david briefly discussed a way to use the tarot at his conference and i've been searching on the forums for the subject but can't find anything.
can anyone provide direction? i remember him saying something about 'programming' cards and specific card layouts.
i've also been looking through his 'accessing your higher self' video to see if her referenced it there, but not finding it.
any help would be most appreciated!

i would be interested in this too. i have a deck of cards that i bought for myself many years ago (supposedly bad luck) and i have done some readings but its always interesting to learn more.
my mother used to read tarot cards and could do using ordinary playing cards too, she was really good at it but stopped because she felt she was having a lot of bad luck when she read them and she also used to get bad feelings sometimes and wouldnt read for some people and there always seemed to turn out to be some valid reason afterwards like illness or death. she could pick up on things like this but she doesnt read anymore i think she should because she seems to have lost the knack that she had of picking up on peoples energies. i think that is a very useful tool and not the sort of thing that everybody has.

friends,
as an expert on tarot readings i can provide you with the smallest details and the largest reading methods. from history lessons to practical, everyday uses!
for me, it is easier if you ask specific questions, thus receiving the most relevant answers. there are literally thousands of different layouts and variations of those layouts that if one is doing a reading now and then, just for interest, they do not need thus to be worried with every single layout! once you know exactly the field in which you will be reading, you can choose layouts necessary to conduct those reading. over all, as an expert and long time user of cards, one must say, superstition leaves with experience, when the soul understand that whatever meaning and belief you attach to a specific object, tis'ose that hold that object for thus truth.
this can be seen in cultural differences all over the world, and tarot cards, as an international means of communication relies heavily on the basic understanding of signs, geometry and metaphors. the universal ones are the ones that count. thus, although many will subscribe to death a rather gloomy character, if all other cards around it are signaling luck and happiness, surely no one will die. there will be a change in a person's life, and most likely a positive.
first, you must understand that there is a hierarchy and always is among these cards. just like in our simple poker deck, we have the ace, king, queen... etc., so does the order exist in the tarot. no wonder, because the poker deck is the tarot's so-to-say, grandchild. =]
okay, so let me know what you wanna read on, and i'll tell you the simplest layout for that reading...
you are welcome to send me the resulting cards in the order of the layout and i can give you a full outline of their meaning. or i'd have to post a whole list of all the cards and their meanings! this way you will learn better and faster, because if a card you've already learned comes across in the next reading, i don't need to tell you what it is =]
either way, if you are uncomfortable with sharing information with me, i'm glad to slowly but surly, create a list of each individual card so that you can have them on hand when you are learning to read!
i also recommend studying the i ching... you can look it up if you want to =] the mckennas did an amazing study in the late 70s ,and following years, that connected 2012 and major world events to this old chinese card system.
[moderator: those interested may private message jeia ra manuk for specific advice - we'd rather the thread remain more as a general or universal discussion of the tarot and the archetypal principles involved.]
