens"--there was no such thing. People rant and rave
about "We the People", but such a group does not exist
anymore, save for a scattered few who have actually
expatriated out of the US citizenship trap, like I have.
Anyway, in what ways could one see the principles of the
Law of One be reflected in the sphere of body politic
governance? How has the Law of One influenced your
perceptions of how people govern each other?
That's a really good question. I'd have to say that
the Law of One didn't influence my politics per se.
In fact, I see tLoO as explicitly apolitical. The
whole point of the material seems to be to work at
both the collective and individual level on self, and
allow all other levels of activity to flow through
self rather than originate with self (at least from
the positive POV). So what "counts" in tLoO in
forming the foundation of your actions in the greater
world and with otherselves, not the actions
themselves. In so far as you act from your
individual, limited self, you are to work to
understand rather than to control. Since politics is
essentially the study of power and control, I think
the Law of One has very little to do with it.
In fact, I would say be tempted to say that Ra's
inordinate emphasis on free will and unrestrained
experience allowed me to accept tLoO based on my
preexisting libertarian beliefs, rather than vice
versa. However, while I'm not sure that policies are
good ways to effect efficient positive change, the
study thereof, and of the body politic at large,
certainly could be good catalyst.
Jeremy
It makes me wonder about the power struggle goning on between the
higher positive and negative forces and their interactions with the
human species and between their own 2 camps (what a great mirror of
the political spilt in the US right now.) I would consider thier
actions a form of political governing. Especially when direct
contact and influence (conscious or subconscious)transpires to shift
the masses in one direction or another.
It may be the natural tendancy of an enitiy to lead, be neutral or
be lead. Probably depending on disposition, environmental
conditioning, purity of soul vibration.
I guess the idea of the LoO is to arrive at that neutral state where
the power strugle is no longer required. I think we may have
politics for several million more years. Good thing bush only gets 4
of thoes.
has any one noticed that the extreme 50/50 political polarities in our world
right now seem to symbolize or indicate some sort of PERFECT BALANCE?!??!
Love, me;-)
Or at least heading there... I don't think anybody was ready for a real
tie! (But what a cool place to live, huh, a country that could actually
*handle* a tie without falling apart at the seams)
Been watching the political threads with a little interest (some
disbelief that it still gets thru the moderators!) Some thoughts on the
subject...
It struck me as interesting, when I saw a post here about how the
liberals were responsible for a good portion of the growth/good fortune
of this country (which, even if I lean that way a little, I don't buy).
But it did get me thinking about yin/yang rhythms. When I looked at the
dynamics of politics like a natural system, the more forceful the
"expansion" (i.e. Clinton years) the more, there may also need to be a
just as forceful "contraction" (i.e. GW) in the opposite direction. Of
course that's vastly oversimplified, to say one is contractive/expansive
is a judgement I don't meant to make. My thought is that the whole
political thing may just be one of those balancing acts going on that we
have to collectively experience.
One isnt better than the other, they just are, and we need both as a
part of living in a polarized dimension. It's difficult to keep a
garden growing if you never let it rest.
I've also heard an example from golf, if you're slicing way right all
the time, you'll find the middle faster if you work to slice left for a
while, than by trying to slice a little *less* right each time.
May be a worthwhile exercise if we all found that middle, neutral, still
point, between the polarities where we can sense the imbalances, and do
our best to correct them at our level of influence.
Be well,
Brian
