dw: i have a music page on the website that features the best material from
my music-making days. in the near future i hope to finish off my studio so i
can sequence my keyboard and digital drumset together to make more music. in
the meantime, my most highly recommended music to experience these states of
consciousness are the tangerine dream albums from the mid to late 1970's,
especially rubycon, ricochet, stratosfear and encore. i actually listened to
rubycon tonight while reading over chapter 3 of "divine cosmos" again - it
was quite an experience!

hi tiffany and group.
rob the lurker and very occasional poster here!
couldn't help plug some music that i made with a native american
friend that we have up for grabs at mp3.com. our intention was to
make "inner " music and also to show the versatility of the native
american flute. give um a listen and see what you think. i know
people have used this for birthing music, meditation and pre
meditation music, ( i think that meditation is best done without any
outside stimulation, but sometimes we need a little help mellowing
out to get into that "space" and music can help alot.)anyway, here's
the link- let this be a "gift " to the group!

i've read that hildegard von bingen's work is higher dimensional. it's chant
music that emphasizes the theme of light (she lived 900 years ago). i found
an arrangement from a group called tapestry that i like. she was a nun who
was also a healer (she wrote books about elixers made from crystals).

tiffany,
you can check out the monroe institute-http://www.monroeinstitute.org/programs/hemi-sync.html (after having my first obe's and not knowing what was happening to me i read robert monroes-journey out of the body-and then i knew!)-he designed the tones.
i have4 of the tapes-remembrance, the visit, moment of revelation, and wake/know-the tapes are meditation guides with certain tones designed to turn on electrical activity in the brain-i can personally say thatyou can acheivemeditative states-althought i often would fall asleep-but would have incredible dreams. http://www.hemi-sync.com/catalog/
if you want i could send you one to try out??

hi-q
this album is called, "freedom chants, from the top of the world."
also for those who like the electronic ambient, orb (is like a newer ver of
tangerine dream, and seem heavily influenced by them..)
also.. talvin singh is a master, a little more d&b, but really good, my
favorite track is called goom, and it is in concert with asian sounds.
peace and love to you all,
clark

thanks for the interesting posts regarding music, especially from jeremy and
lesley. very well written and well thought out.
my personal experiences with music lead me to believe that there are generally
two activities involved in the composition of music: the development of
technique, and the realization of intent, through intuition. the first is
"perspiration" and the second "inspiration". one of them uses the left brain,
the other the intuitive right brain. one activity creates a time forward
vibration, the other interprets a time reverse vibration.
when you are making music, you are sending out vibrations towards your
work, and recieving vibrations from it, kind of like sonar. one could say that
it is not your work which is sending the bulk of the vibrations, but actually
yourself in the future. you try out a technique, and listen for the result. if
the result works, or will work in the future, you get an intuitive "hit". "that
worked!" for the composer, this feels like the music creating itself, or like
you and the work have become one. composition is a kind of collapsing of space
and time, and an expansion of the moment.
improvisation is the simultaneous use of both intention and
intuition, so that there is no delay between the listening and the creating.
this is equivalent to a collapse of the distance between the creator and
created. it is also a collapse of the time forward and time reverse elements.
improvisation is perfect training for composition, because good improvisation is
the perfect fusion between technique and intuition, without preference and
without expectation. this is what led thelonious monk, one of the great jazz
piano soloists to say "there is no mistakes".
the whole theory of time forward and time reverse elements is examined
somewhat by shpilman and by tillman. shpilman (russian torsion scientist) says
that matter is the interference pattern created by time forward and time reverse
waves. tillman suggests that the etheric realm and the realm of substance are
two 4 dimensional spaces, one having positive mass, entropy, gravity and a time
forward sense, and the other having negative mass, self ordering, antigravity
and a time reverse sense. anyway! that is enough for now.
--mike
everything is perfect in itself, and nothing is perfect in understanding.
and so the world is like a great and unrivalled artist who has forgotten its
creations. how surprising and strange and familiar must each and every moment
be, having been created by us and forgotten just as easily.

me - wow - very interesting things to ponder. i never thought about it like
that, but it truly does break down the barriers of time (in the traditional
sense). interesting that so many of these "jam bands" are coming back in
full form throughout the rock-type scene right now.
when i perform live, that's certainly when i feel the most connection and
rise of energies that would allow doorways to open. i still find the amount
of vibration generated from large crowds to be amazing each and every time.
very interesting thoughts mike - thank you. - - plenty to ponder.
:)
