i like to think that i am patriotic,
because i love america, i love our
spirit, and i love living here.
for me, the red, white, and blue stand
for deceit, openness, and ignorance,
and i've done a good job embracing these
qualities, just like many devoted tax
paying americans do.

now, at this pivotal point in my life,
i need to shed these qualities and
benefit from greater harmony. this
is in line with my american pioneering
heritage with roots back before the
revolutionary war.
namely, i'm bred to embrace change.

for me, these qualities have been
fictional incongruencies that result
in discordancy by creating needless
boundaries and misunderstandings,
breaking the potential of great synergy.

now, i embrace open truth, love and
understanding: consistent with my authentic
self, and in hopes that however weak my
harmony, it will sympathetically resonate
with other members of this group.

in a symbolic gesture, i remove my red
white and blue atlanta braves hat which
i've so proudly worn this last year,
(i helped coach my son's team.)

thank you my mirror friends, for making
this needed change crystal clear.

in god i trust and may god bless america.

pat

i've been repenting my repression,
and noticed that many times
repression comes out ugly.

this is an example. i wrote this
when the headlines were talking
about the united states strategies
and preparations for nuclear war.

whenever this issue comes up,
i feel powerless and pissed.
this issue is so imbalanced it
deserves a gross generalization.
the speed and violent destruction
these things do is the epitomy of
dehumanizing lust for quick fix.
(i wrote this in retaliation.)

i was in new zealand when the
rainbow warrior was sunk, i
delt with these well informed
kiwi's from a typical apathetic
american standpoint and paid
the price, i felt like ****.

the kiwis resurrected the
hiroshima event and i resorted
to folding orgami peace cranes,
leaving them wherever i went.
i traveled through the south
pacific and mourned for the
bikini islanders.

now, i watch little-league
baseball, see the kids wearing
red white and blue, thinking nukes,
and find myself spitting in
disgust.

maybe i should reprogram
my neuro-associations because
this is all folly; apathy is an
easier way of dealing with this
repression.
