<font face="arial, helvetica"><font size="2">a plea from usha patel of zimbabwe

dear friends

i write to you for help in focusing peace and a return to sanity in my

country, zimbabwe. for those of you who do not know zimbabwe, we are a

southern african country to the north of south africa. since december 1999

we have had a government gone mad in trying to enforce its madness upon the

citizens of this peace loving country.

today is the last day in january, and as from tomorrow we will have 36 days

before we go to the polls to elect a new president. elections are scheduled

for 09 & 10 march 2002. the present incumbent is doing his utmost to prevent

a legitimate opposition party from campaigning. citizens are being

terrorized in the name of the ruling party.

i plea to you, whenever you do your meditations and prayers to focus on

zimbabwe, and visualize a country at peace with itself and its politicians.

everyone is predicting a bloody run up to elections. the most peaceful days

will be 09 & 10 march. once the votes are counted, there may be mayhem

unleashed upon the population.

my second plea is to ask you to circulate this to everyone you can possibly

reach via the internet. your prayers and meditations be they in a church,

temple, mosque, mandir, or at home will be most welcome.

please help us.

yours in peace

usha patel
