hey donna,
not sure i can help you much on this one. dealing
with people who are control freaks is part of my
baggage, too, and trying to integrate that personality
trait has been one of my big tasks in this
incarnation.
all i can say is to be honest with yourself and your
feelings. the answer to our mystery lies within us;
it is not "out there."
dealing with people who want to control me and by whom
i feel manipulated has always been a big issue with
me. since i was very young i always bucked what i
felt was arbitrary authority. i think it was a fear
of loss of identity, in a certain sense: that if i
wasn't controlling my actions, i would cease to be.
in one sense i believe it is completely valid and
understandable to go about your life assuming that you
are a free individual who is able to do what he
pleases. in another sense, i believe there is much to
be learned about the identity of the self by
juxtaposing it's innate freedom against the
constraints and manipulations inherent in 3d life.
this is what i have been unable to reconcile.
however, i have a long time still to think about
things before my chips get cashed in.
:-)
