Law of One Study Guide V.2

this is the first draft of a kind of alternate version of the study guide. it's also compiled by bob childers, who wrote the original study guide that has been here on the dc (and other websites) since the early 90's.

i haven't released it anywhere else except for here, and on the law of one forums at bring4th.org.
i'd like to invite my fellow cosmonites to have a look at it and give me your input. if you see any blatant errors, or just plain weird stuff in it, please let me know, so i can correct them before releasing it publicly. you can send me a pm or email through this forum, or you can email me directly at my user name @juno.com

the original law of one study guide evolved from the handouts/notes prepared by bob childers for a study group we had in the early 90's.

this revised study guide comes from a similar class we had at bob's house in the 2007-08 time period. it is not in any way meant to replace the original guide, it is merely a sort of alternate version that contains some topics not touched on in the original version.

the most prominent differences in this newer version are;
1. references and quotes from a course in miracles are interspersed throughout.
2. a much more comprehensive introduction by bob childers in chapter 1.
3. thorough and in-depth exploration of the path of the negative elite.

this guide is completely copyright-free, so please, put it up on your website; copy it; print it out; and share it to your hearts content. we only ask that you respect the original copyright on the law of one books i through iv by rueckert-mccarty-elkins, and please don't quote any statements out of context, or in any way that changes the original meaning or intent.

on the last page in section 3 - the evolution of consciousness, part 2 - the different densities - the title text is wrong as far as i can understand - one octave in music is a - g which is 7 notes. ra: states the 8th density functions also as the beginning density or 1st density of the next octave of densities.

the title text should read: the next octave begins at the completion of the 7th density - not the 8th

as it stands these contradict each other.

thank you metamike for bringing this to my attention. this is the kind of feedback i was looking for.

some feedback i received suggested i change certain ra quotes to kind of un-glamorize the negative path. i cannot change a direct quote from the ra, just to make it more palatable to certain faith-based organizations.

i do believe you are correct as to there being only 7 densities. i haven't re-read that section, (yet) but as i understand it now you are absolutely correct -- the 8th density is actually the 1st density if the next cycle; which of course leads to the question, why did ra call it the 8th density?:confused:

i'll read up on this and try to clear it up in the final version, (and if anyone has any suggestions, please share) and again i appreciate you pointing this out.

octave suggests eight, but then you would be counting d twice, at the beginning and again at the end of the scale. this is something i never really understood and i play by note (amateurishly). maybe scale means the eight notes, as that's what we played when asked to play the scale, but there are really only seven different notes.
